From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new standalone that proves true love will always stand the test of time.

“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.

Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.

But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.

What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?

***

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.

That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.

Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.

I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

Oh, Officer Malone…

So. Hot.

For once it's not the hero who has commitment issues and doesn’t want a relationship. I loved that. Not that these are desirable or positive characteristics, I’m just glad the heroine isn’t another celibate, reclusive, pitiful woman crying over her destiny.

Still, it didn’t feel like 5 stars. More like somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. And I know why. I think I’ve reached my limit of loved-you-since-childhood books. I’ve read hundreds of them.

One character lives in an abusive home. The other one has a big, lovely family. They are neighbors and best friends. Then something happens and they don't see each other for years. Then they run into each other and there's a friend who intervenes, yada, yada, yada.

It just doesn’t hold any appeal to me anymore, to be honest.

Luckily, I still quite enjoyed the story. Because Officer Malone. And great writing.

➦I very much enjoyed this release from K. Bromberg, but then again I always enjoy her work. I don't think she can write a bad book. So go read it.

➦Just kidding! I must, of course, tell you a detailed summary of it. And may be some spoilers. Or a lot of spoilers. SO here goes.

➦For those of you who enjoy "childhood friends" and "loved you since childhood" kind of romance reads - this one is for you! Also, the flashback elements that I adore so much in Bromberg's books are very much present and do wonders for the character development here.

➦Oh and let me say a couple of words about the characters. Well, mostly, the hero. Do I need to dig up my list of hot cop gifs?

➦Yes, I have a list. Here's just one for ya today. There's a lot more where that came from but I don't wanna bore anyone. Or, you know, distract from the awesomeness that is this review.

➦Did this book make me tear up? Yes, yes it did. And the statement that every Bromberg book makes me tear up still stands true. This novel gave me feels, people! I can't wait to read about the other hot men in this new Everyday Heroes Series. Firefighters, helicopter pilots... anywhatever heroes - bring it on! #iwillbewaiting

His kiss is thunder and lightning, a tornado and a tsunami, all in one fiery package that makes me forget about the here and the now, makes me want more when more with Grant scares the shit out of me.

Don't let that ridiculously sexy cover fool you. While this book certainly brings that steamy punch that we're used to from K. Bromberg, it's also incredibly full of depth. The story hooked me and kept me riveted to the pages.

Grant and Emmy were childhood best friends and neighbors. They were everything to each other, until Grant broke Emmy's trust and everything changed. The last words he heard her utter is that she hates him and never wants to see him again.

Years later, a chance encounter brings them together once more, but Emmy is not the shy ten year old girl that Grant remembers from his childhood. She's sassy, wild, and still wants nothing to do with him.
I only live in the now. I only live in tomorrows. I can only cope with the future I make for myself.

Grant is a character I easily fell for. Now a cop, Grant has a protective hero streak a mile long. It's not only reflected in his memories of Emmy, but those memories ultimately framed him into the man that he is now. A dedicated officer and an honorable man. While Emmy refuses to give him the time of day, Grant is determined to wear her down. He never stopped caring for the young girl he knew, and the beautiful woman she grew into dominates his thoughts.
You’re exhausting.” I sigh. “And you’re infuriating, but we already knew that twenty years ago . . . so what’s your excuse going to be now, huh?”

I loved the sexually charged back and forth that Emmy and Grant had going. I loved watching him slowly wear her down and lower her defenses enough to take a chance on him. And the more details you learn about Emmy and her past, the more you fall for her too.
He brings calm to the chaos spinning out of control around me and within me. For the first time in a very, very long time, I allow myself to accept that.

Cuffed was this perfectly balanced mix of emotion and romance. It had depth that you couldn't help but feel from the very beginning. It was perfectly paced, wonderfully swoony, and ridiculously sexy. I couldn't get enough of these two together.
It seems I have forgotten my handcuffs.” He chuckles and lands a smart slap on my ass.
“Oh, am I under arrest?”
“Definitely.” The palm of his hand slides down the line of my spine.
“What’s the charge?”
“Making me want you. Every minute of every goddamn day.”

I'm hooked, line and sinker on this series. And can we just take a hot minute to discuss the rest of the Malone brothers? Because hot damn! A firefighter and a rescue pilot? Yes, please! I'm already salivating for my next hit!

Hmm. Grant and Emerson. Where do I begin?
Are you going to get a story with a hot cop? ✔︎
Are you going to get a story with some sexy times? ✔︎
Are you going to get an unexpected emotional journey that even I, the author, didn't expect when I started to write it? ✔︎

Grant and Emerson made a pinky promise at age 8.
He broke it and she left.
He's sat on that broken promise for 20 years. Wondering. Curious.
And then one day while on-duty, he comes face to face with her.
What ensues is a story about forgiveness, dealing with your past, trying to heal by letting others in, and learning that sometimes . . . it's okay to be fought for.

Their attraction is undeniable, but their push and pull is sweet, sexy and you'll find yourself rooting for him to win and for her to stand her ground.

I truly hope you enjoy this book about my sexy, heroic police officer and my feisty skydiving instructor.

Head Up. Wings Out.

OMG. I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!! Total honesty here, I had this book pegged wrong. Now, that's probably my fault because I actually didn't read the blurb before I started the book. I'd read enough K. Bromberg books over the years to know I enjoyed her writing style so when this book came along I just dove right in having only seen the title and cover. Honestly, I kind of expected it to be more of a light hearted storyline (not even sure why) but HOLY FEELS!! Yes, it was hot and sexy and had some great banter but the emotional depth took me by surprise in the best of ways and I absolutely LOVED IT!!! You guys know how much I adore emotional love stories so this has definitely become a new TOP FAVORITE!!

So even though I never read the blurb first, I'm going to share it here to give you an idea of what the story is actually about. Pro tip: reading blurbs actually helps. Who knew?! lol. Kidding. I usually always read them.

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.

That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.

Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.

I’ll give her the one night she asks for - like that’s a hardship - but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

Okay. If you love protective heroes -- like the kind of man who will risk his life to save others and go far out of his way to ensure the safety of anyone he loves or who needs his help -- then you are going to fall head over heals in love with Grant Malone. Like seriously. This guy is like the very definition of an ALPHA PROTECTIVE HERO. Pure swoon material. He's a hero's hero and also of course a sexy police officer and he will straight up steal your heart.

The only girl I’ve ever really loved is the only one it seems I’ll ever really want.
I’m more determined than ever to prove it to her.
Her rules don’t matter.
Her past doesn’t matter.
It’s her her.
It’s just the now.
And it’s about damn time.

The heroine is strong and feisty. Her past was incredibly traumatic and the scars left over are ones she's tried to put behind her for years. But seeing Grant again brings everything she's tried so hard to bury back to the surface and forces her to face truth she's spent her whole adult life running away from.

