shit. lost my comment. I was going to pick Hideaway for Kooloo, but I'm not sure if you've read Corrupt...and you have to have read book 1 before book 2 here. Punk 57 is amazing...and I think you'dc love it...but you seem to love series reads... hmnn condundrums. you have a KILLER list.

As much as I want to pick a P. Douglas book, or an Emma Scott, I think I have to pick Badger. it was such a well written book... just amazing. Enjoy!

Jan, I have been down the East Coast of Tasmania and Wineglass bay is in the top 10 beaches in the world. It’s so beautiful there. We stayed at a place where the penguins came in from the ocean and walked up the sand dunes to their boxes. I loved it.

OK here is what I thought... the writing saved the story.

(view spoiler)[ I just could not feel anything for Badger and so the angst and heartbreak was just not there for me - I was always like good get rid of him and don't let him come back!

So why did I feel that way... years in the healthcare field dealing with addictions, being First Nations and seeing people deal with generations of abuse... I don't know

Maybe it was just as simple as I needed Issac to try harder or to want to change - instead it felt like he was just a lost cause and become more of an obstacle for others to learn to live their lives around...

The only time I really felt for the characters was the last scene when Adrian and Grandma talked about him when he was already dead...

So what would have made this 5 STAR EPIC...
perhaps if he had died earlier in the book and it was about aftermath of his death - of surviving those who can not be saved and learning to know the difference! (hide spoiler)]

We're further south now, in Hobart, and the weather is @#$!!. Supposed to be only a few weeks till summer but there's been lots of cold rain and wind, plus SNOW on Mt Wellington which the city is built below. What the ????? Yes, Melinda, I think summer would be the best time to visit. I wouldn't come in winter! *shivers*

I loved Avoiding Commitment (even though I wanted to tie Jack's sack in a knot). Believe it or not - because I never would have believed it - he redeems himself in the third book. Well, at least for me he did. Shock of all freaking shocks.
