Scarlett was deeply impacted by the murder of her friend, Michelle, when she was in college and the suspect, Trent Bracken, wasn't tried. Do you expect this storyline to continue in a future book? Were you expecting more attention to this aspect of the story?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I did think there would be more about him. What a scumbag. Hope we see him get his just desserts in a future book.

I do, too. It was disappointing to not see more about this story.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments The murder of Michelle was a life altering event for Scarlett. I thought Trent was tried but acquitted. Am I wrong? I also expected more of this story line and I do expect to see him again a future book. Nasties like him just don't fare well in Karen Rose land.

I may have missed that he was tried. Somehow I got the impression he was under suspicion but was never brought to trial. I could DEFINITELY be wrong about that.

Oops! Just went and checked. Scarlett said about the defense attorneys that hired him, "They're just like the animals who got Bracken off in the first place." That does imply a trial.
