Diane, Just a quick thank you for bringing Indian Horse to our attention. I'd never heard of the author or the novel, but I picked it up based on your review. I just finished it and thought it was really well done.

Chrissie I stuck in a short story--Pictures by Katherine Mansfield.

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I listened to it read by Juliet Stevenson. She does a good job with the narration.

Chrissie I stuck in a second short story. In my view it is not quite as good, but almost. Which you like best will depend on what you are looking for.

My review of The Eyes by Edith Wharton follows here:

PattyMacDotComma Aussie author Kate Morton has produced another back-and-forth through time novel, The Clockmaker's Daughter, that's bound to be popular.
The Clockmaker's Daughter by Kate Morton My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Chrissie I have been told that Morton's books most probably will not fit me, so I have never tried them!

Michael (Michael_loves_books) | 1 comments Hi! I want to share with you an amazing adventure book I've recently read. It's called Lights on the Sea and I know that probably will sound exaggerate, but I really think everybody should read this peculiar and inspirational story about an elderly couple trying to survive inside an adrift house.

Chrissie I enjoyed Jane Austen at Home. Jan recommended it to me, and I can recommend it to others.

PattyMacDotComma These are two great kids' non-fiction books about their favourite subjects: dinosaurs and sharks! And full of the facts they love to stun grown-ups with. I included lots of screen shots so you can see what you're getting and what kids are learning. (Be honest - you are learning, too.)

The real books come with kits to build skeletons - good fun, I bet.

Alice Poon (alice_poon) Finished The Water Beetles. Have mixed feelings. The story-telling is vivid and emotive, but I couldn't feel the chemistry overall. 3.4 stars.

Thanks. Every time I see your decimal ratings I chuckle at your precision.
