I cannot blame you, Vanessa. LOL, I'm pretty much the same. And to be honest, the wholy blood business is always repeated throughout the series, so it must be important. "He bled for you, but you bled for me" and all that jazz. It just doesn't feel like random stuff.

Something I've always thought about involving the blood vs. tears thing, is that with tears, one isn't really doing anything. Usually when you cry, you've either given up, feel hopeless; it's like the last resort thing almost, unless you're crying whilst accomplishing something. But with blood you haven't given up the fight, with blood there's no way in all of Wonderland you're giving up.I think blood is stronger in this case.

I haven't yet heard of people mixing tears to symbolize a bond. And Sydney, that's absolutely right. :)

This series is not a sci-fi, it is fantasy HEAVILY based on romance. In my experience, there is a very slim chance that knowing the future might change it. I already read one YA series with a couple of prophesies in it, and they all came true, even if the characters tried to avoid one of those prophesies very hard.
You know, sometimes trying to change the future can make it happen that much sooner ;) Just saying )))
As for Morpheus's actions based on knowing his future, well, between the time he saw the vision himself and the time Alyssa saw it passed about 3 weeks of time and a lot of action on his part, and nothing changed. It is still the same vision he saw back all those weeks ago. So maybe it doesn't matter what he or Alyssa might do, that are still destined.

And those words. I've been thinking about them too and praying that Morph didn't mean himself. But then, in Unhinged, in another piece of his lullaby, he said
«Little blossom trapped in between,
wearing malice like a queen;
hide the truth, be cruel and tart,
still all the more, you rule my heart.»
So probably the first time he really meant Jeb, not himself. Because it would be really weird on his part to speak about himself in 3rd person.
I'm just curious, what are your "valid points" for Jeb? I just can't see any in the story.

@ Diane: Okay. But in my mind "good qualities" do not equal "reasons to end up with", though. My burning hatred for Jeb aside, the way the story goes, I just don't see him with Alyssa. It would be such a cop out.

Oh, that sacrifice. A pet peeve of mine ))) I think it was the most stupid thing to do. Even while I was reading Splintered for the first, I was still shocked by the horrendous decision he made. For me, he took "stupid" on a whole new level.
@ Diane: The novella didn't help any. If possible, his POV made it look even worse. I'll reply about the sacrifice a bit later, with quotes, to make my point clear.

I wasn't saying you do. . . .I just meant putting the actual spoiler instead of the word won't do anything. It was more my being silly than anything. I apologize since I believe I have offended you and I had no intention of doing so.

Okay. . . .I do sometimes (maybe even often) try to help but end up sounding condescending, so I figured this was one of the times and that I ought to apologize.

I'm so conflicted @__@On one hand, Alyssa has the human realm, a place she's struggled to fit in for a very long time. However, she also has ambitions; she has a mother, a father. She has best friends. She has Jeb, whom she's known for so long.
But then, her ambitions are so tied to Jeb's. Is her art perhaps just a passion? I can't imagine her wanting to go to these fancy art galleries, selling parts of her soul. Have we seen a lot of Alyssa's ambitions--that don't involve Wonderland, nor Jeb?
On the subject of her parents, I'm sure they love her enough to let her go...
I don't know what I'm trying to say; basically, I guess, that though Alyssa is tied to the human realm, she's not tied so terribly as that it would be impossible to leave it.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this, other than perhaps I'm thinking too much with my own heart rather than how Alyssa must see things. Because of personal struggles, because I can't imagine leaving Wonderland. It just makes me so sad; all of the different versions I've read and watched: they always return.
I have hope for Alyssa; part of her belongs to Wonderland.

@Sydney, I agree with what you've written under spoiler. Besides, A.G. said that he is THE ONLY one who can have this future with Alyssa and she likes that it makes him so unique. So how am I as a reader supposed to understand her words other than an affirmation? Something else than hope? Sure she just can't take it away. Not from Morpheus, not from us readers. She said herself in that one interview that readers are smart and hate being manipulated.

In fact I think she wanted it for 2 reasons - one she didn`t realised and one she didn`t wanted to admit.
1. She didn`t wanted to part with Jeb. Yes she never said that, but then why she had a WHOLE CONVERSATION with Taelor, in which Taelor was telling her to leave Jeb alone to succed in life? I think here is something.
2. The rabbit hole is in London. I`m sure London doesn`t have the only art-school in the world. She could`ve chosen Germany for example. But it was like Wonderland was drawing here there. Yes, again this is not mentioned, BUT I think A.G. put it there if we start looking in the details. Am I making any sense?
And then Splintered happened in which she was only 16 and all she wanted was to save her mom. Congarulations for that, ALyssa!
And then we have 2 year gap and now she`s 18. BIG TIME. LIFE DESSICIONS! AND AGAIN we don`t have CLEAR plans for the future. As far as she can think is when Jeb is going to return and make out with here. And yes, they want to move in London together, but ONLY JEB talks about it. Alyssa doesn`t even think about London!

AND BAM! She intends to save her mom, Morpheus, Jeb and Wonderland. She intends to trick her dad into helping her. She intends to gets free from the asylum (CAN WE TAKE THAT AS A NICE METAPHOR OF HER, BREAKING HER CHAINS!!!) And she intends to kick ass! NOW THAT ARE PLANS FOR THE FUTURE!!!

I noticed how on the Splintered cover, amidst all the greenery, there a blue butterfly. ;) I know its nothing big, but it just stood out to me.And then there is a bug. Which seems consistent with all books, except Unhinged shows only the bug and, perhaps in place of the butterfly, there is a moth on Morph's collar. (Cuz he's unique ;)).
Also- Alyssa is wearing the key neckace!
The first two covers looks mysterious and alluring, but Ensnared looks demanding and fierce. Which-- tbh, is no compliment lmao. Especially to Jeb cuz he looks so un-Wonderland. If that makes sense.
He doesnt deserve to be a netherling, in my honest opinion, especially since he always talks trash about wonderland and everyone in it.
Im not surprised that in the cover he's surrounded by the horrific venus fly trap and has a big ass widow spider on his neck about to bite him into a serious freaking coma.
Also the red- the red symbolizes Red. Which means he must somehow be under her control when he's there.
There is also the Queen of hearts card in his shirt..
I haven't been consistent with commenting since I've been busy w/ work, but I think me and Natalia spoke of this before.

I just looked closely on the Splintered cover. On Alyssa`s cheek has landed a moth. It can be a butterfly, BUT IT`S BLUE AND BLACK! That can be our Mothman secretly sneaking on the cover!!!
Now let`s start comparing the Splintered and Unhinged covers. If you look closely at the flowers, you`ll see that they are THE SAME! THEY ARE JUST TURNED UPSIDE DOWN! Even the bug is the same! In the first cover she`s red and is on Alyssa`s left upper corner. In Unhinged cover it`s green and is in Morpheus`s right bottom corner! And then have a look at Ensnared`s cover: all over Jeb are those fly-catcher plants and they have opened their mouths like they`re about to eat him! There are also a couple of ants climbing MORPHEUS AND ALYSSA! Now, do ants symbolize love or something?
About Ensnared`s yellow sign I still believe that Jeb WILL END UP WITH GOSSAMER, because they pretty much liked each other in Splinterd...like...she offered him her "services". And that leads me to another question:
