I've just an article about the world's tallest teenager..and guess where he's from?Yip...Wales! 16 years old...now living in Michigan but plays for Wales international Basketball team (what else could it be?!)..he's 7'4" tall and still growing. He's only 3 inches shorter than UK's current tallest man...so we might have new one in a coupla years time! Brandon Marshall is his name.
I was not a short boy, by any defination...and was taller than most of my teachers at my primary school by the age of 11....but got my growth spurt during my teens. But i think girls generally physically grow up sooner than boys anyway. So had i been in your class Lez...you may well have been taller than i, for a few years anyway! :)
Greyhounds? ... WoW?!! ;o>I wonder what would happen if folk over here in the North West of England were asked about their ownership of potential money-makers such as Greyhounds ... and Bulldogs, Whippets, Ferrets, and Racing Pigeons?!!
I saw a guy very recently on Facebook who was offering up 13 Bulldog Pups for sale (to known and trusted family and friends only) for £1,500 each! There's apparently very BIG money to be made through the breeding of Pedigree Dogs.

I get the impression the Aussies have a racing fraternity for anything that moves - 'roos, possums, wombats etc !
Lez wrote: "I get the impression the Aussies have a racing fraternity for anything that moves - 'roos, possums, wombats etc !"I'd love to see a Tazmanian Devil race, Lez!! ;-)
It'll be very violent, i shouldn't wonder!
Australians do have a reputation for betting on two flies crawling up a wall but I don't really know if we gamble more or less than other nations. And the population percentage of greyhound owners may be no more than average either. The late D up our street used to have two. I've never been to the dogs but I've always fancied having a retired or failed greyhound as a pet.I just checked the TAB betting site and there are 12 greyhound meets around Australia today available to bet on, plus 2 in the UK, 2 in NZ and 1 in America. So maybe we do have more opportunity for dog racing.
Dog breeding is also lucrative here. French Bulldogs seem the fashionable pet of the moment. Anything from £3000 - £4000 for one of them. I don't know how you'd get that income past the snoops though because you'd have to be a registered business I would think in order to have the pedigree registered.
Stick a giant jack-in-the-box in the bin - next time he lifts the lid he'll cockapoop himself! :)
A late lunch (late home again) of cheese and tuna melt in a half ciabatta.
Best be getting off to bed in a minute - one more shift to go, which will have to be short to keep me within the 60 hour weekly limit :)

Advice from The Blue Cross on how to keep Cats cool in a Heatwave ...Drain the Springwater off a Tin of Tuna and add roundabout the same amount in Tap Water to it. Stir, then pour it all into an Ice Lolly Mould (or two), and pop in the Freezer ... TA-DAAA!!! ... a yummy Fish flavoured Ice Lolly that you can hold the Stick of in your Hand while your Cat gets to rehydrate and cool down by sucking and nibbling on it! ;o>

Tea of grilled sardines & salad here. Elder little miss had mushrooms, courgettes & spinach, and then completely destroyed the illusion of virtue by having a vegan Magnum.
Gordon wrote: "then completely destroyed the illusion of virtue by having a vegan Magnum"Don't a few Cocoa Beans also count towards one of your Eight A Day? ;o>

Is this a .44 made out of wood, GG?! ;-)
I'm not keen on Sardines - I've always found them to be more bony than Pilchards and the Bones much more awkward and difficult to deal with.I absolutely love these though - and, coincidentally, I had some on a couple of rounds of lightly buttered Wholemeal Toast for my Tea last night ;o> ...
We know of someone who has a woofer called ... 'Woof' ... !And his two Cats are called ... 'Meow' ... and 'Purr' ... ! ... ;oO
who would eat something called SILD?mash the bones? i suppose it's a tradition up there in sawney bean country! 😈
Never heard of sild before..but then i don't eat oily fish bar smoked raw salmon.SILD......um..sardines in light diesel?!
I always mash up my Pilchards before spreading them on my Toast.Yes, it looks awful but it evenly blends in the Tomato Sauce and helps them to spread better ... and tinned Pilchards don't particularly look very nice anyway, do they? ... it's the taste that is all that matters with Pilchards and they taste yummy to me ;o>
Sild were always popular in Liverpool. I always thought they were small sardines but I've just discovered they belong to the herring family. Anyway they're not as strong tasting as sardines or pilchards and you can just squash the bones into a paste to spread on toast.https://www.john-west.co.uk/product-i...
I have sardines in springwater nearly every day for my lunch. Can't get enough of them - and especially the bones!! I'm very aware of my calcium intake and eat a lot of tinned (and fresh) salmon too (love the crunchy bones in the tinned variety). I also use tahini rather than butter or magarine.I've never heard of sild.
I love sild and brisling. I usually have them in sandwiches with loads of salad and a generous dollop of salad cream.
you're all savages!we'll make an exeption for gordon, as he has to make do with whatever folks leave behind in the boxcar!
Gordon wrote: "I love sild and brisling. I usually have them in sandwiches with loads of salad and a generous dollop of salad cream."Delighted to see another salad cream fan. My sister is too, neither of us likes mayonnaise.
Mayonnaise has its uses: mashing up tuna or egg in, for example. Salad cream has a different purpose.
Gordon wrote: "Mayonnaise has its uses: mashing up tuna or egg in, for example. Salad cream has a different purpose."That's true. I just don't like it 'straight' on salads. Mind you, I don't like salad anyway!
Which now reminds me ...I came across a recipe for Battered & Deep Fried Prawn Salad the other day! ;oO ...
Dinner today was burger and chips - no mayo or salad cream :)
The only time I use mayo is when making a sauce to go on prawns - equal measures of salad cream and mayo, with tomato ketchup to add colour and a good grind of pepper and a sprinkling of paprika once the sauce has been poured over the prawns.

Well, it's Captain Scarlet's Birthday today ... my Dad has made it through another year to yet another Birthday celebration that all the Doctors thought that he wouldn't get to see ;o>And he's typically in really awkward and challenging grumpy grouch of a mood as always - LOL!!! - but Mum and me are just completely ignoring all of his mutterings and moanings and continuing with partying on regardless! ... HA HA HA HA HA!!!
It's your 78th Birthday, Dad - and you WILL have a happy one whether you like or not!!! ;o>

We did have a PM (Malcolm Fraser) back in the '80s who, in an election campaign, famously said that if Labor got in, "people would be better off keeping their money under the bed". Plus ça change, ........