“There’s this look she gets in her eyes. It’s like she’s perfectly fine. She’s funny and outgoing and God is she feisty… but every so often, there’s this sadness, this uncertainty that flashes in her eyes, and it fucks me up. I don’t know how to make it go away.”
“You always did want to save people.”

But he's kind, patient, persistent, and determined not to give up on the only girl who's ever owned his heart. He understands her pain and wants to help her through it. And he's willing to wait as long as she needs.

“I saved—“ I saved you once, and I’ll save you again in a goddamn heartbeat without thinking twice.

I've said this about a million times so far but for reals, second chance romances are just my favorite types of love stories. I love all the emotions that come with them. I love the depth. The heart-break. The intensity. The healing. The love that lasts throughout the separation. Something about them -- no matter how many I read -- just gets to me every single time.

She’s always been there in my mind. Sure, it’s been a long ass time since third grade, but in some sort of way, I knew I’d see her again. She isn’t someone I could easily forget.

But this book isn't all serious, there are some genuinely fun moment too...

“To what do I owe this pleasure? I know I’m a law-abiding citizen, so I’m not in any trouble, unless you like to use those handcuffs for other purposes.” She wiggles her eyebrows.
The woman is hilarious. “A real man never kisses and tells,” I say with a wink.
“But he does spank and flog,” she comes right back without batting an eyelash, making me choke on air.
“Jesus.”

Oh and also, this is the first standalone in a new series of standalones -- each one features one of the brothers of this hero and I can't wait to read the next ones. You get to meet Grant's whole family in this book and I promise you'll fall in love with all of them! This book does have an epilogue though so you can read it fully alone.

This book really took me by surprise in the best of ways. If you're looking for a well written romance with a strong heroine, a swoony hero, an emotionally charged and sexy love story that's full of feels, this is definitely the book you should read next!

Rating: 4.5 stars! Contemporary Adult Romance, can standalone

Grant and Emmy were best friends as kids and had a falling out. They reconnect as adults and the sparks fly. I liked the plot because it navigated a very sensitive subject with tact. I liked the characters and how they were fleshed out, despite being frustrated by Emmy on many a occasion. While she doesn’t win awards for being my favorite heroine, her actions stayed true to her setup. Grant was awesome. He was patient, kind, and loving. He brought about pretty much all of the heartwarming moments in the story.

Grant and Emmy together worked well. Their chemistry was there and it showed in the passion. The supporting characters added value to the story and kept me interested in continuing to read about this world. All in all a solid read.

5+ 'Chasing moments together' Stars!
ARC provided by the author via Ink Slinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

Oh. My. Goodness. If you thought K. Bromberg could not get any better, I am extremely happy to tell you that you are very wrong! This woman can definitely write one hell of a love story. I mean.. I am not surprised because I love every single word she writes but this novel was just outstanding in every single aspect. Cuffed overflows with emotions. Cuffed is beautifully written. Cuffed is heart-breaking and heart-warming. Cuffed is, of course, sexy as hell. Cuffed is one of the best works K. Bromberg has written. Cuffed is simply magical.

This novel is the first installment in Kristy’s new series called Everyday Heroes and it’s focused on three Malone siblings: three hot men with heroic jobs. Cuffed is the love story between Grant Malone a.k.a Officer Sexy and Emerson “Emmy” Reeves. This couple were best friends through their childhood but circumstances separate them and Emmy leaves hating Grant. Twenty years pass and now Emmy is back. She is a changed woman but Grant makes all her past ghosts (including himself) come back. However, leaving that aside for a moment, what makes this story so good is the emotional connection these two have (and their crazy chemistry!).

I’ve spent the last twenty years shutting myself off from all emotion—all feelings when it comes to anyone of the opposite sex—and in a span of one week’s time, I’ve let Grant change that.
My black-and-white world has color seeping into its edges.

I am wrecked. I am absolutely wrecked. Holy crap. This story made me a fucking mess. It was EVERYTHING. Cuffed, besides being an incredible love story, is the story of a woman fighting to start leaving again and the man that will do anything in his power to give it to her. Grant brings back so many of Emmy’s memories, the bad ones but also the good ones. This couple had the most beautiful and adorable friendship and now, they have one of the most epic love stories I’ve ever read. I cried so much for Emmy. I cried so much for the whole situation. I cried for everything that Grant does to make her trust him again. Cuffed is just an emotional journey for both these characters.

She’s sunshine with a little bit of hurricane thrown in, and I’m willingly walking straight into her storm with nothing more than the clothes on my back.

And without leaving this theme of emotions, Emmy and Grant also gave me so much happiness. Yes, they were adorable as kids. But they are SO FREAKING HOT as adults. The sexual tension is palpable through every page and the sex is absolutely mind-blowing! The chemistry between these two is so worth it because it’s not only about the sex (which I am definitely not complaining about!) but it all comes back to the same thing: feelings. The feelings Emmy has, the feelings Grant has, the feelings every single character in this book has. The feelings they all provoked in me. I was an emotional mess while reading this whole thing (can’t you tell?!) and I LOVED IT!

“It seems I have forgotten my handcuffs.”
“Oh, am I under arrest?”
“Definitely.”
“What’s the charge?”
“Making me want you. Every minute of every goddamn day.”

I also love a great list of characters and Cuffed surely has it. There is so much love in the pages of this book: not only between Grant and Emmy but also from the Malone family and from Emmy’s friends. Characters are such an important part to every reader and I can assure you K. Bromberg did an amazing job with the whole book. And now, let’s also talk about that ending because it was extraordinary. I cried my eyeballs out (of course!). I loved how emotional, sexy and romantic it was. Grant and Emmy are such brilliant characters and they definitely deserved their happily ever after.

It’s just him. And me.
No past.
No future.
Just the moment.

Therefore, I am rating Cuffed with my special 5+ STARS rating because I do believe this is one of the best works that K. Bromberg has ever written. Her writing style flows beautifully, the story is compelling and its characters are just outstanding. I loved this couple and the crazy chemistry they have. I loved all the emotions this novel provoked in me. Grant and Emmy have just become one of my favorite book couples ever. So yeah, as you can imagine, I am highly recommending to read this one! It’s so worth it.

I loved K. Bromberg's "Driven" series and this book sounded all kinds of interesting, so of course I had to give it a go ;)

Grant and Emmy used to be best friends, when they were kids. But when 8 year old Emmy tells Grant a secret, a secret she makes him pinky promise to keep, everything changes...

FOTO BEWERKEN - makkelijk online je foto's bewerken of aanpassen

Now, 20 years later, these two run into each other again. Grant is very happy to finally see his Emmy again, but unfortunately, Emmy does not feel the same way.

