Max (maxv) | 11 comments I currently use Adobe Digital Editions to read epubs on my PC. It's good for text but it doesn't show illustrations fully. It's frustrating to see maps and stuff getting cut off in the middle. Can someone recommend an ebook reader (for epub format) that is illustration-friendly? As in I can view the whole thing on one page or on full screen?

Krazykiwi | 105 comments I think I've tried every single one and find fault with nearly all of them. I usually just end up reading in the Calibre built in e-book viewer, but the new capability in Microsoft Edge is actually pretty nice and does a good job on epubs. There's a nice plugin for Google Chrome called Readium that does a nice job, and probably something similar for Firefox. Since epubs are essentially html in a zip file, browsers and browser plugins tend to do a pretty good job with them.

If you can find a download of it, the old Nook reader from B&N (particularly the Nook Study version) is really nice. They discontinued it years ago, but it still works if you have it installed. Particularly worth the effort searching it out if you want to do annotations or highlighting (you can export your annotations in a doc, it's super nice for non-fiction.)

And pretty often I just stick them in Google Play--you can have up to 1000 of your own books uploaded there at a time, it's not only for books purchased on the service--so if I want to I can continue reading on another device if I want.

Freda has great reviews too, probably worth a try.

Trike I like Calibre, but I can't recall offhand if I've ever read a book that had a map or diagram in it, so I can't speak to that.

John My wife uses Kobo. She has a reader but she can move between her PC and her phone seamlessly. She likes it a lot.

Calibre is fine for diagrams, I sometimes use it to convert it to docx file and saving the diagram from there.

Max (maxv) | 11 comments I downloaded Calibre. It opens pictures on a separate screen and I can view it infullscreen. Not the ideal situation but it's better than nothing. Thanks for all the recommendations.
