Oh that’s cool Stephen and Stephen I can’t remember how many of those Karin Slaughter books I’ve read
I put East Lynne back on my tbr shelf. It really is a well-written and pleasing novel, but it doesn't "feel" right. I tried to move away from my pile of cozies, and I failed. The cozies are my "right now" reading for the most part. Last night, I opened
Murder is Binding by Lorna Barrett. It feels right.
Have given up on the library books for a bit and now reading one I bought recently. The Banksia Bay Beach Shack
Only a few pages in so far. But think this one will be good. I have enjoyed one other by this author.
Started
The Perfect Couple by Jackie Kabler after finishing the breathtaking
Find Her Alive by Lisa Regan. My spoiler free review can be found at https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/... and https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished Guests of August by Gloria Goldreich which was predictable. Considering we have been sitting in our houses for days, a book about a summer resort should have sounded so good to read. Unfortunately sometimes a favorite author stumbles. Reluctantly gave this book a 3.
_jo.85_ wrote: "I started reading the Strike series by Robert Galbraith during lockdown - I’m just about to start Career of Evil."A great series, Jo - hope you're enjoying them! I'm envious because I've already read them all so far!! Great TV series too with wonderful chemistry between Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger.
Moving on with the Maisie Dobbs series, I am now reading the 11th book in this series, A Dangerous Place. So far it’s going rather slowly but hopefully it will pick up.
Started
Never Forget by Martin Michaud after finishing
The Perfect Couple by Jackie Kabler. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
Change of books. I began A Dangerous Place, the 11th book in the Maisie Dobbs series. But by page 50 I had no oomph to go on. I checked some reviews and some posters sad to skip this one and go on. So I put this one down and am now reading Truths I Never Told You by Kelly Rimmer. The book began well but is slowly going downhill. Oh well I wish I could find a book I could really sink my teeth into.
Have started
A Cold Trail by Robert Dugoni after finishing the complicated
Never Forget by Martin Michaud. My spoiler free review can be found at https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/... and https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Christine wrote: "Sandy how are both of your books going?"Never Forget was very complicated, Christine. I kept losing the thread and having to go back and reread bits. How are your books?
About to begin
Can You See Her? by S.E. Lynes after finishing the 4 star 7th book in the Tracy Crosswhite series
A Cold Trail by Robert Dugoni. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and on my webpage sandysbookaday.wordpress.com
For the second time in less than a week,!i decided to put down another Maisie Dobbs book. And after much opening of books last night, as I feared I was descending into the book doldrums, I began reading The Glittering Hope by Ione Grey. I hope I can read it till the last page.
Just finished Career of Evil by Robert Galbaith - I totally did not figure out THAT result! This probably explains why I’m rubbish at Cluedo.
Starting
The Island Girls: A heartbreaking historical novel by Noëlle Harrison after finishing the unusual and intriguing

Christine wrote: "Sandy how are both of your books going?"They were both really good thanks Christine. I am glad you liked yours too. 😷❤😍📚
Put down The Glittering Hour but found a Daniel Silva book, House of Survivors, which features Gabriel Allon in his 17th book in this series. For the most part, I really enjoyed these books and so far I read 50 pages. I do hope it’s a go.
Currently reading book 14 of the Mitford series by Jan Karon To Be Where You Are
Has all the charm of the rest of the Mitford books.

An interesting read, though a hard read in parts, but moments of light as well.
Started two complitely different books - as usual, I like to vary.
Soldiers of Salamis by Javier Cercas - to go on with what I've started with Orwell and his Homage to Catalonia - and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R.R. Martin

Just started Mastering the Art of French Eating: Lessons in Food and Love from a Year in Paris it's a little bitter sweet as I was going to go on my honeymoon in Paris this year but that's looking to get postponed. Still, I hope it will eventually happen sometime in the future and this is a fun way think about it!
