Ashleigh | 3391 comments Okay soooo I'm thinking

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1) by Gena Showalter - 5th

The Fever A Novel by Megan Abbott - 9th

Only Daughter by Anna Snoekstra - 11th

Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough - 26th

What are your thoughts Jasmine?

message 55: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 3391 comments You know the series buddy reads, can you join in and only read one of the books in series? I've read the first two books and the first novella in the Shatter Me series, and I want to read the third one for this challenge (if it fits, I don't know haha). Would that be alright? I don't have to read all the previous books, do I?

message 56: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) Uhh I have no idea.. I think maybe? I mean I see some people comment that they will join at a certain book.. so I'd assume yes?

message 57: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) Woohoo I have another BR set. If you guys want to join you definitely can!!

The Girl at Midnight (The Girl at Midnight, #1) by Melissa Grey on October 4th.

message 58: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 3391 comments I'll ask someone somewhere if I can just read the third book for this BR.

message 60: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 3391 comments Great! I'll request the threads now :)

message 61: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 3391 comments Oh, and I forgot to say Alaina, I'll join in on the following of your BRs:

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

One Dark Throne (Three Dark Crowns, #2) by Kendare Blake

Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3) by Tahereh Mafi (series)

message 62: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) haha that's all good. I would've figured it out anyways :) But YAY! I love reading people's comments

Jasmine (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ | 75 comments I'll probably be joining in on Cry Wolf and The Girl at Midnight too- not sure just yet! I've been meaning to read something by Patricia Briggs for a while

message 64: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) I'm super excited to read some Patricia Briggs 😬😬 or any of the books for next months challenge. I just need to get my hands on the damn game of thrones book. People are so slow at returning library books. 😩

Jasmine (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ | 75 comments Haha I guess a lot of people are hogging the game of thrones book because I'm also waiting for it to finally come in- I even checked both in my area 😕

OMG same! I keep checking my library's website. I'm about to just beg people for the book. Or I could just buy it on amazon :(

message 67: by Rae (new)

Rae Lake | 2207 comments Numbers (Numbers, #1) by Rachel Ward

Would anyone like to Buddy read this with me?

message 68: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Alaina- you should just go to a bookstore near you and sit there all day, you'd probably finish game of thrones in like 5 hours lol

message 69: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) HAHAHAHA don't tease me. It will happen

message 70: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I've done it quite a few times for new releases I knew I couldn't get from the library and didn't have money to spend :P

message 71: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) I'm waiting for this huge Barnes and noble to open up near me. It will have a coffee bar and an actual bar. So I'll be spending time there to read books.

message 72: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments That sounds perfect!!!!

message 73: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) I know right?!?! It was supposed to be built and running a year ago--so I'm really excited for it to finally open

message 76: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 3391 comments No, 20th is one the few days I don't have anything planned haha.

I can request the thread but it'll be in a couple of hours when I get home from work, if that's fine?

Alaina (ameserole) Hello Emily!!

message 82: by Emily (new)

Emily | 352 comments Let's see, I have a few BR's scheduled for this month. Turns out a couple I scheduled are with Alaina. And a couple Rick Riordan rereads.

Oct 1 - The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo, #1) by Rick Riordan

Oct 2 - The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan

Oct 7 - Now I Rise (The Conqueror's Saga, #2) by Kiersten White

Oct 12 - The Star-Touched Queen (The Star-Touched Queen, #1) by Roshani Chokshi

I'm planning on doing A Court of Thorns and Roses but my team hasn't chosen a date yet. I will also continue with series threads for Firebolt (Book 5) and Snow Like Ashes (Book 3+).

Also, was someone reading A Game of Thrones this month? I want to read it soon, so if you choose a date, I'll join you.

Ashleigh | 3391 comments Hey guys. So in the UK, it is officially 1st October and has been for the last 2 hours or so.

And I'm currently lying wide awake debating whether to try to start my first book, or to attempt to get some sleep. You see, Netflix has just adapted one of Stephen King's books, Gerald's Game. Anyone heard of it? So my boyfriend and I decided to watch it. Watching a film about a woman chained to a bed for just under 2 hours? Psh, no problem.

Nope. That film is absolutely terrifying. I'm not a big horror fan, but I thought what can be so scary about this premise? Even though I am currently scared out of my brains, I really really enjoyed it and I'm thinking of picking up the book in October (yup, I'm a terrible person who sometimes watches adaptations without reading the books), if anyone fancies doing it as a BR?

It's okay I am currently reading Desperation by Stephen King and just watched the movie before finishing lol- I couldn't help myself. Anyways I'll read it with you!

Jasmine (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ | 75 comments Would the 13th work for you?

message 88: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 3391 comments Yeah I think so, I'll request the thread and the one for the book from the other day that i can't remember if I requested or not in a couple of minutes. Not at my computer at the moment.

Woohooo! So ready!

message 91: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) Hey!!

I'm just going to warn you guys that I'm probably going to read a crapload of books and then post their reviews within the next couple of days. I don't think I'll be able to read a lot this upcoming weekend. My boyfriend is coming into town for his birthday (this friday), then we are going to his brothers wedding on Saturday, and then my brothers birthday is also Saturday but we are celebrating on Sunday.

So I'm trying to get a lot of my BR's out the way before my crazy weekend approaches.

message 92: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 3391 comments Alaina, I'm amazed at how many books you've managed to read over the first couple of days already haha! How do you do it??

message 93: by Rae (new)

Rae Lake | 2207 comments Hey All!!! Didn't want you to think that I was slacking! I have a few books down! Will get them on the review page on thur or fri

message 94: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) @ashleigh I have a ton of library books due soon so that’s a huge motivator for me 😂😂

@rae oh no. I don’t think any of you guys are slacking!! I know you’re all reading but extremely busy at the same time. I’m just sitting at home twiddling my thumbs.

I also just didn’t want you guys to get the wrong impression of me too. ☹️ Because of my friendly competition with people in Team Carrie. I can’t wait for you guys to post. I love reading your reviews!! 😜

message 95: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) WOW way to post Rae!!! I can't wait to read your reviews!!

message 96: by Rae (new)

Rae Lake | 2207 comments phew, done for now
