Adam McPhee (adam_mcphee) | 22 comments Pretty sure the story was originally French. A boy wants to become an astronaut/cosmonaut and go to the moon in a rocket, which the story implies is now a somewhat common occurrence, but a baker talks him out of it. He might be the baker's apprentice?

Any idea when it was published? When did you read it? Was it in an anthology, or online, or somewhere else?

What age level is the story aimed at?

Adam McPhee (adam_mcphee) | 22 comments I remember reading it in elementary/junior high, so late 90s early millenium, I think it was in a school anthology. It had a Jules Verne/HG Wells vibe to it, though I suspect the author was influenced by that early sci-fi rather than actually being a member of that generation.
