C.C. Hello! I'm Carmen from Canada and the Official Book Fairy of Canada. I am so excited to start sharing books and thoughts in this group! I enjoy contemporary fiction and classics. I also like to read stories about animals, the environment and WWII (strange I know) When I'm not reading I work as a Veterinary Technician.

message 153: by Nathalia (new)

Nathalia (natozorrilla) | 12 comments Hi!
I'm Nathalia from Torreón, Mexico. I enjoy reading so much that I feel I don't read enough (booknerd problem, I know). At the moment I'm a bit obsessive with classic literature. I have this feeling that I have no right on reading anything else unless I'm through the classics... I'm thrill to be part of this book club and hopefully I'll keep up with the reading.

Nat.

Varun Vasudev | 1 comments Hi, I'm Varun. I heard about this through some friends back home in India. Absolutely love this idea. I am currently studying in belgium. I love to read. Listen to audiobooks as well. Travelling and eating go hand in hand for me. Always up for a good conversation. Thanks for having me :)

Elizabeth Hamilton-pearce | 1 comments Hi! I'm Beth and I live in North Yorkshire, UK.

I love to read fiction of all genres and try to mix it up with different styles.

I am always seeking new to me reads and hate to reread when there are so many books out there I haven't read yet. The only exception to this is the Outlander series which I tend to revisit every few years as Jamie Fraser was my first great love as an impressionable teen 20 something years ago!

Haha, I know! My daily Goodreads addiction and my Book Fairy obsession have come together - perfect! If I didn't want to drop books, I might never be seen in public again!

Franciele Fracalossi | 1 comments Hello, my name is Franciele Fracalossi, I'm Brazilian, but leaving in Edinburgh, Scotland now.

message 158: by Chantal (new)

Chantal Mendes | 1 comments Hi fairies,

I'm Chantal and currently living in St Albans, UK. I read most genres and always keen to read books I might not have picked up in a bookshop through book groups. I used to be part of a small book group and miss the discussion (and wine).

Looking forward to reading along with you all

Chantal x

message 159: by Garance (new)

Garance (bgarance) | 10 comments Ah Chantal! Important issue you're raising here. How do we deal with the wine in this book club? 😜

Sara Di | 4 comments Hi everyone!

I'm Sara, from Italy. I've just ordered some goodies (green bag + some stickers) so I can be a book fairy on the 18th September (hide a book day) and then I found out about this group and I simply HAD to join it.

I love reading and I pretty much read anything, just give me a book and I feel complete.

I'm very excited about this group and about the whole idea of book fairies.

message 164: by Suvi (last edited Sep 02, 2017 01:08PM) (new)

Suvi (orpheusbooks) | 6 comments Hello hello!

I'm Suvi from Turku, Finland. I'm currently writing my Master's Thesis and working as a freelance translator.

My taste in books is pretty varied, but I tend to avoid self-help and romance/chick-lit (unless it's Valley of the Dolls). Stephen King has been one of my favorites since I was 13 or so, but I love Agatha Christie and heavy classics as well. In my free time I also love biking, watching movies/TV (horror, film noir, superhero stuff etc.), travelling, and sitting in cafés eating cake.

My long-term project at the moment is re-reading Chronicles of Narnia, and I'm usually reading several books at once. Something non-fiction/heavy/long alongside something short/light.

Looking forward to talking with you guys! I've received my Book Fairy stickers, but I'm still trying to decide which books I want to leave for others to enjoy.

message 165: by Linda (new)

Linda Hello! My name is Linda and I live in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Like all of you, I have a passion for reading. I particularly enjoy historical fiction but will read anything from contemporary fiction to biographies to thrillers to the classics. I'm delighted to be a part of this group and to meet other book fairies from around the world.

message 166: by William (new)

William | 1 comments Hey! My name is William and I’m from Denmark.

