July has been my best BR month so far this year. I've already finished 7 books:The Extinction Trials 3 stars
Renegades 4.5 stars
An Ember in the Ashes 5 stars!
Elric 2 stars
Steelheart 4 stars
Marked 5 stars
Mitosis 4 stars
and I've got two more still to go, Sea of Shadows and Three Dark Crowns. Definitely feeling the BR spirit at the moment. Lets hope it continues into August.
Anni wrote: "Wow, good job :) And it seems like you liked most of the books, so it's a double-win!"Thanks Anni! It's been such a great month for me, most of them have been excellent reads.
Siobhan wrote: "Well done, Charlie! Proud of you! :D I know you're not normally a scheduler."I'm really not. I find it so hard to schedule things in advance because by the time it comes around in the schedule I don't want to read it anymore, I fancy something else. I think once the team reading comp is done I'll have some fun picking things off the shelf again.
Yeah I suppose most of the buddy reads you've done have been scheduled last minute. That obviously works best for you. :D
Siobhan wrote: "Well done, Charlie! Proud of you! :D I know you're not normally a scheduler."Stick around here, Potter, and we pansters will all become planners. And I mean that in the positivest way.
Good on ya, Charlie....
Zaara wrote: "Siobhan wrote: "Well done, Charlie! Proud of you! :D I know you're not normally a scheduler."Stick around here, Potter, and we pansters will all become planners. And I mean that in the positivest..."
Thanks! I'm definitely getting more into planning as the year goes on.
Beste wrote: "Hey Charlie,Did you see the Harry Potter schedule around christmas?"
Considering she created the schedule...I'm reckoning...yes...it may ring a vague bell, my darling....
@Charlotte, sorry for pre-empting your amswer. I'm in the mood to chat with Beste....
Yeah, I arranged it! 😀 I'm so excited. I usually reread the series every Christmas but it'll be so fun to do it as a BR and be able to actually talk about the books with someone!Edit: Ha no problem @Zaara!
Heeello 🙋I have nothing meaningful to say, but I saw the new comments and thought I should stop by.
As Virginie's Tracker is the dirty bakery, this should be Platform 9 3/4 :)
Yes!! That is such a good idea! :DDo you think you will join the Harry Potter read, Anni? Charlie is trying to persuade me but I'm not sure.
You think of a title for me, Ghost.Siobhan you should come. Anni as well. Charlie is there and I and fin. Virginie we can cunningly persuade.
I think Manu will also join Book 4 onward.
EDIT: Perfect heartwarming way to end the year, no? With how those books are mainly abt friendship.
Oh and sorry. I know its between you and Anni. Just bringing a little siscouragement to the party.
Siobhan wrote: "Yes!! That is such a good idea! :DDo you think you will join the Harry Potter read, Anni? Charlie is trying to persuade me but I'm not sure."
Dunno... I would love to join you guys but I'm not sure I could keep up with your pace. Maye if I manage to get the audiobooks.
:-O a Harry Potter virgin? I thought the species was nearly extinct...Cancel EVERYTHING else. But come spend Xmas with us. I'm not even supposed to be here in December. My Decembers are sacrosanct amd usually hermit hightide apart from the obligatories.
Still I caved 😂😂😂
EDIT: Anni.....
Please.
Zaara wrote: "You think of a title for me, Ghost.Siobhan you should come. Anni as well. Charlie is there and I and fin. Virginie we can cunningly persuade.

