I also think you can add an answer to the list. If not, post your choice at bottom of the poll and I will transfer it tomorrow.

Re: Oct. side read - PI's, head to poll list of books we used for the main read. Noms are in (note: as there was a last minute change on my part, and if you just have to, have to, have a last min. add on, that's okay. Just add it either to that list or here and it will be tabulated to side read total. You may also change your previous vote either on that page or here and it will be also be added in.

https://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/1...

For side read, so far we've one for Witches' Tree and I believe there's another change coming for Scared Stiff to a different title. That's fine. I believe the side read pick cutoff is for late night 29th. Break the tie. Vote. ;-) Thanks!

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments Tina, when do we start reading the October selection? :-)

Nicole, my book is ordered but I won't receive it 'til about Oct. 5. But we can remedy this by...

I can start the heading off and you lot can start the discussion w/out me (just for those few days) or if someone wants to start it off, I can take over ASA I get my book or we can just wait 'til about the 5th. What do you PI's want to do about Oct. title start date?

No side read?? PI's, we have a tie in our side read pick and I don't feel it's right for me to make the final choice. Can we get one more vote? That would help tons. Thanks.

message 56: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments Tina, it won't allow me to vote for the side read. I'm not participating but I can put the two names in a hat and draw one, lol!

Re: start date - it doesn't matter to me, I was just checking! We can hold off....then maybe we'll finish closer to Halloween. :-)

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments I'll go for Witch's tree if it helps to decide. I was planning on reading it at some point!

Thanks both Nicoles! I hope there wasn't an air of pressure about but if you're good with witches' tree then I am too. (Big surprise, huh?). lol

Okay, I'll get on it. Placing my order though
it's not in release yet but I know you PI's know where to get early copies. ;-). Start it mid- October okay?

As for T or T, are there 38 chapters plus prologue and epilogue? Did I see this right? I can do a rough break down just to get it started.

Tina, that is right, for T&T. Chapters 1-11 is about one third of the book, if that helps.

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments Okay on Witches' Tree - got it!

Thanks, Pghfan. It does! So you feel that the first section of Prologue to 11 is a fair count? If so, we can start on that.

BTWay, did you read book just before Witches' Tree? I've read all the Raisins but that one. Have it ordered should I need to read it before Witches' Tree.

message 64: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments I've only read the first one, but I've seen all the tv episodes. :-)

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments Yup, I've read all the newer Raisins but might have missed a few older ones.

What did you think of the book? The movies? Do you like "Aggie?" I understand she prefers being called Agatha. lol

Taking a mini head count: How many for Witches' Tree side read?

I'm in!

Should there only be two PI's participating, I know a group that will be read/discuss Witches' Tree. We could join them though I'd prefer to discuss it here. (Unless it's okay w/the two then we'll stay here). Holding out hope for at least three. :-)

message 69: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments I read it about two months ago, I don’t have time to read it again this month, but I’m happy to skim through and participate in the discussion… Can I do that? :-)

Sure, Nicole. You've read it and it's still participating. Purr-fect!

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments I figure I can read as much as I want on Friday night because I don't have to go to bed early and get up for work the next morning. Sometimes with these books I stay up WAY past my bedtime lol

I know. Some keep us up all night where others put us to sleep. lol

message 80: by PugMom (new)

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments The last book that put me to sleep was Casual Vacancy. I didn't get past 50 pages before I had to bring it back to the library unfinished!!!

I use to read a book through no matter how I felt about it but now I let the ones I don't favor go and move to next. Preserving my time and sight for other things.

Allison | 905 comments So now I'm thinking let's have some fun with the "bad books" discussion - what's the worst book you ever finished and what's the book you put down?

I see NicoleG has mentioned The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling as one she returned unfinished.

message 85: by PugMom (new)

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments Let me think...
Oh, I tried to listen to The Night Circus on audio book and could NOT get through it. I don't know if the story was just too slow or the narrator was too annoying.

I'm thinking, I'm thinking...

Sorry, but I just couldn't finish a Nagio Marsh book (forgot the title). The dialogue of one character was so laden with implied accent that I was reading sentences over and again, not getting the meaning of them. I couldn't read any length at a time to get gist of story so I just gave up.

PI's, do we have a start date on Witches' Tree? No rush, just wonderin'. I have some notes I can pop up just to make it easier to hoist the page.

Yes it is!! Can't believe how the year just seemed to fly by yet it's the same number of days, hours, minutes as previous years (give or take a day with Leap Year ). These past few years seem short a few months.
