I have been reading Happy Dreams by Jia Pingwa - about halfway done now. While I don't dislike it at all, I am finding that it isn't really holding my attention... This is a contemporary Chinese novel about 2 poor men who have moved from their small village in the country to Xi'an to earn money & hopefully improve their lot in life.
