I searched the keyword Owl and did not see the book I am looking for. This book I read between 12-13 years ago and it is YA Fantasy. It is about a girl who watches one of her teachers at night (creepy yes), has black blood, and can change into an owl. That is really all I can remember and I swear the title is Owl but that is really hard to go by alone. I am not sure when it was published but I believe it was close to the time I read it. I have no idea what was on the cover but either an owl or its wings sounds about right.

Writing down your query helps identify keywords. Glad it was an easy one to identify. Sometimes the simplest search can find it. In the above case I used a couple phrases in quotes.