I just finished reading “Brothers and Keepers: A memoir” (by John Wideman) today (really gets you thinking about your own odds in life).
I have always loved reading fantasy but have recently started reading a wider selection of genres. My next book adventure will probably be either Happiness: a memoir (by Heather Harpham) or Holding Up the Universe (by Jennifer Niven)

message 167: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | thebookwormsfeast (thebookwormsfeast) | 1 comments Hello! I'm Hannah and I'm in Shropshire, UK.

I love a wide range of genres, but predominantly fantasy - it's my favourite. A few of my favourite authors are Fredrik Backman, Victoria Schwab, Patrick Rothfuss, Mark Lawrence, and I recently discovered Neil Gaiman.

I love to read and buy way more books than I can keep up with.

I've just ordered my first batch of Book Fairy stickers to start spreading the love where I live and visit!

message 175: by Danada (new)

Danada Hi all,

I live up near the White Mountains of New Hampshire -- It's a great place to knit and read (all that cold and snow, not to mention mud seasons).

I'm currently working on a cozy afghan designed by Elizabeth Zimmerman to curl up under while I read the gazillion books in my to read pile this winter ;)

I love Classics, SF & Fantasy, YA & Children's Lit, cozy mysteries, historical fiction......

happy reading everyone!

message 177: by D.L. (new)

D.L. Hopkins | 16 comments Hello there! I'm Debbie, I love to read, write, collect books, sit in the same room with books and just generally enjoy them. A room without books is alone and lonely, need more books! I read everything. I can't wait to be a book fairy and share my love! Can't wait to get to know more of you!

message 178: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 43 comments Hi. I'm Ashley. I'd been considering joining this group for a while now, I just wasn't sure if I was ready to commit to two groups (I'm also a member of Our Shared Shelf, it was the first book club I ever joined).

I have The Tenant of Wildfell Hall in my cart on Amazon, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to purchase it. I'm currently in college, saving for a wedding, and need to keep enough money in account for two trips home and one trip back to college before pay day, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to read this first book with everyone (even though it is so cheap).

Anyways, this is an introduction, so I guess a little about myself: I live in Montana. I'm currently on my last of year of college studying to be a high school math teacher. I love reading, and I am an aspiring author. I am a soon-to-be book fairy - I'm waiting on my first order of book fairy supplies to get to me, and I can't wait to get started with that! Already have some books lined up.

So happy to be here, and really hope I will be able to get The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and read it with you all this month!

message 179: by LJF (new)

LJF | 2 comments Hey guys, I'm LJF. I live in the US, and I've always loved reading, fantasy especially.
The past few years I've been getting more into contemporary stuff and classics.
I mostly read YA novels, and though i do read sci-fi and historical fiction, I'm very picky about it.
I adore regency/Victorian fantasies.
I really, really love light novels - mot people haven't heard of them. They're short (usually under 300 pages) YA novels originally written in Japanese (translated to english, of course).
I like writing.
The best three books I've read recently are Erased, Vol. 1 (a psychological mystery about a young man sent back to his 11-year-old self to prevent a kidnapping), Snowspelled (a regency fantasy about a young woman who has lost the use of her magic), and last (but definitely not the least!) The Count of Monte Cristo (a classic tale of revenge and intrigue by the author of The Three Musketeers).

I'll keep an eye out there!

Also, I'll be going home for a field experience tomorrow through next week, so I might be able to look for a copy in some local book stores and talk to my fiance if he might be willing to buy me a copy.

message 187: by Sandi (new)

Sandi (lifeisasnap) Hello fellow book fairies! I'm Sandi, I live in Lincoln, California, USA which is in Northern California. Perfect spot for mountain hiking, beaching and booking placing. I'm hoping one day we get a NorCal Book Fairies representative. 😀

I love the idea of all us fairies having a book club! Can't wait to hear your thoughts and get involved in the discussions on the books we read here. Who's excited for Anne Brontë?

message 189: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Dixon | 2 comments Hi, I'm Melinda from Nottinghamshire, England. I love books and reading of course but sometimes struggle to find the time being a working mum with 3 young children. I try to make time at least 3 times a week and enjoy discussing books with others. :-)

Sharon (fiona64) Hello! I'm Sharon. I live in the Silicon Valley, USA. My favorite genres to read are historical fiction and mysteries.

