SOLVED. Romance women abducted by aliens lacking in genetically compatible women. [s]

So, I was just rereading the warriors of hir series by willows Dane, and I remembered a scene that I believed was part of this series but doesn't seem to be. The moment I remember is that women have been abducted from earth and are going to be taken to another planet to become brides... women are rare and they found that humans were compatible, one of the women demands to be able to collect her babies and have someone protect them or something similar. One of the men makes the vow that she requested believing that these babies are males, and she collects the babies which are girls from earth...

Any ideas?

That is from a book called Grim by M.K.Eidem. And it's the first book of the Tornians book series :)

Definitely from Grim. I just finished re-reading it, and that scene happens really early in the book (like first chapter).
