Sue | 158 comments The above is not my final post for the Readathon. It's still morning of 19th November here where I live. I have some books that I've read parts of this week, but have not yet finished ( I usually have multiple books "going" at the same time.) So, I'll post one more time once I see what additional pages I get read today.

This has been a lot of fun so far! :)

LynnB | 1769 comments 8:50 a.m. where I am, so I still have a lot of hours in which to read today! I'm hoping to finish one more book and get further into my last LOST book. It's non-fiction, so it's a bit slower read.

I did not finish any of my games (other than the last book rolled in Bookopoly), but I am very glad for having read so much of Sense and Sensibility. For that, I am grateful for this readathon!

Jayme, I have wanted to hit the women/girls over the head or give them a good slap more than once. :) I did notice that this book is on the satire list...which helps me feel a bit better about my response. And, to answer your question, it did neither for me...not sensible nor did it make much sense at times.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 1278 comments Hehe, I read it and it felt like reading stereo instructions in Japanese

Jane Austen was known for social satire. I find reading her stories with an ear to that actually can make some of them pretty humorous.

I think if I had know that, before I started reading her at this stage of my life, I might have enjoyed her books better. She is not one of my favorite authors at all...but she is a writer of classics, which I am trying to read.

message 191: by [deleted user] (new)

My first and last post! (My phone doesn't let me post in discussions for some reason and I was in the hospital for nearly the entirety of this read-a-thon.)

Sleeping Giants - 230 pages
From Here to Eternity: Traveling the World to Find the Good Death - 272 pages
Hiding in the Bathroom: An Introvert's Roadmap to Getting Out There - 41 pages
Queen of Shadows - 83 pages

And that's all I managed during four days of attempted induction, before we gave up and opted for a c-section and pretty much all reading ceased.