I'm also an author ... and that's a story for another time.

message 191: by Stella (new)

Stella I am Stella, from Port Orchard, Washington, USA. I love books, especially children's books. I collect picture books. I have donated many books to public schools and public libraries, but never left one for someone to find. That might take a little courage...(facing fears of the book being lost, left behind or damaged)...but it is something I would like to do!

message 192: by Elsa (last edited Sep 11, 2017 07:52AM) (new)

Elsa Carrion (ecarrion) | 55 comments Member #583!

Name is Elsa from Oklahoma City USA. Great to have found this group. I love to read and share books unfortunately everyone is so busy no w and days that there are only a handful of individuals that I know who actually still read for pleasure and that is why I believe the whole fairy concept is so important.

message 193: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (thisnortherngal) | 4 comments Hi, I'm Kelly from North East England. At the moment, I am on a major fantasy binge. I've just finished my degree and am taking some time off before I do a grad scheme next year!

message 194: by C. S. (new)

C. S. (c_s_rambo) | 4 comments My name's Chandra, and I live in North Carolina, U.S. I read a lot of fantasy and some sci-fi, occasional horror, broad range of non-fic. I go through phases with other genre's too, lately been on a hard-boiled-detective novel kick (Raymond Chandler, Dashiel Hammett, Michael Connolly.) Also love magical realism and fantasy/humor stuff, like Jasper Fforde/Terry Pratchett.

message 195: by Spencer (new)

Spencer | 16 comments Hello everyone, I am Spencer and I currently live in Michigan, USA although I hope to reunite with family in the UK after medical school.

I enjoy reading a variety of books, anywhere from biographies and non-fiction to classic lit and thrillers. My favourite book of all-time though might have to be Wuthering Heights, for one reason or another. I also happen to be a fellow book fairy :) Feel free to friend me, I like meeting new people who share common interests!

message 196: by Jindejak (elsewhere? how?) (last edited Sep 12, 2017 07:22AM) (new)

Jindejak (elsewhere? how?) | 2 comments Hi I am Jindejak (although in other groups it has been shortened to JJ or Jinde by members). I am not sure I am a book fairy but have been reading since I was about 2 and have all sorts of genres in my personal library.

I have been doing OL because my RL is so hectic going to a "live" book club has not been possible. I have 14hr days between work and commute so don't be surprised if I seem to go walkabout for long periods w/o comment.

message 197: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Hi everyone! I'm Hannah and I currently live in Chicago, Illinois. I moved here recently and am looking to gain some bookish friends. I enjoy genres of most kinds, including YA, sci fi, fantasy, horror, and mystery. I'm open to reading almost anything and look forward to meeting and talking with you!

message 198: by Heather (new)

Heather Catuzo | 4 comments I'm Heather from Port Angeles, Washington (USA). I live in a fairly remote part of Washington State (very near where the Twilight series was set). I love science fantasy, fiction, horror, and psychological thrillers.

message 199: by Library Nymph (new)

Library Nymph (librarynymph) | 1 comments Hi! I'm Lauren from the south-east USA. I love the Book Fairy idea, I think it's one of the most lovely ideas I've heard in the book world.
: )

I like to read classics and fantasy the most, but am a fairly eclectic reader. My favorite classic of all time is Jane Eyre and as been since I was twelve. I love to be carried away by a good fantasy, and love the books by Patricia McKillip. I like to hang out in cafe/bookstores for as long as possible. I enjoy a book that makes me feel, whether it is to laugh or cry.
I'm also a big fan of music, which I listen to when reading, and I love art. I always have a book with me. Just like Rory Gilmore, I think reading is sexy. ; )

message 200: by Leandri (new)

Leandri Barnard | 1 comments Hi, I am Leandri from South Africa.

I love reading a variety of books from non-fiction to adventure. I am currently studying a degree in Architecture and books are my favorite escape from all the hard work.

I am thrilled to be a part of this group. :)
