I'll allow the first one since it IS actually grey but if I hadn't put 'grey' in my wording I would have said no... The second is definitely too light.

Rachel C. (rachelus) | 611 comments OK, I sort of suspected both of being too light... would you prefer I choose something else even for the first one? (I have many choices, these are just the books I'm reading right now)

The second two are fine. I think the first one has just a bit too much 'bright' in it.

message 186: by Maddie (last edited Oct 28, 2017 02:38PM) (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 680 comments Might have to count And I Darken (The Conqueror's Saga, #1) by Kiersten White because, according to TinEye, there's 68.6% black and 4% grey, which adds to 73%, which means less than 30% is a light colour :p So I assume I can read this one?

I also assume The Sandcastle Empire by Kayla Olson or Shattered Mirror (Den of Shadows, #3) by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes don't count?

Hi Maddison - I don't work off TinEye. I just look to see if there is too much light or colour. Some grey is still light grey.

According to my 'run of the mill' eyes and what I am looking for, I would say yes to the two you dicsounted and no to the one you think works.

But I'm also not going to get overly picky so if there is 68% black in the first cover, that's fine.
