It's ok. I'm listening to Watch for the Dead (Relatively Dead, #4) by Sheila Connolly right now, and I have the last one in that series plus three in Museum plus about six in Orchard plus the entire County Cork series to keep me busy until the one you unfairly already have comes out.....

LOLOL!!

New Pairs: LA and DI

message 102: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1868 comments I read the first in the Relatively Dead series and wasn't overly impressed with it, but I have several in the Museum and Orchard series to read, and at least one or two County Cork books as well, so I'm not worrying too much about running out of her books to read :)

message 103: by Agnieszka (new)

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 616 comments Finally I read my two books and even manage to update it now ;-)

For RE Dying to Read by Lorena McCourtney 3* 4/2 &
for ER Erbarmen=The Keeper of Lost Causes by Jussi Adler-Olsen 3* 5/6

I'm taking both pairs since I have for both at least one book I wanted read for a really long time and just needed additional reason to do it soon.

For DI I'll read most likely A Diamond in the Rough - plus it will fit perfectly for my white covers challange next month :-) and
for LA I'll read Last Night in Montreal (another white cover) or The Last Witness

The next pairs: BE & SP

New pairs:

Connie N. | 3773 comments I'll take PR, which will give me yet another reason to move this book to the front of my list:

One Less Problem Without You by Beth Harbison

New pairs: CA and HO

message 109: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) I finished Holiday Spice (The Shaughnessy Brothers, #6) by Samantha Chase Holiday Spice 4 stars, which is something because I read very little romance.

I'll take CA as one of my summer reads for Wacky is Campaign Widows by Aimee Agresti Campaign Widows.

Barb | 1868 comments I finally finished my book for TH :

Murder at the Mansion (Victorian Village #1), by Sheila Connolly, finished 5/31 ★★★★
Murder at the Mansion (Victorian Village Mysteries, #1) by Sheila Connolly
This is the first book in a new series by Sheila Connolly, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I've enjoyed all of the series she writes except one, but imo, this book is the best first-in-series book she's written. In fact, it may be one of the best first-in-series books I've read, perhaps because she *has written so many series?

Jennifer, you need to get a copy of this as soon as possible!

I can take MI with The Prime Minister's Secret Agent, by Susan Elia MacNeal.

New pairs: HO and TR

Hope you don't mind some history mixed in with your cozy mysteries :) I was fascinated by a subject mentioned in the book that I hadn't heard about, so I've made a note to do some research into it in an attempt to learn more about it.

message 123: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1868 comments I finished my MI book; I really like this series and am glad she's still writing them, so I won't run out of books to read any time soon. That said, WW2 has to end eventually, doesn't it?

The Prime Minister's Secret Agent, (Maggie Hope #4), by Susan Elia MacNeal, finished 6/4 ★★★.5

I have a BE book on my list to read in July, but I don't want to commit to that just yet, so I'll keep an eye on the thread and see if anyone else can jump in.

message 131: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) I’d like to see the manager to report a reading plan defect.... reading plan defect on aisle 5...

message 132: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1868 comments LOL I'll see if I can sneak something else into "the plan" that will work, but don't hold your breath :)

Barb | 1868 comments Hmmmm.... *off to check Mt. TBR to see what might work*

message 136: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 3773 comments Maybe you should have checked with Barb first to see which pair to suggest?

message 137: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) LOL Connie!

message 138: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1868 comments Connie N. wrote: "Maybe you should have checked with Barb first to see which pair to suggest?"

*shrugs* These are such common letter combinations, I'm finding it almost comical at how few books I have on my reading list that fit.

message 139: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Well i can fix that. Barb's letter combo: ZK.

message 140: by Barb (last edited Jul 16, 2018 12:45PM) (new)

Barb | 1868 comments ROFL Well, that will end the game for sure :)
Or ... or ... or maybe you just don't want me to play anymore? I can take a hint! *sniffs* :D

message 141: by Connie N. (last edited Jul 16, 2018 12:57PM) (new)

Connie N. | 3773 comments Uh oh, Jennifer, I hope you're not playing Scrabble in the Crazy Challenge Connection. Barb will definitely "accidentally" roll an impossible set of letters for you to complete!

message 142: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Barb can take any hint that doesn’t start with “HE” or “PL”.. and thanks for warning me off, Connie!! Lololol

message 143: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1868 comments Hey, I found a PL combo -- as long as there's no minimum page length for this challenge :) I was going through my Kindle content at Amazon to re-send a book I'd removed from my Kindle, and I found Plain as Day on the list, but apparently it was never sent to the new Kindle.

So as long as a 103-page book works, I can take the PL. If that's ok, the next combos will be HE and TH.

message 144: by Jennifer (last edited Jul 18, 2018 08:01AM) (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) works for me! I don’t like page limits on challenges anyway— they discourage finishing series because they eliminate so many of the “point-fives” from consideration. Plus I read about a dozen books a year that are more than 800 pages and I don’t get extra credit for those, so I just figure it all evens out! :-)

message 145: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1868 comments Yay, thanks! I think the hardest part of this challenge is coming up with letter combinations that will be relatively easy for someone else to match :)