Being the protective alpha male that he is, Grant is not about to give up though. He feels drawn to Emmy and wants to reconnect. He also needs to needs to know how Emmy is doing and if she is happy....he can't just let her walk out of his life again....

tumblr_inline_myhce6fGKZ1qbun9f.gif (500×281)

Grant has quite the fight on his hands though, because Emmy is not just giving in. She might be extremely attracted to Grant, but she has her rules for a reason.

When she can't resist him any longer, they strike a deal. They can be friends again...friends who have sex, but...no relationship !!

jaydenkiss GIF

Of course Grant has no intention to keep his end of the deal :P

It was wonderful seeing Grant slowly knock down all her walls, but it was also emotional. Being with Grant is causing all sorts of flashbacks for Emmy, and bit by bit we get to know more about her past....

I really enjoyed this first book in the series. It was sweet, sexy and at times emotional. I can honestly say, that I am hooked and I'm very curious, which of Grant's brothers is next in line....will it be the firefighter, or the rescue-pilot....oh my ;)

Emerson Reeves is a 28 yr. old woman who lives her life trying to escape her past. She’s made her own future & has worked hard to conquer her demons & be a strong, confident woman. Then she runs into Grant Malone. It’s been over twenty years since she last saw her childhood best friend. In grade school his loving family became her sense of security, but then something happens, & she moves away. Emerson now lives life in the present, & seeing Grant again brings back all the bad memories from her past. He’s a reminder of all the things she wishes she could forget, from another time in her life. The only problem is the little boy she remembered is now all man. He’s a sexy police officer who is persistent & wants to reconnect with her.

 photo IMG_2201_zpstbwpwyo7.jpg

Grant can’t believe his Emmy, the girl he always loved is back in Sunnyville. He hasn’t seen her since the 3rd grade, & now can’t stop thinking about her. He’s missed her over the years, & wants the chance to get to know her again. The shy girl he remembered is all grown up & full of life, but he soon learns she keeps everyone at arm’s length. Trusting is hard for her, & she’s shut herself off from emotion.

Grant pursues Emmy & fights for her. He’s quickly making her feel everything, and she feels like she’s spinning out of control. He’s upended her carefully constructed world. She decided he was off limits because he knew too much about her past, but one night of passion changes everything. Soon Emmy feels like she wants to run, but Grant wants her to give them a real chance.

This was a book full of emotion & some serious subject matter. Two best friends who reconnect as adults & fall in love. It’s complicated, full of angst, and extremely hot! I loved Grant Malone, & can’t wait to get the other Malone brothers books! A cop, a firefighter, & a rescue pilot. Yum! ;))

5 "Wings Out" Stars

“She’s sunshine with a little bit of hurricane thrown in, and I’m willingly walking straight into her storm with nothing more than the clothes on my back.”

K. Bromberg soars! Cuffed is everything I ever wanted in an emotional romance novel. It’s the perfect combination of steam and gut-wrenching emotional feels. Cuffed destroyed me in the best possible way. K. Bromberg continues to impress and takes emotional but sexy romance to the next level in the story of love, trust, and perseverance!

I’ll skip the summary here and just tell you what I loved. It’s pretty easy actually… I loved everything. Man oh man, this book is perfection! The characters are amazing. Grant stole my heart and Emmy is permanently imprinted there. She’s unforgettable. The structure was great. Although I’m not typically wowed by flashbacks, it works best in this story. Some of the themes explored in the novel are tough subjects, but that’s why I loved it so much. I pretty much had to read through my tears for much of the book, but I didn’t mind one bit. I loved it! Highly recommended!

DNF @ 43%

Apparently 'strong' woman, key word apparently.
He was shallow - a man, who wants to have an upper hand, to peel off her control etc etc -> I ate a couple of such d-bags for breakfast in the past, so I'd rather dnf before I end up with another 1 star rating...

Every single side character told me about his colorful sexual past, I understand English well and 1 time were enough!

Her BFF Desi - awful 😨😖

The three Malone brothers Grant, Grayson and Grady are the heroes of this new series by K. Bromberg.
The oldest one - Grant - is a cop - just like his dad.

Until one day in 3rd grade, Grant used to be the bestest of friends with Emerson.
But since that day twenty years have gone by.
She left school that day and never came back. And she hates him for breaking his pinky promise back then.
But she doesn't really hate him. She's already halfway in love with the man the boy has become. But he also reminds her of that horrible time 20 years ago.
But he's not giving up that easily! He will fight for her - even if he might have to Cuff her ;)
Let the games begin!!!

What will happen with Emmy & Grant?
Will there be a happily ever after?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

ADORABLE!

Can it be called a second-chance love story when both were only eight years old the last time they saw each other? I think it can. They used to be best friends. Grant's mom was already dreaming of their wedding back then! ☺
And now Em is back in town. But she fights against that attraction every time they see each other. Adorable but totally useless of course!☺
Grant is totally charmed by his old friend. He wants something serious with her, but he has to work for it! It won't be easy - but the reader has an amazing time watching them fight for their happy end!

Their relationship is not the only thing on our darlings mind though. We have problems with one of Grant's cases and money problems with Em's job. Lots on our darlings minds.

Great romance with lots of funny and adorable moments and sexy moments, but also lots of very moving moments and exciting moments.

Can't wait to read the other two stories!
We have one young firefighter and one single dad rescue pilot!!! HURRY KRISTY!

CUFFED was an amazingly adorable & moving love story! But just so you know ... Grant is MINE - so go run to your nearest amazon to get your own!!!

Were there a few tiny little things that I didn't love? Nothing major - so don't worry - they're probably only due to my special brand of reader-weirdness!!
First - the cover. It's pretty hot - even though the guy looks a bit like a photoshopped stripper☺ - BUT - the cover doesn't fit the serious parts of the story. And the story has a lot of very serious parts. I think the cover downplays that a bit. Or maybe it's meant to un-serious the serious parts on purpose. But I would've chosen another cover. No idea what would've been better, but a cover expert could've found something. ☺
The next thing. The book was a tiny little bit too long. I love long books and interesting and huge stories. But this was a bit too long - a little bit here and there cut out wouldn't have hurt this great story.
Oh and one last thing - again, only my reading-weirdness. I hate it when I don't know where I am. I know we're in Sunnyville. But that's just a made up name. I don't even know the state! I went with California in my head, because the ocean was mentioned. I need real places in my books. I need to be able to picture the story in a real place. It can still be a fictional town if it has to, but then I need to know the country/state!
Oy, I just thought of another thing. The bad-cop-guy Stetson. What was that with him? He and the whole story about his dad and how bad they both are, was mentioned so often and I was constantly afraid something would happen with him, but pfff, nothing at all? Why mention him and his father at all? Weird. That's maybe some of the things that could've been cut to make the book a tiny little bit shorter ;)

THE END!
All that ↑ doesn't make the book bad in any way. I loved the story! It's - or rather the Malone boys are - very swoon-worthy and you might also cry a few tears!!!

