My to-read list is nearly growing out of control--I blame it on all the awesome fantasy book covers as I peek into book stores--so I have a lot of catching up to do starting this month. So far I've devoured the pages of Sanderson's Words of Radiance (storms, it was epic!!) and Feist's Silverthorn, and am currently enjoying Ende's The Neverending Story. Afterwards I will read through The Catcher in the Rye by Salinger, The Fall of Arthur by Tolkien, and hopefully be able to finish The Name of the Wind by Rothfuss as well.
Epic is right! And the covers are pretty awesome too. If you have time you could also throw in The Wise Man's Fear!

As a precaution, I already have it waiting among the other books on my shelf, so I will at least make a start!
I stopped reading Royal Assassin for a bit to read Half a King. Decent book, but not to my tastes; to cater for the YA crowd, Abercrombie diluted his story a bit too much for me.
Here's my review
Back to Royal Assassin!

Back to Royal Assassin!
Just finished Lion of Senet. It was a remarkably fast read for me and very well done. It also has the distinction of infuriating me more than any book in recent memory. The first 60% had me thinking it was a relatively light read after Mistborn, despite some sinister undertones everything was going decently well. Mrs. Fallon then proceed to destroy my illusions of the lightheartedness of the book in the last third, leaving all my favourite characters in terrible spots going forward. I can't remember the last time I read a book where a character's life went so badly so quickly, without me having even a hint it might be coming. Suffice to say it was an excellent read and I'm heading straight into the next book Eye of the Labyrinth, in fact I think it just finished downloading on my Kobo, so if you'll excuse me…

I own Black Prism, Amulet of Samarkand, Elantris and now they're calling me. What to read next...

Finished Fever Dream and am moving on to Cold Vengeance, again by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. They're kind of cheesy, but they sure do keep me turning the pages (or electronic analog thereof).

Is that the new Anthony Ryan? Thinking about that one. Still rereading The Curse of the Mistwraith.
Das Glasperlenspiel by H. HesseJulius Caesar by W. Shakespeare
The House of the Dead, Dostoyevsky
and (edit) rereading
Shadow of Night, D. Harkness
Library work>
The Life of Oscar Wilde by Hesketh Pearson

I did too!
Finished Royal Assassin earlier, dived headlong into Assassin's Quest immediately. I will forever kick myself for not reading these incredibly brutal books before now.

They are excellent. The ship's trilogy is different but equally entertaining. Then the next trilogy.....

I'm really enjoying em so far. Going to be reading all in publication order to fully enjoy my ARC of Fool's Assassin.

I'm reading Black Sun Rising by C.S. Friedman. It's is very good so far and I've already bought the next two books.

I finished Eye of the Labyrinth, it was one of those sequels that is surprisingly better than the first book. Fallon's work is very much character centred and I think it's phenomenal. I'm now onto the final book in the trilogy Lord of the Shadows.

So far this month I've read:The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August (2014) by Claire North 5*
I Am Legend (1954) by Richard Matheson 3*
The Last Policeman (The Last Policeman #1) (2012) by Ben H. Winters 5*
The Sword-Edged Blonde (Eddie LaCrosse #1) (2007) by Alex Bledsoe 3*
and I've just started next month's BOTM:
Prince of Fools (The Red Queen’s War #1) (2014) by Mark Lawrence
Liking it so far.
Something very very old... but still fresh for me. Stephen King's It. I've had this book for years, but I've never got around to finish it and had to re-read it abour 3 times (with around 1500 pages, it requires some time) but this time I'm going to finish it for good.

I just finished the Lord of the Shadows, the immensely satisfying conclusion to the second sons trilogy. Usually when I finish a book or series I'm excited to go onto reading something else, however once in a while I just feel like I've lost something now that I can't keep reading about the characters I've come to love. This is one of those books where I feel like something has been lost. While i think I'm going to read The Alloy of Law next, I look forward to returning to Mrs. Fallon's work in the near future with one of her other 4 or 5 series.

Cold Vengeance ended on a complete cliffhanger, so it's on to Two Graves (still by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child), which should close this particular chapter of Agent Pendergast's increasingly tortured existence.

I finished The Giver the other day. I hadn't read it since junior high, so I didn't remember much. I probably appreciate it more now. Great, powerful read.

Read Elantris, then The Emperor's Blades. Now reading Assassin's Apprentice. Will start Tower Lord next. July has been a very good month!

Finished up Assassin's Quest. Disappointing ending to a wonderful trilogy. Times like this I really wish GR had half stars. Here's my review
I'm going on to some DarkFuse stuff, and I want to finish The Time Ships also.

It's been an amazing ride. I especially enjoy the Multiplicity of Histories theories and how it comes into play constantly through out the story. And then there's the fact that the entire thing is written in the same style as Wells' classic itself.
Also really interesting to read was how time travel came into play during WW2. Talk about escalation.

      Read two short DarkFuse novellas.
The first, Savage pretty much sucked. I think that's the first story from DarkFuse I didn't enjoy. Was bound to happen eventually. Here's my review
And then there was Ceremony of Flies, which was pretty fun. Not fond of the ending, but the protag has got to be one of the best written female characters I've ever read. Here's my review
I'm finishing The Time Ships today, don't want to drag it out any longer; hopefully the conclusion is as incredible as the beginning was.

My time with Agent Pendergast begins to draw towards a close -- I finished Two Graves, read Extraction (a short story) and just started his most recent adventure, White Fire. All by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. After which I'll be ready for something completely different.

I've not read much in fantasy. Recently finished the Darth Bane novel from Star Wars. Reading a Frank Peretti novel, Illusion, and listening to Killing Lincoln.

I finished Prince of Fools last night. It was great and I enjoyed it more than the Broken Empire trilogy. Where's the next book?So now I'm finishing off the Dragon Throne trilogy with The Archons of the Stars
I finished The Alloy of Law finally. It was a very slow read for me considering the size of the book and the amount of free time I have on my hands right now. To be fair part of that is because of been spending more time reading graphic novels lately, but there's a reason that the graphic novels caught my attention instead of Alloy of Law. Definitely not Sanderson's best work and not on the same scale of the original Mistborn trilogy at all. It was a pretty basic crime novel with the type of plot line you'd expect. That said the three main characters were all fascinating and just being able to read about them made it a decent read. Guess that wraps up July.
Just finished The Buried Life by Carrie Patel. Good stuff. I can see why there's a lot of hype behind it.
Here's my review

Finished:The Sandman, Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes
The Sandman, Vol. 2: The Doll's House
From these books, a good series. I think that I will continue.
Now I'm reading The Regulators. Some month ago I read Desperation and I see with pleasure that there are the same characters.
I know I'm a little late with this..... but I read Shattering the Ley by Joshua Palmatier. I'd been anticipating this book for a while and I really enjoyed it....

I have just finished Hard Magic it was good, not deep but well written, several interesting characters and A magic system that reminds me of Mistborn: The Final Empire but with a different source and A larger range of abilities.I have started The Hero and the Crown.
