I finished The Perfect Comeback of Caroline Jacobs: A Novel by Matthew Dicks a couple of hours ago. It was a fun, engaging read. I am now opening
The Field on Oakwood Farm by Danielle Stewart. It's book 7 of Stewart's Missing Pieces series.
I'm reading Waiting for the Waters to Rise by Maryse Conde. This book won the English Pen Award and the alternate Nobel Prize. It's set in Guadaloupe, Mali, the Ivory Coast, and Haiti. The tone of the writing is a strength as well as the characterization. I'm enjoying it. Wish I had more time to read.
Currently reading The Ink Black Heart after a lull in my reading. After I finish this, I have The Rose Code ready to go
I've decided to "face" the latest (not so recent though!) of Robert Galbreith/J. K. Rowling Troubled Blood.
A bit too long, even if she writes really well

I'm reading East of Eden by Israel J. Singer.
Interesting, as usual with the novels of all this family!

I will start the classic
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. It will take me about 3 months to read it. I'll reset my reading challenge goal from 50 books for 2022 to 20 and call it a year.
Picked this up yesterday at the used bookstore for ten cents. I haven't read it, but I know I like the author, and it sounded good. It pulled me in this morning and I'm already 200 pages in!
Night over Water by Ken Follett

My favourite new-to-me book this year is Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Reading some novels by Annie Ernaux, the latest Nobel Prize: A Frozen Woman and Happening. Really ibnteresting, even if not an easy read
An unabridged audiobook of Kindred (1979) by Octavia Butler, as part of a Read My Age challenge. The first science fiction novel written by a black woman, it's also my first read of Butler, which I am enjoying.
At the moment I'm reading Magpie Murders for our group read.
Liking it extreamly! A meta mystery novel!!!