5 ‘Head up. Wings Out’ Stars

K. BROMBERG HAS WRECKED ME! COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY WRECKED ME!

Cuffed was so far and beyond I hardly have words to describe this literally achievement! From sobbing like a baby to full on belly laughing and passing by some seriously panty melting moments and insane chemistry, this incredibly heartfelt, thoughtful and sexy story couldn’t have been more perfectly written! it’s no wonder Cuffed is one of my Top Ten Top Reads of 2017, and my new K. Bromberg favorite! For me it was PERFECTION!

She’s my bestest friend in the whole wide galaxy.

He’s just like the little boy I used to know and nothing like him at the same time.

AND it all started with a chance meeting, or should I say reunion, of Grant and Emmerson, after twenty years of no contact and a heartbreaking separation, for more reasons than one. Let’s just say they were both shocked beyond belief, and just one look, and all those feeling of destiny, best friends for life, and all the memories came rushing through. Just not in the same way for both of them…

Malone Family Rules: If someone’s hurting, you help them.

From the very beginning I started falling for this family, there is no other word for it! All the Malones conquered my heart, and the more their family values were revealed, and the reflections of them, the more I was helplessly in love. And Grant… O… M… G… Even when he was eight and had to make the hardest decision of his life, right there, he took a huge piece of my heart and just kept getting more and more pieces, as the story kept unfolding.

My black-and-white world has color seeping into its edges.
I love and hate it all at the same time.
It makes me feel alive inside when, until now, I hadn’t realized I had been dead.

Good God, and Emmerson… How she and her story made my heart hurt, and bleed, and break… I’ll keep this review spoiler free, so that you can experience the full impact of the story as reading, but let me just tell you, with all that she has gone through, it’s no wonder her resistance to all Grant makes her feel and all her trust issues. Fortunately, Fate and their insane physical and emotional reactions to one another can’t be denied…

His kiss is thunder and lightning, a tornado and a tsunami, all in one fiery package that makes me forget about the here and the now, makes me want more when more with Grant scares the shit out of me.

Well, as we, and Emmy soon find out, all the handsome package that is Officer Sexy, is impossible to resist. Not even her well set out rules stood a chance against this determined, swoon worthy law man, and what he wanted.

I shouldn’t do this. I don’t get to throw my rules out the window for one man. One hotter than hell and more than skilled man named Grant Malone, but a man nonetheless.

Her rules that she needs to feel like she’s in control but that I know I’ll ply away one by one until it’s her and me with nothing between us.

This limitless determination, and irresistible enchantment he has for Emmy, naturally make him one of the Best Book Boyfriends I’ve ever read. He was just so far gone for her, seeing through her tough and nonchalant attitude, and craving and wanting every part of her, that it’s no wonder I was swooning from the get go.

The woman is a force to be reckoned with and hell if I’m not sitting in the middle of her windstorm and waiting to be hit with everything she has.

She’s sunshine with a little bit of hurricane thrown in, and I’m willingly walking straight into her storm with nothing more than the clothes on my back.
She turns to face me, her brow furrowing as I just stare at her as the realization hits me again that I want to be a part of her beautiful destruction. All of it. Without a damn forecast to prepare me for what’s coming next.

What a emotional rollercoaster this book was! Honest to God, I don’t remember the last time I sobbed so much, in more than one occasion – specially in Emmy’s and more surprisingly, most of Phony Maloney’s child’s POVs – they really wrecked me, and Ms. Bromberg couldn’t have given them a more realistic and heartbreaking form. You’ll fall in love with their eight year old version as much as the twenty eight year old one.

Grant Malone seems to be the only one I’ll allow to upend my world.
First to save me.
And now to show me what it’s like to feel.

Yes, he did save her, but it’s all so much more complicated than that. Hero complex does fit him to a T, and he’s the first to acknowledge that. It’s in his blood, and Grant owns to it even more than his brothers. The thing is, when it comes to where Emmy is concerned, wanting to ‘save’ her is just the tip of the iceberg. He wants everything from her, and will do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING for her. And the way he executed all this, two words : SWOON WORTHY!

The part of me that needs to prove to her that her rules are going to be broken.
One.
By.
One.
Until she sees that sometimes sharing a past means you can build a future together.

I kissed all of her pain away, now I want her to know I desire her, too. All of her. The scars. The beauty. The pain. The past. The future.

We do have so much diversity of moments, situations and dynamics in Cuffed, that it will no doubt keep you hooked from the very first word till the last, and you’ll find yourself trying to read it all in one sitting and ignoring the rest of world, lol.

Their banter, their game of seduction was as sizzling hot as intricately clever and funny, giving us the perfect balance between those emotionally and gut-wrenching charged scenes, and light and super steamy ones. From their first interaction we could feel these two belonged together.

“Christ, Em.”
“Are you gonna frisk me, Officer Malone?”
(…)
“Frisking someone has never been so tempting.”

“Oh, am I under arrest?”
“Definitely.”
The palm of his hand slides down the line of my spine.
“What’s the charge?”
“Making me want you. Every minute of every goddamn day.”

How could Emmy resist the force of nature that was Officer Malone?! That’s easy, she couldn’t, and not even being a force of nature herself, because a love and connection like theirs couldn’t be broken, not even by twenty years, not even by anyone. Emmerson may have been Grant’s biggest obstacle, but there was no way she was letting her go a second time. Epic love story material, people!

“I’ve survived this far by closing myself off and not allowing myself to feel . . . and then you enter my life with your lights and sirens blazing, and it’s as if you’ve handcuffed me so that I can’t escape from you. So that I’m forced to feel. So that I think in wants and needs. So that I wonder how I ever lived without it.

Let me take a moment here to bring to light all the awesomeness that are all the secondary characters, starting with the other two smoking hot, Malone brothers – yes, Grady and Grayson, I’m already ogling you guys! – the Malone parents, that were the foundation of all this family is about, and made my heart warm more than once, Nate and Leo, and last but not least, the kickass, dirty innuendo sister, and overall sassy filled, Devi! I loved her interactions with both Emmy as well as with Officer Sexy! TOP BFF, no doubt!

“You know what they say about curiosity . . .”
“It killed the cat, yeah, yeah. But honey, by the grin on your face, I know your kitty meowed. A lot.”

OK, I really ended up saying far more than I intended to, but with this level of romantic novel brilliancy, how could I not?! K. Bromberg completely stole my heart with Cuffed, and with this perfect beginning, and all the teasing we got with those HOT brothers, I’ll be here counting down the days until we get Grady’s story on Combust and Grayson’s on Cockpit! I need more Malone hotness!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

You can’t go gypsy when you have roots. And I want you to have roots, Em. Here. With me. Ones that tangle with mine and can never be ripped out. Lazy Sunday together ones and white picket fence ones.”

