No I purposely put it after the release date because release dates tend to move a lot when books are first announced. Secondly it helps those who prefer library copies being able to participate since no library gets the books opening day.

I understand... I just mean I think they thought the the book came out April 5th and that pre-ordering let them get the book early... but really they just meant they will have the book when it comes out March 13th or whenever it releases...

I started this 2hrs ago and was like "I'm on chapter 29 already?"... then I saw there are 180 chapters...

So much going on... and Vikas Adam has joined the cast of narrators... noticed Julius-voice in that group chat early on and one other time, so far...

I think it just consider every file a chapter... transcripts of conversation, analyst commentary, etc... I'm on chapter 55 now... not long after the male love interests from book 1&2 have a talk... mason and whats-his-name...

Favorite thing so far is that the authors are confronting some of the emotional and relationship struggles glosses over at the end of book 1&2... makes it more believable...

Chapter 90-93... little past 50% I think... HOLY SH!T... you'll know when to click this spoiler: (view spoiler)[I think I grew a bit complacent... Did NOT see the science captain dying...

I read Illuminae and Gemina back in July and September of last year... so the details are less fresh, but there's been some pretty brutal things in this book...

The gunning of that 10yr old was horrible... when Aidan gassed the 2000 passengers it was much more humane-seeming until it got creepy with "Hush little baby, don't say a word, momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird..." being played...

But I really thought some characters from the first 2 books were safe at this point... this just blew THAT theory out of the water...

I paused the book on my car ride home, so I haven't seen how the "kids" are going to retaliate yet... I really hope they wrest back control, even if that leaves them in dire straits for the impending arrival back it Credenza-4... (hide spoiler)]

No wonder Miche thought this was the best of the 3... it's been a rollercoaster so far...

I continued finally, after wasting time online... chapter 96 is ridiculous... I guess to balance out chapters 90-93... I think they kinda went overboard with the audiobook, actually... SFX and music-wise, I mean... I'm kinda facepalming at the moment...

That's why I just tag my stuff at %. Audio at least lets you know how far you are through.

I normally do percentages with the audiobooks and the ebooks.

With physical books I normally go with page number just because the number is in front of me, lol.

From all the options I still find % the best one as it will be the same no matter the format.

Katy/Ezra: that's because the last chapters of each book have taken place after Obsidio, and not the book we were reading at the time... so it was a reveal for them, but not us...

I didn't remember how long it was before I started... I can easily find out how long is left, but I can't add up 180 chapter lengths the way I can 10-30...

Easiest thing to do with my "chapters is just divide by 2" and call it a slightly inaccurate percent...

Accurately, Chapter 45 = 25%... 90 = 50%... 135 = 75%...