Hmmm... What do you think of 'The Sciscouratorium'? Or is this joke too jaded? 😅
Zaara wrote: ":-O a Harry Potter virgin? I thought the species was nearly extinct...Cancel EVERYTHING else. But come spend Xmas with us. I'm not even supposed to be here in December. My Decembers are sacrosanct..."
Me? I'm not a Virgin at all 😋
I grew up with these books and read them more than once.
Not really jaded, sweetheart but perhaps around Halloween? It does sound like a place where a Mad Scientist would build a monster...And it does also sound like a place where monks would illuminate books...
I love double edges! Heck, I AM double edged...and full of contradictions, my mother always tells me how I am always both opposites at once.
So it is perfect. I will use it on Halloween, I promise. Thks.
Ops... I thought observatorium was an english word, but it's observatory... So you might edit the ending 🙈 But I also thought of a crazy Scientist laboratory and well an observatory. So you want something less... creepy? I will think about it, but I'm not sure my brain is capable of something un-creepy 😂
Anni wrote: "I grew up with these books and read them more than once. "Then won't you go exponentially faster on re-read? I zip thru rereads and hardly stop to comment which is my problem with them....
Sorry got distracted...I was siscourating Elinor's tracker....😈 come look at it. I think it looks very pretty now.If a word existed in Latin, it prolly exists in English so observatorium may well have. Still...I love nonsense words. I love Roald Dahl.
And I love ❤️ creepy.
Well, not creeps.
But creepy can turn out jezzt fine....so don't worry...😂😂😂 GHOST
I think we should f.o. before Charlie's politeness is overextended. Thank you for letting us play here, Potter.
I hope you've all enjoyed your stay at the Ravenclaw Common Room, reviews can be left with the house elves on the way out.
Zaara wrote: "Anni wrote: "I grew up with these books and read them more than once. "Then won't you go exponentially faster on re-read? I zip thru rereads and hardly stop to comment which is my problem with th..."
Not at all... I'm not a fast reader and on rereads I try to find aspects of the story I hadn't noticed before, so I'm as slow as ever ;) Only audiobooks make me read faster...
Charlie wrote: "I hope you've all enjoyed your stay at the Ravenclaw Common Room, reviews can be left with the house elves on the way out."5 stars. I told them already.
Well, if you have chosen your name, you should change your thread title, like Anni and Vriginie have done.
😉

I will! Great idea!
That's it, I've finished my final buddy read of the month bringing my total to 9. The best month I've had since I joined this group!!
Charlie wrote: "I hope you've all enjoyed your stay at the Ravenclaw Common Room, reviews can be left with the house elves on the way out."Atmosphere: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 quite cozy, love the open fireplace and the books everywhere
Reputation: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Good, but I heared the Gryffindor Common Room is better at throwing parties
Cleanliness 🌟🌟🌟 Could be a little better - There are cat-hairs everywhere and someone left his/her books and paperwork all over the place.
Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Nothing to complain about
Food: Maybe we could order something from the bakery?
Companionship: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Outstanding ;)
Likely to Recommend? Yes!
Likely to Return? For sure!
She actually filled a form! Gotta love this ghost. Wonder which common room she calls home....
EDIT you should totally order something from the bakery....

The sorting Hat says I'm Ravenclaw too, so the cat-hair and paper chaos might be my fault :P
I'm a Ravendor. Its how I got past the riddle on the door to get in here...Hi Anni. Just read your post about reading speed today. Sorry I missed it yest.
Anni wrote: "Hahaha, the Riddle at the Ravendoor? 😜Nevermind, it's not like that was an important statement :D"
Meanwhile,,,,we are EXTENSIVELY PREPPING to read a book called Ravensong.
😂
Charlie wrote: "That's it, I've finished my final buddy read of the month bringing my total to 9. The best month I've had since I joined this group!!"Sorry, the actual Tracker-related message got a little lost... But that's great! Well done :)

Ahdam wrote: "Well I’m confused now when did everyone get sorted into houses......and where can I get my house "In general you could visit the Harry Potter homepage and let the sorting hat decide which house you belonge to.
For your Tracker, you can name it anything 😂 Something filmrelated might suit you even better ;)
Hmm now I might have an idea for a title I’m also thinking about a name for a production company I might make my films under if I do make any 😂😂
How about trisword productions 😂😂😂😂😂😂