At his mussed hair and his crooked smile. At his eyes that hold more than I could ever ask for. I see love in them. I see pride. I see tomorrows.
I see forever.

‘Cuffed’ and I got off on the wrong foot.

I gritted my teeth and struggled on for the first half, wondering about the glowing reviews that this book has received, determined to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

After all, there was nothing remotely attractive in a petulant woman holding a childish grudge for a mistake made 20 years ago against a police officer, acting like the biggest flake in the world all because she’s running, commitment-free, from a past that’s yet to be revealed. And the mature woman she’s grown into knows just as well that it’s easier to blame her lack of trust and intimacy on a past she hasn’t gotten over, which is admittedly a tough one.

But there’re an equal number of books these days after all, that deal with the role-reversal of a woman not wanting any strings and being bitchy in her defence of it, whether the rationale for it is justified or not. Nothing really made Emerson any different from those other protagonists who are worn down by the charms of Grant Malone, who has been, up to this point, walking away from every woman he sleeps with because he's only been 'passing time with them', while he's loved her all along.

One would think that two decades might be a tad bit long for a grudge, or that the perception that she’s gained from it should have helped in the intervening years. Evidently not.

I think neither protagonist really interested me, nor could I like them much, which meant I kept reading on just to discover what Grant did in grade school though there are sufficient hints about what really happened. But to get to that is a frustrating exercise seeing Emerson pushing Grant away, just as Grant couldn’t let her go for when he sees her again, resulting in hostile sniping without getting to the heart of the issue…ad nauseam.

In the end, I found it was impossible to get past even the halfway point. There’s just something about the characters that rubbed me the wrong way and clearly ‘Cuffed’, as I suspected from the start,  just isn’t the book for me.

You know when you read a book and your heart is just kind of in your throat for a good fifty percent of it? Yeah. That's this book. Dear god my heart could barely handle it. I LOVED this story. So much. My heart is still a little beat up over it, and I'm 100% okay with that.

Emmy and Grant used to be childhood best-friends, until Grant told a secret that changed Emmy’s life and that meant the end of their friendship.
20 years later, Emmy is back to their hometown ready to settle in one place after spending two decades living a nomadic lifestyle.
Grant believes this is a second chance for them. Emmy doesn’t think she can be healed.
What she didn’t expect was Grant making sure this time he makes the decision that will keep her close.

This was a captivating and emotional romance. If you read K. Bromberg before you know she is extremely good on writing angsty romances and this one was no exception. It’s well written, has strong characters and even though I got frustrated with the MC’s decisions at some point, I was absorbed by their story and loved how everything turned out. If you’re into steamy emotional romances that may or may not draw some tears out of you, you’ll probably like this one.

Characters Development: Grant was absolutely amazing, he was sweet, caring, possessive and extremely supportive. Yes, his hero complex was a bit too much at times, but he was a very good hero. Emmy was a sweet woman and yes, she had a lot of trust and commitment issues, but it was easy to see where she came from considering her childhood. I liked her nonetheless. Grant’s family was absolutely amazing and I can’t wait for to read his brother’s books.

“See? You know what I’m talking about. You know that’s all a pain in the ass.”
“Kind of like you?”
“Yeah, but I’m a cute pain in the ass.”

This book was a very nice surprise. Based on the cover and the title I expected something hot and sexy or light and fluffy but the story was actually so much more - meaningful, heartbreaking, inspiring... Grant and Emerson were both likeable characters and I adored every single moment of their love story.

“It seems I have forgotten my handcuffs.” He chuckles and lands a smart slap on my ass.
“Oh, am I under arrest?”
“Definitely.”
The palm of his hand slides down the line of my spine.
“What’s the charge?”
“Making me want you. Every minute of every goddamn day.”

What made this book really special in my opinion were all the scenes with Grant and Keely. How he risked his job to save this little girl - yes, I admit, it brought some tears to my eyes.

I'm looking forward to the other Malone brothers' books and especially Desi's story. Her and Emerson's friendship was so wonderful to read about.

I decided to round down because despite liking the story very much, it took me freaking long to finish it. For some reason, I just never had that urge to not being able to put the book down.

My morning consisted of a fresh cup of coffee and settling down into my favorite cozy reading spot to start my read of Cuffed. I was immediately drawn into this second-chance romance between Emmy and Grant. Loved their banter. Loved their crazy reconnection. Loved them together. *Seriously never going to be able to drive past a CVS again without laughing out loud*

And then, whoa. Whoa. And cue the tissues.

Cuffed is so much more than a second-chance romance. It’s a story about a boy and a girl who loved each other at eight years old. And then find their way back to each other twenty years later. But there’s so much that happened in those twenty years apart. So many different layers—twists and turns. And so much that I can’t reveal. So much that you have to experience on your own. You need to feel all the feels. Trust me, it’s so fucking worth it.

I loved Emmy and her tough outer shell, that really contained a gooey soft center. Loved Grant and his need to fix things. Loved Desi—I need a best friend like her. Loved Grant’s brothers, Grady and Grayson. Their typical brother antics were hilarious. I can’t leave out Grant’s parents. I want to be Betsey Malone when I grow up.

Cuffed is an amazing journey toward love, forgiveness and acceptance, and I am so damn grateful to have been along for the ride. ~ Missy, 5 stars

One thing is for certain: K. Bromberg did not pull any punches in this story. She didn’t shy away from the tough stuff and she didn’t try to sugarcoat anything. What followed was an incredibly emotional, completely gripping, and 100% unputdownable story about trust, friendship, and the ability of love to bloom even in the most broken places.

I didn’t really expect this story to be so big or for it to go so deep. My heart broke for both Emmy and Grant – both past and present – even as it embraced the new relationship they were building. Unfortunately, I did not always connect with the romance. I actually enjoyed the secondary storylines in this one much more. I loved the time I got to spend with Grant’s family (seriously, they’re amazing), and the time spent exploring Emmy’s character arc. Don’t get me wrong – I completely adored Grant – he cracked me up, and burrowed his way deeply into my heart. It was the chemistry that was off for me, something about it kept me on the outside of their love story and while I definitely enjoyed reading it, I didn’t feel it on the level that I wanted to feel it.

Even despite feeling somehow disconnected from Emmy and Grant’s feelings, I had trouble putting this book down. Like I said – this story is big, which makes it even bigger than the romance and absolutely worth the read. Cuffed also set up the next stories in the series which I cannot wait for. Yes, Grant’s brothers? Completely intriguing, hilarious, and they have me dying for more from this family I cannot help to love. ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

K. Bromberg's stories are always synonymous with emotional, gripping and sexy novels that pretty much own you from the minute you start and then slay you until you finish the very last word. Grant and Emmy were so so consuming. Their story was addicting and I couldn't help but take a personal day to check out from the world and just throw myself into their story. That's the superstar effect K. Bromberg has. Her words are gorgeous and just let you sit back and feel.

At first glance, I never expected this book to have such a deep and impactful feel as Emmy and Grant's story. It packed a wallop of feels and just left you fighting tears. When Emmy Reeves returns home after twenty years, she faces the boy (now man) who had something to do with that fateful day she left. But what happens when painful memories combined with electric chemistry create a new connection between them?

I really enjoyed this story and Grant and Emmy as people but I had difficulty reconciling them as a couple in a way. I felt like Emmy fought it so much that it was difficult to accept that a switch was flipped and she had feelings for Grant all along. Granted, she was the victim of a terrible crime so of course there's alot of damage and baggage to wade through, which I felt the author addressed beautifully. Furthermore, I loved the banter between Emmy and Grant but was honestly in love with his relationship with his brothers just a tad more.

All in all this was a great start to the series and I look forward to more of the Malone brothers in the future! Bravo! 4 stars ~Ratula

The writing is not good and it cannot make me feel. The characters are much too annoying.

I neither feel the bond, nor the chemistry of the main characters. I can't understand the way the heroine's mind works. She is literally being ridiculous! The hero is also unlikable. Even the heroine's best friend is an awful friend.

***********************************************

The plot line doesn't make much sense. It is all over the place. I believe even the writer doesn't know what to do with the plot or the characters.

See for yourself:

Emmy Reeves—the girl I haven’t thought about in years—turns on her heel and walks away.
- Grant
(page 13)

***

Em’s always been there in my mind. Sure, it’s been a long ass time since third grade, but in some sort of way, I knew I’d see her again. She isn’t someone I could easily forget.
- Grant
(page 68
)

So, a million-dollar question is: "Did Grant ever think about his childhood best friend Emmy in the years they were apart or did he not?"

I can't stand inconsistencies or haphazard writing.

***********************************************

Already hating the characters and how the plot is executed, I do not want to waste any more of my time on it and therefore, I quit at page 97 of the 350-page book :(

***********************************************

P.S. I read Author's note at the end of the book and I appreciate the idea behind the book. I just wish it had been executed better... at least, for me.

I was going to grade the book with a very low rating but Author's Note stopped me. For the sake of the idea behind it, I just quit quietly...

We forget the memories and just chase the moments.

When you read a story and you can feel the author’s heart in her words...well...it’s the best feeling in the world! K. Bromberg can make you FEEL ALL THE THINGS! I FELT K. Bromberg in CUFFED, her latest romance entailing a hot cop hero with a huge heart and the woman he forever saves.

I fell in love with Cuffed from the Synopsis alone. I had not even sunk myself into the story but I KNEW it would be a heart-thrashing hit. Then the Prologue both melted and shattered my heart, and I was a GONER!!! After the Prologue, I realized: Cuffed is not simply a hot cop story with a little heart; it is a heartfelt and heart-wrenching tale with ALL THE HEART!!! My emotions took wind of their own and flew where I lost control, control of which I would have willingly surrendered.

HEAD UP. WINGS OUT.

Through her emotionally-woven stories like Cuffed, K. Bromberg drags readers through the dark and then shines the light, so PROMISING and POWERFUL.She portrays the good that grows from bad that triumphs over evil. It’s the strength in spades from this compelling author’s characters who survive severe storms, breaking free from the pain of the past to finally stay in the sunshine, which RESONATES long after the last page. With heroes and heroines who are as bold as they are beautiful, K. Bromberg’s characters in Cuffed and her other work are like her words: as MESMERIZING as they are MEANINGFUL.

Beautiful and broken, Emerson has been knocked down in life, her spirit and soul shattered. Her heart is practically encased in armor, protecting it...protecting her. Emerson has lost trust in the world, one that has constantly let her down. Oh did I want to hug this heroine whose heartbreak became mine, a heroine I quickly adored!

Emerson’s wings are broken until one hero swoops in from her childhood...

”I don’t need a hero.”

A persistent hero who helps her fly.

HEAD UP. WINGS OUT.

Officer Grant Malone is one HOT cop with a huge heart! He is fierce, flirty, and oh-so-sexy! Grant is a hero in every way who does the right thing, even if it risks his life and puts his job on the line.

This collision of past with present, dark with light, and a whole lot of fate was INEVITABLE.

”So sure of yourself, are you?”

“You’ve never been able to say no to me, Emerson.”

The banter BURNED me!!! Grant and Emerson possess the perfect of amount of passion and playfulness that had me HOOKED on them! Just MAGICAL together!!! This story SPARKS to life!!!

”You make me feel when I don’t want to feel.”

Grant, this hot cop and heartfelt hero, POSSESSED ME!!! Grant helps Emerson mend her wings that were destroyed, and I LOVED how he helps Emerson save herself. I LOVED everything about this alpha with all the heart! I was SMITTEN with Emerson, so beautiful and brave, with strength in spades. I LOVED this heroine as much as the hero!

”You always say I’m the hero, but you’re the one who saved me.”

Cuffed is not simply a hot cop romance; it’s so MUCH MORE!!! This SOUL-SHATTERING story shows that beauty can bleed from the ugly. It’s a tale that tackles tough issues—so thought-provoking—that forever remain. It’s a story about hope after heartbreak and happiness after hope. It’s a story of STRENGTH and SURVIVAL, one that stomps on your heart and steals your smiles along with your breath. Cuffed is about taking that leap of faith...living for the moment...living life now.

”You have to be all in or get all out. There is no halfway when it comes to love.”

Cuffed lightens with banter but brings battles to life—conquering demons deeply within—in one HEAVY and HEARTFELT story. Sexy yet sweet. Dark yet light. Turbulent yet tender. Broken yet beautiful. Cuffed is a fusion of fire and ice, a riveting romance that hits and holds the heart until the end. Oh was my heart hit!!! My soul shattered and soared!!! This story stole my breath and took my tears. I felt it all in this HEART-POUNDING JOURNEY, one that leaves a permanent mark on the heart!!!

HEAD UP. WINGS OUT.

I’m still flying...SO HIGH!!!

Kristy Bromberg has a new series in town and Ramona was so up for the challenge. The reviews were awesome and almost all of them spoke about emotion and broken hearts, so why not???? I wanted to see how much she could push me and expose that sensitive side that not always is easy to reveal in a person. After "Down Shift" I thought it would be very hard for her to reach that level of emotion and connection again, and even if for me it was nearly there, I have to admit that the ride was amazing.

"Cuffed" brings us 2 distinct characters that are nothing alike, but united by childhood memories. Emerson and Grant were best friends up the age of 8, until something terrible happens and Emerson doesn't want to see Grant again. 20 years later they reunite as grown-ups, but the minute they see each other everything comes back, plus a very strong attraction they try to fight.
It was impossible to focus only on one character, so of course I loved both and found them extremely interesting to explore.

Grant is a real life hero and being a police officer enables him to save a lot of people and serve as best he can. When Emerson walked away 20 years ago, he was devastated and consumed by guilt, because he felt that he could help her, but being so young, he was powerless. Having her back again made him realise that he was never over her, and now he is determined to keep Emerson in his life. He was extremely stubborn and really manage to handle her in the best way possible, because he really had a hard mission. His hero complex is very interesting and there were cases when he wanted so much from himself, that he pushed his limits and expectations extremely high. Everything came back to Emerson, to the day he felt he let her down. Now, he will pursue her, make her feel alive again and in the process, start a new life, without having the past constantly haunting them.
Emerson on the other hand was very hard to read at the beginning, and I had a hard time understanding her because I wasn't aware she was the victim of child abuse. She acted so bravely, never letting Grant know about what is really happening to her, never being in the open, but there were glimpse and pieces for the reader to receive through the book. For me those were heartbreaking and I just couldn't understand how a child could live something like this. Despite a very hard exterior, Emerson felt like a ticking bomb and there were parts in the books that just made her explode and we find out how she really coped after she left Grant 20 years ago. Those were very strong and I felt so much anger and not only for Emerson, but for the thousand of children that go through that every day.

The couple was explozive and amazing, because even if the push and pull was constant, I could feel a development, something that made Emerson's shield crack and trust Grant. It was very special to see them bond and by the end of the book, you truly feel like you experienced the couples problems in person. I was very involved in this plot and after finishing it, I felt exhausted, because I really felt everything and connected to each of their problems or happy scenes.

The story was extremely well written, with a lot of emotional parts that makes you reflect so much about certain aspects in life. After seeing that Kristy wrote this book from something she really lived, it broke my heart, not that I was not aware of it happening in real life, but I just imagined how hard it must have been for her to experience it again trough writing. The message at the end of the book for Olive made me tear up, the dedication was impacting, and I could feel her regret for not seeing her anymore, not knowing if she met a real life Grant that could save her like the way it happened with Emerson in the book. The message is so strong, and it overwhelms you in impossible ways, because you realize how fragile a person could be after such traumatizing events, and how a heart can be rebuilt with love, tenderness and trust.

4.5 stars!!

Grant and Emmy were childhood best friends. They spent all their spare time outside of school together and Emmy loved the warmth of Grant's family home, in fact it was a haven for her. She always felt like she was a part of their extended family. Grant and Emmy told each other everything, there were no secrets between them and when you are eight years old a pinky promise is like a binding legal document right?

Grant's father was a policeman so he grew up with a very strong sense of right and wrong. He knew the importance of always telling the truth and keeping himself safe. When Emmy confides in him about something that is upsetting her, one morning before school, he is left with a heavy lead feeling in his stomach. In fact the ache gets so bad that he breaks his pinky promise to her. He never saw her again after that day.

In the 20 years since then, Grant went on to become a policeman, like his dad. His brothers often say it is because he has a hero complex, he likes to save people. He has never forgotten Emmy and is shocked to see her again one night outside a bar one night in town. He had no idea what had become of Emmy and her family but she has crossed his mind a lot over the years.

Emmy is a now sky diving instructor, she likes to live life on the edge, taking risks each day she leaps out of a plane - 'head up, wings out.' She has led a bit of a gypsy life through her adult years so far and it has recently lead her back to her home town of Sunnyville. She is focused on buying the sky diving school from the current owners and essentially putting down roots for the first time in her life.

Emmy knew that she would eventually see Grant again, the town is too small to avoid him but there is no way in hell they can ever be friends. He betrayed her when he broke that pinky promise 20 years ago. However, Grant is relentless in his attempts to talk to her and spend time with her. And okay, yes, he has grown into a very gorgeous man, with a very nice butt and he looks hot in his police uniform.

Grant is determined to make up for his past mistake with Emmy, not just to appease his own guilt but because he knows he hurt his best friend and he has missed her so much. He had no idea how much his life would be affected all those years ago when he thought he was doing the right thing. He felt like he was being punished when he lost her. The other reason why he needs to talk to her is because seeing her again has made him realise how much he loves her and always has.

'She's sunshine with a little bit of hurricane thrown in, and I'm willingly walking straight into her storm with nothing more than the clothes on my back.'

'I just stare at her as the realization hits me again that I want to be a part of her beautiful destruction. All of it. Without a damn forecast to prepare me for what's coming next.'

Grant definitely has that hero factor about him and it shows in the way he cares for the people in their community, in fact he takes risks in his job at times, trying to save people as a way to heal his hurt over what happened with Emmy. So yes, we have one determined, stubborn as hell woman who is hell bent on denying any feelings she could be harboring for Grant. She is fiercely independent and likes to fight her own battles and we have the man who wants to be her hero!

'The harder you fight against me, the closer I'm going to pull you.'

But wait there is more - there are two more Malone brothers, Grayson and Grady, one of them is a firefighter and the other does search and rescue. And one of them is a single dad to a gorgeous boy - I cannot wait to find out more about that and really looking forward to reading their stories.

”I don’t need a hero.”

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVED this book! K. Bromberg could write the freaking dictionary and I would be first in line for a read-through! This woman is the REAL DEAL when it comes to the romance genre. She releases hit after hit after hit and makes her readers fall in love with her writing every single time. This author is coming out STRONG with a brand new series and she will be melting the hearts of readers everywhere with Grant and Emmy’s beautiful, emotional, and SEXY love story. CUFFED is book one in Bromberg’s newest EVERYDAY HEROES series, featuring three brothers that lead heroic lives with their chosen professions, and the women who bring them back down to earth to steal their hearts.

"You came. You saw. You can leave now because you won’t conquer.”

First up we have Officer Grant Malone and dare-devil Emmy Reeves. These two are quite the match. Who knew that you could experience heartbreak at the age of eight. Emmy Reeves knows all about that when Grant Malone broke her trust, along with her heart all those years ago. Years later and Emmy returns to her home town and catches the eye of the boy she once shared everything with. Feelings return, good AND bad, and that begins the dance of Emmy and Grant’s relationship. Grant wants to know EVERYTHING that happened with Emmy, but she has forgotten the past and has no longing to remember even a second of it. Grant has to walk on eggshells, but he’s loved Emmy all those years ago, and he will not give up so easily. If he has to lure her in with some friends-with-benefits nonsense, so be it. He wants so much more than that, and he plans on breaking down whatever walls Emmy keeps building around her heart to achieve it.

“Did you really think I was going to let you go without a fight? I’ve lost you once before, Em. You’re out of your mind if you think I’m going to let it happen again.”

Oh, Officer Malone - how you make me swoon from head to toe!

CUFFED isn’t your standard friends-to-lovers/second-chance romance. It’s so much more than that. This is an intense and emotional read. One that will break and mend your heart in one fell swoop. Where there is emotion, there is passion and CUFFED has it in spades. K. Bromberg is back and better than ever with the release of CUFFED! She has me extremely pumped for this series and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for Grayson and Grady!

Be still my beating heart!!!! K. Bromberg has truly written a gem of a read that has mesmerized me right from the start. Cuffed was everything you expected from K. Bromberg and so much more. While friends to lovers might typically get grouped into being predictable, Cuffed was so different from than that. This book was the perfect symphony of romance, raw emotions, and sweetness that carried a real storyline that will grip any reader’s heart. So if you are looking for a book that was high on passion, intensity, and love then I highly recommend you to read this book. I seriously can’t wait to read what’s in store for the other Malone siblings.

Holy Moly! And here I thought I will be swooning from cover to cover or I will be dead because of the overloaded hotness!I never expected to have been swimming in tears and gasping for air to breathe. Damn Kristy! You woman is phenomenal and that clearly showed in your latest book, Cuffed . Who would have thought I more than needed to be cuffed? Man, I needed to be cuddled after this heart felt and emotional journey of Phoney Maloney and Emmy to Grant and Emerson. Cuffed made my jaw dropped with tears in my eyes and a heart wrenched so tight and a hope. Yeah. a hope... *sigh. Man, you made me cry again but now you have given me hope and utter bliss of love.

So, let me continue by saying, I am always elated to read Kristy's works. She's one of my unicorn author and this goes by saying I will read whatever she writes because I know and I trusted her words and her delivery. As always, I am in awe and I am still forever in awe that's for sure. Every book she releases were unique and incredible. Each with it's own identity, substance and depth and each marked my heart every time. But Cuffed is another story. It was not just unique but it was EVERYTHING. Talk about swooning and fantasizing over the hero with heart eyes but no, the ride I had been more than that. It did not just leave a mark, it was absorbed and felt with my whole being.

In true K. Bromberg's fashion, I have been swooning and wanted to be cuffed by Officer Sexy. Like hello? Have you seen the cover? What book whore do you think could pass up with that lickable man? Damn! It was a mixture of swoon and lust! But hell, I was given a story that more than just entertained me and made my girly bits to tingle and my ovary to explode. Cuffed ripped my heart and soul. It made me cry and pained over a woman broken and marred, yet lived a life with determination and hope. A woman so strong despite the mountains she's been through. It made me also cheer over a man to not lose hope. To up his game and his determination. To continue serving without doubts and to forgive himself over a past he's got no hold. Their journey was one I did not saw coming. I was so wrong to assume it's one sexy and light hearted read with a twist. Second chances of love and all that. But no, it's twists and turns shattered my heart more than I thought it would be. Cuffed is a book that will forever be etched in my heart and mind. It was different yet all the same the best I read from Kristy to date.

But make no mistake, Cuffed wasn't hard to read. Despite the tough issue and monsters' the character's battled from their past, Kristy made sure you won't struggle to read this book. Everything as was flawlessly written. You will be hooked to read and feel. You will be pulled right into the story immediately. I was laughing to the hilarity of the character's banters to cheering them on. The hot scenes were definitely scorching. One moment I was smiling, then laughing and swooning to suddenly realized I was crying. Again, all these were written incredibly that you'll be captivated and intrigued that you'll just turn the pages engrossed with the turn of the events, with your emotions in your sleeve. The secondary characters were as amazing as the primary one's. If you love Grant and Emerson, you'll also adore Desi and the other Malone brothers. They're the characters you wanted be with. And Kristy's writing? No question and complaints about that. She's sensational and brilliant. She covered all the bases.

To end, I would love for you all to read this wonderful book. It's not just a tale of boy meets girl, became friends, separated by fate then reunited by fate. It's a powerful and moving journey of pinky promises, broken promises, forgiveness, trust, acceptance, hope, friendship and love. As I read this book, I pondered, super heroes really does exist. For Emerson it was Grant. For Grant it was Emerson. Such a beautiful ride I had. It was swoony, hilarious, and it broke my heart but Kristy fixed and healed it beautifully. Cuffed is a book that will forever be etched in my heart and mind. It was different yet all the same the best I read from Kristy to date.

I haven't stayed up in so long to read a book and this book...THIS BOOK...This book made my heart so happy! I could not put it down!!!!!
Grant and Emerson were best friends in the third grade until one day be broke his pinky promise to her and she vowed to hate him forever.
Seeing her twenty years later is a shock to him and while she tries to push him away, he relentlessly pursues her for a friendship because he has missed her all these years, wondering what has become of her since she moved away so many years ago.
The way he installs himself in her life—making her angry as all hell—had me laughing out loud. This back and forth battle so quintessentially "them" had me falling in love with them over and over again.
Grant has always wanted to be her hero so I loved his profession as a cop and the way in which he put one particular case at the forefront of his mind—not just doing a job for the sake of doing a job—but because he is a good person, with a heart wanting to do what's right because he could not save the one person who he has always loved—Emerson from her tragic past.
Some of the chapters are told in past POV where you get to fully see the back story and my heart plummeted in my chest and it just brought tears to my eyes... wait til you read the author's note in the back *ugly cries*
Cuffed is my new favorite Bromberg book—it has everything you want in a book—a great story, a swoon worthy hero, a strong heroine and I promise you that it will bring out all the feels. This book will wreck havoc on your emotions—it is a powerful story of overcoming the past hurts, finding trust in the ones that will never let you down and will showcase a love that is so pure that your heart will sing with joy. Cuffed is an EPIC friends to lovers (and second chance love story!) that will stay with you for a long time. This book is the start of a new series by Bromberg that is on my TBR list and I can not wait for more!!! #TopFave2017

4,5 stars! Childhood's friends, second chances, lots of steam and surprisingly even more emotions. It was really fantastic, heartbreaking and uplifting story.

Protective hero and feisty heroine who doesn't like it? I sure do! But there is more than just another beloved heroes who do not fully acknowledge their feelings. It is about struggling with the devastating past, which they have to face after twenty years. For fans of typical romances, there are really hot scenes and romantic, swoon worthy moments.

And when you reach the end, be sure to read the note, you will feel even more for this story, because it is written based on real experience. It really froze my blood and made me even more impressed by this book.

It's a new series of stand alones, and I already can't wait to read about the next Malone's brother.

Is this girl really going to hold a grudge over something that happened 20 years ago in 3rd grade, when they were 8 years old? From the blurb:"those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears..." If it wasn't in the blurb I wouldn't believe it. Well...yawning... I can only imagine immaturity galore here.
And of course a bitchy, female mc. Can't do
