Samantha (sgiffin) | 146 comments 1. Where do you live?
Myrtle Beach -- and it's finally the end of Tourist Season! Hoorah!

2. What is your first book you remember reading?
Make Way for Ducklings

3. What is your favorite genre? Least favorite?

4. Who is your oldest friend on goodreads?
Had to actually look this one up: Jenni B, a friend from college

5. Name one book you totally hated?
Wuthering Heights or Cold Mountain or Nothing But the Truth These are the only three books I have legitimately harsh feeling towards. I keep telling myself to re-read them because I can't possibly have really hated them that much, but... ugh.

Edgar Allan Poe

The Well of Lost Plots from The Well of Lost Plots

8. Is there a book that you have tried reading multiple times but never can finish?
There are several. Especially anything by James Joyce or Ayn Rand.

My grandparents. They read to me always as a baby, and had substantial kid-book libraries for whenever we visited them.

10. Name a book that made you emotional?
I can't think of a specific one, but I tend to get emotional at tragedy involving animals or end-of-life/elderly love stories.

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments 1. Where do you live? In the country in Dinwiddie, Virginia. It is south of Richmond, VA.
2. What is your first book you remember reading?I'm thinking of when my sister read to me when I was little. It would have been Lamont the Lonely Monster. A book I read on my own was probably a Judy Blume book or Beverly Cleary.
3. What is your favorite genre? Least favorite? I don't know if I have a complete favorite. I read a lot of YA and science fiction, classics. Least favorite might be chicklit.
4. Who is your oldest friend on goodreads? It would probably be my friend from high school Brian Brantley. He was automatically friended with facebook.
5. Name one book you totally hated?Eat, Pray, Love - although I thought her actual writing was pretty.
6. Name your all time favorite author? Honestly I'm not sure I have one. I get fickle. I read a certain genre or author for awhile and then I get bored and switch up.
7. If you could live in any place from a book where would it be? Honestly I think in the Twilight world just because I'd like to be immortal........
8. Is there a book that you have tried reading multiple times but never can finish? no not really. It will take me awhile if I hate it but I'll finish it. There were a couple of books I fought to the ending for and then I found there was a surprise that turned my thinking on the book.
9. What or who got you interested in reading? I'd have to say my sister just from reading to me when I was little. And then my mom used to get her hair done every week at the mall and I'd go to the bookstore.
10. Name a book that made you emotional? It Ends with Us and Me Before You

message 178: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Brown | 371 comments I know we don't need anymore comments, but I wanted to do this anyway!

1. Where do you live?
Camden, DE. It is right outside Dover, and we are glad tourist season is over too. The locals can now act like tourists.

2. What is your first book you remember reading? Probably Goodnight Moon. I have very fond memories of Archie comics, The Babysitters Club, and American Girl Books also.

3. What is your favorite genre? Least favorite?
Oh I like so many! I enjoy sci- fi, thrillers, mystery, ya, Christian fiction, you name it. I don't like steamy romances and have to really be in the mood for a non fiction.

4. Who is your oldest friend on goodreads?
I don't know. Sadly I don't have too many friends on here. Most of my real life friends either don't read, or aren't on Goodreads. If anyone wants to add me, I am happy to see what everyone is reading!

5. Name one book you totally hated?
The Scarlet Letter. I actually changed English classes because of it.

6. Name your all time favorite author?
This is tough too, but I will go with either Iris Johansen or Hugh Howey.

7. If you could live in any place from a book where would it be?
Maybe Atlanta with Eve Duncan or Bloomington with the Baxters.

8. Is there a book that you have tried reading multiple times but never can finish? Not that I can remember.

9. What or who got you interested in reading? My mom is a huge reader. She has read over a 1000 books this year so far!

10. Name a book that made you emotional? Oh so many- Marley & Me, The Fault in Our Stars, Book Thief, The Last Lecture, etc.
