Kate Holbrook | 12 comments Alright peeps, I’m going to do my best here. This is driving me crazy and I feel like I’ve remembered as much as I can, and gone through all my shelves but to no avail.

From what I remember it is a motorcycle club book. The heroine is related to a member, like she is adored by the club. Our love interest/hero has always had interest but never ‘claimed’ her. She is kidnapped in a retaliation move, and her captor did slap her around a bit and let her talk to father/uncle/whoever and she was a total badass like ‘hey they hit me but I’m here and I’m alive and I know you’ll come get me’. So in an attempt to rattler her (and them) the bad guy forcefully touches her and makes someone take a picture of it to send to the fam. There’s a dialog about how broken hearted and beat down she was she absolutely refused to cry or show any pain. When the fam and club see it they freak out and refuse to show the hero because he hadn’t gotten any sleep and was driving himself crazy and they knew he’d go off the rails but he does and in his POV he was thinking about how he loved her and she would never have to deal with darkness like this again and he loved her heart and strength.

Don’t know why this scene stood out to me so much (other than the girl is clearly a badass) but it’s what I remembered and what I started to look/google/go through my books for and I just can’t seem to find it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for reading and any responses !

When did you read this Kate? What format did you read it in--dead tree, electronic, audio? Any memory of the cover? How did you find this particular book--scanning books, it was on the "Our Staff Recommends" shelf in a bookshop/library, blurb on the back, recommended for you (Amazon does that a lot, so does B&N) based on your previous reading/ordering habits, you saw a review of it.

Kate Holbrook | 12 comments I really read a lot (too much, if possible) but I’m pretty certain it was this year. Farthest I’d go back is 2016 but I’m fairly confident on it being this year. I read it on my phone via kindle and I’d like to say that I just found it on here. I don’t browse on amazon very much, I strictly use it to purchase. I feel like it may I have been an author I have already read, but as I said before I already scoured my shelves on here.

Jorja (jorjamaree) | 110 comments Hi Kate, this sounds very familiar to one of my favourite series. Living Without by Lila Rose

I hope it's it. It's very, very similar and if it's not, I'll be shocked.
