Tamlin I can tell is a good guy, I am sure any other high fae wouldn't treat Freya as good as he is, even if he is a little curt! Lucien by far my most favorite character so far!!! The sarcasm!

Especially with the paintings instead of the books, I feel so bad for Lucien! His boo was killed right in front of him because the pops didn't think he was worthy, talk about an exaggeration!

Chapter 22- 31 (view spoiler)[ I love Tamlin, I love him. Who is this Amarantha bastard!!! I don't know what kind of power she has but I need her to die already! I wonder why Nesta wasn't affected? And where did Lucien and Tamlin go?

Chapter 32-41 (view spoiler)[ so Amarantha takes Tamlin as her slave, and you know what everything would have been fine if Freya would have just told him that she loved him! BUT NOOOOOOO!!!!
So finally after she is chillin at home for a few days she goes back and finds out that Tamlin and Lucien are gone and now you want to be all sad.
I think Rhys is actually trying to help and he hates Amarantha just as much as everyone else! I need to know if Tamlin is ok, I need to know! I can't.... why did it end like that! I need to know! (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Oh my goodness... how did I not know this was a Beauty and the Beast story? Seriously my favorite fairy tale EVER. Even more excited for this series.

I've read so many Beauty and the Beast retellings but I don't think I've ever (view spoiler)[ disliked Beauty's sisters more. What the heck is wrong with this family? I can't quite figure out why they hate her so much when she's feeding them and making their lives even possible. I'd seriously be telling Nesta to chop her own bleeding wood or she could just be cold and eat raw meat.

Actually I'm not quite sure what's wrong with her father either. Why in the world would he tell her to never come back? Is it some weird I-love-you-and-I-want-better-for-you-but-I'm-completely-unable-to-convey-that-in-appropriate-form? Weird

For that matter, I'm not convinced I understand the Fae here either. Why in the world would he be so mad at her for killing his friend and then turn around and basically give her sanctuary? So many questions. So curious. (hide spoiler)]

I love the book. Maas is doing a good job worldbuilding, and even her non-main characters have some depth and substance to them. I must admit though, as much as I like it, and I like the romance, etc. I still have a big nagging problem with (view spoiler)[ Tam's treatment of Fayre. It just doesn't quite make sense. He's so concerned about not being like his family, but why isn't he? The Fae are, including in this story, depicted overall as cruel, self-indulgent and shallow. That is mythologically accurate. I keep wondering if he's half human or something, or why being Fae is something that he seems to be able to put on and off. He's almost too human -- he's kind of like Edward... totally inhuman to make him hot, except really he's just an amazing human with superpowers. Edward used to be human; he sort of has an excuse, but I'm not sure what Tamlin's is. (hide spoiler)] Nevertheless, I'm going to miss both of them when this story is over. Glad there are two more :)

Meyer did it much more organically in Lunar Chronicles I thought. (hide spoiler)] Doesn't change me loving this story -- it will be a reread and possibly a purchase. I might even get this one for my mother.

He can be cruel and he's of course working toward his own ends but he's not necessarily completely heartless. I was hoping, hoping that the two Fae Feyre had to murder were somehow not actually murdered, like they were fake or glamours or something but it looks like that was real. And Nesta's really okay hm? (hide spoiler)] Glad I can start the new one very soon because it's hard to be excited about reading anything else. I gave it five stars even with the minor issues because it really is a great story.

Far out instead history. I can’t believe how tamlin killed rhysands father and then Rhysand and tamlin looked at each other and realised they were both the high lords. So crazy how they become that from that big massacre. (hide spoiler)]

I don't love it so far, I think because Feyre is so uncomfortable in her own skin that it's not fun to read about it -- makes me uncomfortable and itchy too ;) (hide spoiler)] This book has way too much of a Twilight-y feel to it so far.

Yeap, really like Rhys. He's got the snap and snark Feyre needs. Seriously though, (view spoiler)[ so Twilight-y, the whole thing with Tamlin. I can't quite figure out if I buy that he's the bad guy. Maybe so. And I'm not positive Rhys is the spotless hero. I love the evolution of Feyre's powers though -- not sure if that makes her a little god-mod or not but it's cool to watch it happening. Why did the Weaver figure out she was there though? She only touched the ring and Rhys said if she got the right item the Weaver wouldn't notice. I'm also curious to learn (if we do) what the ring does and why Rhys' mother took it away from him and put it in a place where he would never be able to retrieve it. (hide spoiler)] Questions, questions. I think I like this story better than the first one though.

I think I'm just having a lot of trouble with (view spoiler)[ the disconnect between Tamlin and Feyre. This is supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime, she's the one that will break the curse, bring-people-back-from-the-dead love... it is somewhat irritating to me that all of a sudden they don't seem to know each other at all and can't find any common ground, and he's an idiot and kind of a jerk.
