I got hooked on the JOANNA BRADY series by J. A. Jance right from the first book. To date I have read all of them. Not crazy about the narrator that was chosen for the Joanna Brady series. Got hooked on the AMELIA PEABODY series when I heard Barbara Rosenblatt narrate CROCODILE ON THE SANDBANK. No one can replace her as narrator of this series. They tried, but it wasn't the same. Now I have my daughter hooked on Amelia and Company. These two series are just a fraction of the series I love. I love C. S. Harris's SEBASTIAN ST. CYR books, Deanna Raybourne's VICTORIA SPEEDWELL series. Standalone books depends on the author.

I really enjoyed reading Joni Dee's book; And The Wolf Shall Dwell. It's an exciting Thriller that definitely packs a punch. Well worth a read.

A recent one that really surprised me, and grabbed me from the first chapter, is 'The Cry' by Helen Fitzgerald. It had a clean, taut style and a plot that kept me guessing until the very end. I'd definitely recommend it.

Years ago, Remote Control by Andy McNab. It got me totally hooked on the Nick Stone series.

Storm Front, Furies of Calderon and The Aeronaut's Windlass all by Jim Butcher. All are fantasy novels but each is in a different sub genre of fantasy.

Storm Front is urban fantasy. Furies of Calderon is J.R.R. Tolkien-style epic high swords-and-sorcery fantasy and The Aeronaut's Windlass is steampunk.
