I remember this book clearly, read it in 2004. A girl starts middle school, and it's your typical coming of age book. Short and sweet. She makes friends with a fat girl named Margo, and the narrator is short. At one point she makes a pun about having short jeans/genes. She sees a teacher kissing another teacher and tells Margo in the bathroom, and another student overhears and gets the rumor blown out of proportion. There's confusion about the meaning of French kissing. At the end there's a boy perhaps, and the narrator and Margo each say they're staying over at the others house and run away to help this boy.
