I can do #32 International Cat Day (October 29) or #18: Labor Day (September 4th). The book I'm currently reading works for those...just let me know which one I should do. :)

“…the cemetery maintenance man raking leaves a distance away” (pg. 77).
"He stood to use the shovel" (pg. 297).
“Younger than springtime, older than dirt” (pg. 43).

“…with fluorescent green tennis balls” (pg. 253).

“Torchlights running to and fro on board, on the beach, winding their way up the hill…” (Prologue).

The Bachelor's Twins

Oh my goodness, you are right. I hadn't made it that far. Thank you

"It’s pretty
quiet along this stretch of beach. Do you think all the eggs will hatch and the
turtles will make it to the water?”
Melanie, will that line work for #3 A Day at the Beach?
Andrea wrote: "Ah, wait! I think I found one for #3.
is a review book I really need to get to, and it says this:
"It’s..."
Yes that works.

#2: Independence Day (July 4th) - JAMIE ( Fatal Frost )
I'm happy to have helped work this out as I was having trouble sleeping last night. I hope you all enjoy these books! 😃

Is it possible on future rounds to let me check my books before assuming which task I'll do? My GR "Currently Reading" is so backlogged with books I've had to set aside that it isn't a good barometer of what I've got going on right now. Thank you!

Absolutely Andrea! 😃

One of my favorite things about these team challenges is browsing through my books when the categories come out to see which one close to the top of my TBR list will work for each of the categories. I am often able to read something for more than one category, which provides flexibility for the team. I'm so excited about this round's book! Kim Sawyer is one of my favorite authors, and she wrote one of the stories in this collection.
Andrea wrote: "Wow! Super fast. So happy!"
Thanks! I had some reading time last night and today and it went by pretty quickly. :)
Thanks! I had some reading time last night and today and it went by pretty quickly. :)

I have one book to finish up before I can start mine this time, but I should be finishing that other one by tomorrow, I think.

Kimberly - Your review of Bringing Maggie Home covers our #18 task, so I posted this on our review page. Thank you Kimberly! 😃
Thank you for working on our #3 task Andrea! 😃
I wrote to Jamie about the #2 task on Tuesday and yesterday, and I haven't heard back from her yet. I hope she can cover this task...
I'll be starting on my #38: Lawn Maintenance task book tomorrow and will finish it by the 9th-10th weekend. 🤓

Does anyone have big plans for Labor Day weekend? My family is planning on barbecuing on Monday. I'm trying a new-to-me burger recipe, so I'm hopeful for that. I've been meaning to find a good homemade burger recipe, and I might have just found a winner. Taste will tell the story, though, so we'll see.

Jamie wrote me back and she is for sure reading Fatal Frost for our Round Two #2 task. If you read this, thank you Jamie! :)

I'm still a kid at heart and will likely be watching Leap. Thanks for the mention Andrea! :)
I'm working on reading my book as we speak too. ;)

I just finished the second novella in

I read this book very recently and enjoyed it. I hope you are too. :)
Yes, I can do that if she doesn't get it done in time. I'm loving the book, but have had little reading time this week. Can't wait to read more!

So, just in case I can't get online Wednesday to see our Round Three tasks... Here is the book I'll be reading over the next two weeks:

Some of the tasks this book can cover are:
#1: “The summer was only a third over and she was already eager for school to start again” (pg. 176).
#4: “…to the pool with Cynthia and her mother” (pg. 147).
#5: “…she and her husband and son had gone camping in Canada” (pg. 49)
#6: “…the June sun was hot and she needed her sunglasses” (pg. 7).
#11: “…and pulled out a pint of mint-chocolate-chip ice cream” (pg. 149.
#12: Lucinda filled the glasses with iced tea” (pg. 24).
#13: “Evelyn sliced off the hard green skin of the watermelon” (pg. 148).
#20: “…cookies for the Fourth of July bake sale” (pg. 82).
#21: “Mae held her mug of cinnamon-apple tea under her nose, drinking in the spices” (pg. 260).
#22: “If Frank hadn’t died in Vietnam” (pg. 152). Frank was a soldier who lost his life in the Vietnam war.
#23: “…making a moat of three pillows around herself” (pg. 308).
#25: “Mae took a peppermint from the candy jar” (pg. 147).
I’ll add to this later if I can…

I've got under a hundred pages left in mine and am making time to get it finished tonight.
You guys, I'm gonna try my best to get the second book done in time, but it might not happen. This week has been incredibly busy. O.o

"They walked a good stretch of the beach in silence, her attention on the waves coming into the shore” (pg. 491-2).
Also, no worries Melanie. It turns out Jamie finished her task #2 reading on Friday, so I posted to our team review page for her. :)
