Kim | 50 comments Finished my first pick - Cloudstreet by Tim Winton. Struggled to get through as I didn't love the writing style.

Tpagirl Loves Romance | 120 comments Hey again Elke, I read another quick one, to total three so far.

Pam | 1048 comments Nicolina-
I finished One Reckless Summer. I gave it 2 1/2 stars (or I would if we were allowed to give half stars). Story read quickly--bad boy/good girl and the bad boy definitely had some redeeming value. I just don't think the author did a good job of showing us what was valuable about the relationship outside of hot sex. Thanks for the recommendation. Probably the only one I will finish this month between too much work and too many challenges but I put your others on my PIFM shelf.

Tpagirl Loves Romance | 120 comments Thx again Elke. I have been reading a lot this weekend to catch up on this challenge so another one done to now make 4! I plan to do at least one more.

Fran | 12307 comments Hi Crystal!

I finished one of your picks for me, The Pharaoh and the Curator. Thanks for the push to get this short story off my tbr :)
I wish it were longer and the characters more fleshed out, but I still enjoyed it. A fun little story to read in between longer books :)

message 212: by Nancy H (new)

Nancy H | 1118 comments Hi Ashley,
I just finished Petals on the River Petals on the River by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss , and it was REALLY good! I had read some books by Kathleen Woodiwiss a long time ago and had forgotten how good they really are. They are definitely romances in the 'bodice ripper' genre, but this one was so much more than that. Thanks for the rec!

There are also others on your list that I intend to read, but just couldn't get to them all this month!

HeatherMarie (heathermariereads) | 698 comments Kait wrote: "Hi Heather! I didn't find many books on my own shelf that I thought you'd enjoy so I went out searching goodreads. I really hope I picked some gems for you!"

Hey Kait!
Great month, really enjoyed Against the Wind, A Certain Wolfish Charm, The Debutante Is Mine, Double Cross, The Last Viking, The Restorer, and Trickery.
I think my favorite was The Haunting of Maddy Clare- which I was worried about because I'm a weeny & don't go in for horror normally- but was really great! Thanks!

Leigh | 270 comments Alexis,

I have finished my second pick Half-Blood (Covenant, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and enjoyed it. Thanks for the pick.

Sonja (sonjac) | 1380 comments GAAH!
Diane ~Firefly~
I have hit a reading wall! After I finished The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and then The Warlord's Wife (Sons of the North, #1) by Sandra Lake for the Hunger Games challenge I cannot seem to get into ANY of the books on my shelf!
I have Mistress by Amanda Quick and The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley both, but I've tried and tried and I just can't get into them!
I don't think it's the books themselves, I think I'm in a slump! HELP!

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1513 comments @ Sonja - when I'm in a reading slump I either take a couple days break from reading and do other things I enjoy or I re-read one of my favorite books. I hope this helps.

Gonna try that, Diane, thank you! I have a couple other projects that need my attention. Perhaps I'll take the last couple days of September off and start fresh on Sunday! Thanks lady!

MountainKat | 32113 comments Hi Shelby! I was terrible about updating everything in September, but I did manage to read several of you picks! But I cheated and read one in August - I couldn't wait. =)

Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward 8.29.17 - So sweet!
Master of Freedom by Cherise Sinclair 9.5.17 - Not her best, but still good.
Chaos in Death by J.D. Robb 9.9.17 - Love this series!
Ride Rough by Laura Kaye 9.25.17 - Loved this too!

Thanks for the great picks, I have more I want to get to soon too!

message 221: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 1000 comments Leigh I only managed to read Lord of the Vampires (Royal House of Shadows, #1) by Gena Showalter , and it didn't do it for me. But it's another book knocked off the mountain. I do have Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu and Lola and the Boy Next Door (Anna and the French Kiss, #2) by Stephanie Perkins checked out from the library though. Just need to get to them.

I'm sorry [bookcover:Lord of the Vampires|10721934] was not to your liking. Hopefully you like the other two.
