The Ice Limit Buddy Read

If you would like to join our buddy read for The Ice Limit, please join us! This is more of a technical thriller but we're going through the Pendergast series right now and The Ice Limit has been suggested to read between Still Life With Crows and Brimstone.

I am excited since I read this so recently - I will be better in discussions.

Definitely a different direction than any of the others I had read before. My money is on Child having more influence on this one than Preston.

Up to Ch New York City (6) - So far the book has been interesting. It looks like the authors are setting up the plot and getting ready for an excursion to find the biggest meteorite EVAH! And they are assembling a team together.

This tanker sounds pretty cool!

I really like, at the end of chapter 12 (June 26, 12:55am) (view spoiler)[ the cool story about captain Britton's ancestor. A great white beast on the Antarctic ice that tears the surviving sailors apart, and her ancestor is the only one who survives?! Wow. (hide spoiler)]

At least we learn what The Ice Limit is in reference to!

Sorry guys. Im gonna have to bail on this one. I kept getting confused with everyone's comments and have now realized that Im reading Beyond the Ice Limit....lol. Who knew right? Should have known he wouldnt write just one. So ill continue to read it probably and just lurk here since i basically know what happens now in this book.

I'm really getting into this book now. As soon as they got on the high seas, it started to suck me in. I know they had to set up the plot in the beginning but I'm glad to finally being doing the excursion!
First thoughts, I'm on Rolvaag July 3, 2:15pm chapter by the way.
I like the characters of Britton, McFarlane and can't figure out Glinn still. He's a tough one to crack is my thoughts.
Can't stand Amira though (makes me think of the chick from Thunderhead, Sloane) and of course the uptight ass engineer who seems super uncomfortable on this journey.
Are you liking the book so far?
