I’m using any location (I’m possibly using Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil)! I think it’s up to your interpretation.

Hey Nicole! If you look at the 2018 Topics discussion thread, they have threads for each prompt, and you can see what everyone is reading! (Also, I have no idea what I'm reading for any of the elements, because they are tough!)

Nicole, the bookshelf has also been updated for the year. If you click bookshelf on the right, then you can see the shelves for each week. All the books mentioned in either the weekly topics or A-Z have been added to each shelf.

Sorry, we posted at about the same time so I missed your follow-up.
The group home page lists the topics, as Sophie said. The group is basically broken down into plans, weekly topic threads, and A-Z Folders. The plans are individual for each member so you can copy and paste the list (page 1 of this topic) into a new thread ('new topic' at top) to create your own personal plan. Then the "weekly topics" section has a discussion for each week where people list their choices or ask for help finding a book. Finally, the A-Z section is where people discuss specific books. So each section is simply "A", "B", etc. based on title of book.
There are other activities throughout the group but I'm sure you'll figure those out as you go along.

R.K., it's totally up to you and how you want to approach the challenge. I personally am a mood reader so I use it as a checklist. Others like the added challenge of reading in order.
There are two conversations right now for both options:
In order - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Random - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

The A-Z folders are where you can talk about the books you’ve read, or are planning to read, with other members of the group. As people might read a book for different categories this helps keep discussion about a book in one place so people can easily find it and join the discussion.

The original idea was one book per week but if you prefer you’re welcome to read more than one book each week and complete the challenge in less than 52 weeks.

Sheri, if you go to the weekly posts for those topics, on the right hand side of the screen should be a list with all of the books people have chosen and linked to for those categories. You might get some inspiration there :-)

There are also links at the beginning of each topic for ideas.
Good luck :-)

Here's a (more than) few I loved:
39. A book with a form of punctuation in the title
-If on a Winter's Night a Traveler
-The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
-World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
-A Room of One's Own
-Rosemary's Baby
-His Majesty's Dragon
43. A book with a title that is a whole sentence
-The Moon Is Always Female: Poems
-The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down: A Hmong Child, Her American Doctors, and the Collision of Two Cultures
-Their Eyes Were Watching God
-Things Fall Apart
-We Have Always Lived in the Castle
-Tell the Wolves I'm Home
-Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
-We Should All Be Feminists
If you want to be strict about it, I would say no, since graphic novels are a whole genre on their own. That being said, I used a graphic novel, because I never read graphic novels, so it was unique for my reading. I think it’s really your call as to what is unique for you.

Some of us read in order, some of us read out if order, but for me at least the best part of this group is that we cheer each other on. We discuss our books mostly in the A-Z folders, that way it doesn’t matter what prompt you’re reading the book for. There are also the weekly threads for each prompt, which are great to get ideas for what to read.
Hey Maureen!
If you want some insight into how it works for me, I typically finish a book, go to the A-Z folders to discuss it with other people who have read it, then go to the weekly prompts to talk about how it worked for the prompt I chose (I'm reading out of order, so I choose my prompts after I read the book).
I also update my Plan (in the plans folder), which is not necessary if you aren't a planner. And I add my book to our group spreadsheet! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! It looks like I have a bit of catching up to do :)

Also, if the book doesn't have an A-Z discussion folder, can members add a new one?
Thanks for the help!!!

Yes! Just go to the end of the spreadsheet and add your name and your books to the first blank column. The numbers and percentages will update automatically once you add them!

I hope you love it here!
It's also helpful to link the book by entering it in the 'this topic is about' box. Just enter the title and click on the appropriate book from the drop down. That is useful since it links the book to the thread and displays each commenter's rating of the linked book.

Hi Perri!
I haven't read a book for this prompt yet, but my selected options are "The Air Trust" by George Allan England or "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krakauer. Maybe one of those would interest you?
I guess I should go review it on the App Store ..."
The missing words!!!!!!!!! I hate using the app, I can't even read what people are saying. Also the links for books often don't show up if they are used.
