Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments TBR
He Started It by Samantha Downing The Mary Shelley Club by Goldy Moldavsky House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski Gwendy's Final Task by Stephen King

The first 2 are due back to the library on 10/26 and I can't renew again so those are at the tippy top of my list! And a lot of pages so I may only read those. I'm buddy reading HoL (but my buddy already finished it!) so that's next. IF I have time for more (LOL!!), I'd like to finish up Gwendy's story. These are all physical books.

Edit: And if I have even MORE time, or just to read on Sunday, Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King

Stephen King's name may be on the book but he hasn't had anything to do with the trilogy since book 1, except written the Forewords. Richard Chizmar is basically just using his name to sell the trilogy? lol. I mean, I damn well would too! But once book 2 starts, it's stated that it has become just Chizmar's story. And I do still have 36 King books to read that I own! And that reminds me that I meant to add Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King !

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments Heading to bed soonish. Did not sleep well last night and then worked all day, hit the grocery store, fell asleep on the couch. lol. SO! I plan on going to bed between 9-10pm because regardless of anything, I have to wake up at 6am. I'll probably do some of the Insta photos (you can find me here: https://www.instagram.com/winesaboutb...) tomorrow morning because I didn't get a chance to do any preparing this week. Probably not participating in the Bingo but I might glance at it. Probably won't do my usual (is it still usual if you haven't done in over a year?) 4-hour time block check-ins but I haven't decided on that yet either. I haven't chosen an audiobook but I might because I want to do the crochet kit I bought MONTHS ago from Woobles.

Weather is supposed to be a balmy 66 and sunny so I am very excited for that! Mid-end of October in New Hampshire can be VERY unpredictable. Looking to take the doggo for a walk so again, audiobook choice is needed!

Finished The Mary Shelley Club while still on Saturday! Just under the sprint finishing so I haven't started something else yet. I'm going to take a look at the Bingo board because I think I'm doing fairly well on it. So as much as I want to start Cycle of the Werewolf, I think I need to read some of a graphic novel and some of a non-fiction! I was getting tired and I'm still tired but I feel pretty good for it being midnight!

I started my crocheting project from The Woobles around 11pm and needed the step-by-step videos so not conducive for audiobook listening so I put it aside. Now that I've broken it open and started it, I AM excited to do it! I went to bed at 2:30am and woke up at 6am, finished out the 'thon and was back in bed by 8:05am. lol. Got up for the day at 10:45am, showered, reading (naturally), and catching up on social! And we're going out to dinner tonight with my parents.

Overall I'm quite pleased! I didn't participate in any hourly discussions but I did do all the sprints except Hour 20! I did maybe half of the hourly photos on Instagram and I managed a blackout on the Bingo board! I participated more this 'thon than I have in probably the past year's 'thons. It felt good to be back in the social part of it, that's half the fun! Now a bunch of snacks that didn't get eaten to eat throughout the week Woohoo!

Apparently the sprints will just be posted with the hourly discussions under the umbrella of the "Fall 2022 Readathon (Oct 22-23)" thread. I was looking for them in a separate thread since that's how they've always been but not this time. We shouldn't have to dig through old posts or remember what times they are every readathon. It should just stay somewhere visible if it's something that stays the same every readathon. Here is now's sprint at hour 4: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I believe Avid is posting the rest of them to open as each one draws nearer.

True, but a lof of it done last minute. That's why I like this readathon better than the reverse one. It starts at 2pm so I have a lot of time to prepare. Ann A (readerann) | 867 comments Wow, Elyse, you rocked this readathon. Congrats on your Bingo blackout! I'm adding the Michael J. Fox book to my TBR. Another fun aspect of the readathons is adding more books to our already out-of-control stacks ;)

See you in April!

Thank you, Ann! Yes, I love the recommendations! Always Looking Up is *technically* the sequel to Lucky Man, which I haven't read, but he refers to it a lot and I'm not even 100 pages in! There's a lot of "I wrote this in Lucky Man," "I covered this in Lucky Man."
