there is a TV show/movie about a girl who is found and has a connection with an amazing large sea turtle and it becomes kinda a Moby Dick tale? I can't remember the movie name off the top of my head but I can find it if this is the same story?

Who rescues the girl? Is she found in the ocean and not washed up on a beach? About how old is the girl?
What's the tone - mystery, suspense, sad, angsty, romance, funny at times, etc.?

Glad I was able to find it. According to IMDb someone is working on a sequel of some kind called "Back from the Bermuda Depths" for 2018. Of course there are no details on just what the film makers plan to do.
