SOLVED: Children's/YA > SOLVED. I guess it would be a bit of a horror psychological book, it did delve into the mind quite a bit, it was a fiction book for sure. I can't remember too much about title though. Spoilers ahead. [s]

Leonardo (leoalex22) | 2 comments When I was in elementary school, so around 2006 and on word maybe, I had read this book (SPOILER kinda) where this teenaged girl moves with her dad to this crappy little tiny town on a cliff that she always mentions is being eaten by the sea little by little, the town would just loose houses and houses that just fall off the edge. The girl was kind of goth I wanna say, wore this cross her boyfriend gave her (he dumps her whoops) and she talks about how it's not for religious reasons just she wears it cause its a gift. She watches the wizard of oz and talks about the munchkin that hung himself (this is a conspiracy so still unsure if it's true or not). she ends up meeting this girl in town and they explore an old abandoned church that's near the edge, perched over the mouth of the ocean. Well in this church there's a journal of a man who was doing experiments to see what heaven and hell looked like; if it even existed. The POV changes from the goth girl to the journal's POV to people from the time the journal was written and then back again. It was a pretty wild book and ended with (SPOILER sorry) one of the girls actually conducting the experiment and seeing heaven/hell, and they try and leave but one of them falls off the cliff and dies I think, I'm fairly sure it was the other girl, not the one who moved there with her dad but her new friend. I think at one point they kissed too, I can't be too sure though it HAS been years since the last time I've read the book. I've honestly been looking for it for like years though at this point and I am just extremely desperate to find it please.

Please provide plot details (no spoilers) and the genre of the book you’re looking for in the Topic header - not something vague like "Help! can't remember this book". Someone is more likely to recognize your book.

This helpful pointer and others are in the group description box at the top of the group homepage.

Also helpful is the sticky post at the top of the UNSOLVED folder:
