Arenda | 26447 comments #263 not done (yet). The isbn edition has a placeholder title. What title is that isbn for?
#265-268 done

#269 there is this Worldcat listing: http://www.worldcat.org/title/superma...
Since there is no isbn listed on that page, treated it as a series placeholder and merged into issue 1.

Ruthsic | 74 comments The author of the book wants this book (both editions) deleted from Goodreads as it was added without her permission. Also, she wants to traditionally publish it in the future and does not want an existing book page for a rough draft to hurt her chances of the book being picked up in the future. It has 5 ratings already so I cannot delete it myself.

Re 310: Goodreads does not delete out-of-print books or editions. Please see http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/22... and http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/32...

For Wattpad-only works, the author should email Support directly if she wants to request its removal.

That is a very silly rule. Deleting/replacing covers is also not allowed, right? One had the cover, and everything else was correct, the other had the ISBNs but apart from that was riddled with mistakes.

I understand but the book in question was never actually published as a book. It was a story on Wattpad and that's how it ended up on Goodreads. If you notice, none of the editions have ISBNs or ASINs.

Wattpad ebooks are considered published by Goodreads. However, as I mention above in my edit, the author can contact Support directly regarding this.

Okay, I will let her know. Thank you!

P.S. sorry for not noticing in the earlier reply

How would I know that cover and isbn belong together? If I merge the edition with isbn's and have to add the isbn to another edition with a cover, I would need proof that is the cover for that isbn.

I believe it still is common practice to add details and cover to the edition with the isbn, and/or correct details that are incorrect. If after correcting there is still a duplicate with the same cover, that duplicate can be merged.

It would need to be checked beforehand, because it is also not allowed to merge/delete an edition with a unique cover. And if it is checked beforehand, you will know that the cover and ISBNs go together.

ETA If an edition with an ISBN is merged, there is proof in the changelog and you can see what happened to it. If an edition with a cover is merged, the cover disappears into nowhere. You will not be able to see later if it had a cover and which cover it was.

There is enough work in this thread already without having to check/add missing essential details like covers. I should have just skipped that post.

I don't mind discussing this elsewhere, but I did say in my original request that one had the cover and the other the ISBNs.

Adding my edited comment #317:

Kerry (geniusscientist) | 70 comments #249 not done, moving isbn's to a different edition is not allowed. How do you know that is the correct cover for that isbn?

My apologies for moving the ISBNs; I had updated the other edition before realizing the one with the ISBNs existed. I moved the ISBNs over because that was easier than entering the other information over again -- I got lazy, but I shouldn't have moved the ISBNs, I apologize (I haven't done any book editing in a few years, but that's not an exuse.)

I am however confident that they are the same edition: it's an Audio CD edition released by Recorded Books in 1993. I don't believe Recorded Books releases multiple versions of their CD audiobooks at the same time (they sometimes update them later with new narrators. They do not release abridged versions).

Here's the listing for the title on the Recorded Books site, showing the same cover image. They only have one version of the book in CD format.
