Hi Elyse. I am also interested in LumberJanes. I borrowed it from Hoopla, but am noting that I can get it on KU and keep my Hoopla for other options. . . .I am planning to read it on large computer screen at local library as will be easier to read than my tablet. . . .See you in August!

Yes, borrow as many as you can from KU so save those Hoopla borrows! KU doesn't have all of them but a definite good chunk of them. I do struggle with reading graphic novels on my laptop. I do like that Hoopla has the hover/zoom feature! And Kindle has the panel by panel feature but sometimes they are one panel and it's the whole page! lol. See you in a week and a half!

Umm I did it. For the first time ever. In my Dewey's history and my life history. I read for 24 hours. I stayed awake for 35 hours. What the hellllll. This is unnatural!! lol. My reading slowed down a lot once it hit like 12pm and there was still 8 hours left. lol. I started another novel and could not focus on it so I switched back to graphic novels and that was good! I went to bed at 8:15pm and slept for 10 hours and that was blissful.

Now I must go and see how everyone else did! I did miss interacting on here but also, I got more reading done and less listening which I liked.

Newly Wardell | 154 comments 1791 pages! That's awesome! Wow you were cooking! You did the whole 24 hours too. I dont know if I did. Reverse is weird because I couldnt catch a nap so I just stayed up. Well about 22 and a half hour mark I read this really depressing poem. Next thing i know I'm getting booped on the nose by the cast of the show Psych. I wake up slumped over like sad littlest mountain. I look at the clock and its 23 hour. I changed books and finished it out. lol

It was quite a challenge nonetheless to set my TBR lol. And 2 of them need to be read in a specific order, so it was a puzzle! 😂

Sporadically but mostly only if someone's looking to do a buddy read in my other GR group. My main focus is during October. I don't read them in any specific order, just whatever tickles my fancy at the time. I haven't touched his 3 newest ones, If It Bleeds, Later, and Billy Summers but I did buy them!

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments Umm, did y'all know there's a readathon in 2 days? Because I can't believe it's here. I'm extremely unprepared! lol. I'm just gonna wing it, probably won't be on here much. I have been in a reading slump all October, mostly just been listening to audiobooks. Hopefully the readathon will pull me out!

My slapdash TBR
Physical
The Ex Hex
Shutter Island
Mexican Gothic
KING
Night Shift
The Green Mile
Everything's Eventual
Gwendy's Button Box (re-read)
Gwendy's Magic Feather

E-Book
The Year of the Witching (currently reading)
The Last House on Needless Street
The Worst Witch
The Worst Witch Strikes Again
A Bad Spell for the Worst Witch

Audio
You Love Me

You can feel the sinister theme!!! lol.

Menu, well, meh. Whatever. Not really planning anything. Will probably get subs or pizza. Usual beverages.

Susan | 986 comments Great books for spooky fall reading! I’ve never read Gwendy’s Button Box or most of the SK but then, it’s not easy to keep up with Stephen King ;). I did read The Green Mile back when it came out. IIRC it was published part by part and is classic Stephen King. Enjoy your stack!

I really need to read Mexican gothic too. I keep planning to for these readathons and its a book of the month Im supposed to read for a challenge on twitter. Why I never start it, dunno. Shutter Island is very good and bleak.

It is a challenge in itself to keep up with King! lol. I'm slowly going through his backlog but also haven't read his 3 latest. The last new one I read was The Institute. Yes, The Green Mile was initially released in 4 parts, I think. I really enjoyed the movie. Good luck on your readathon goals!

I also got it from BOTM, so yeah, I've had it for awhile! lol. I might start with it just to get it going. I've only seen the Shutter Island movie and I only really remember the twist so I'm really interested in reading it. Good luck on your readathon goals!

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments My readathon ended at the top of hour 9 with a migraine that took me out till this morning. Good times. :( I did manage to read 2 books Gwendy's Button Box (The Button Box, #1) by Stephen King Gwendy's Magic Feather (The Button Box, #2) by Richard Chizmar and started a third The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward (about 25%) before succumbing to the pain. I was cruising along very nicely and had not take any breaks in the first quarter of the 'thon so my total hours read stands at 8 hours. I did participate in the hour 1 and hour 4 reading sprints.

I am feeling better today, took a nice, long bath a few hours ago, getting some cleaning and laundry done and have also read another 25% of The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward and about 40 pages of The Meddlesome Ghost (The Lovers of Stanford Abbey, #2) by Sheila Rosalynd Allen .

Hope everyone else had fun, I'll be checking in on the threads probably tomorrow.
