Yahoo! I finally reviewed a book! I reviewed Buzz Books 2017: Fall/Winter on NetGalley only. There are so many good books in there. I will probably end up requesting a few, but I want to finish up a few that I already have first.

woot woot!
woot woot!
Did anyone else request
?
It was one of those ones sent in an email to me and so I clicked the shiny request button, but I'm not usually someone that reads war books.
And it is awesome.
Such tension and suspense, along with great characters.
My favourite type of book is the one you least expect to love!

I did not request that one. I don't typically read war stories either. I'm glad you're loving it though. I look forward to your review.
Read one and got approved for one, so I'm back where I started. lol Still better than last month. :) I still have 5 books on my pending shelf, so my goal will be to read at least as many books as I am approved for this month. I just got
. Two of my GR friends have already read this one and they both gave it 5 stars, so I have high hopes for this one.

Alice Hoffman has agreed to do a Q&A with our group in November. If you want to get a hold of her new book prior, here are the links to request:

Oh, Karen. I was NOT going to request more. lol I actually have never read anything by Alice Hoffman and have been meaning to. I'm not sure if this would be a good place to start. The reviews are excellent so far. Your second link says it is for the US, not sure about other countries.
Has anyone in this thread read The Rules of Magic or maybe Practical Magic, since this is the prequel? What did you think?
I say "other countries" as I requested it and I'm not in the US and I was approved ;)
I also haven't read practical magic although I see it's being re-released in October I guess because people will want to read it after the Rules of Magic :)

Ah, I see! I put a request in. I'm not sure if I'll get it right now because I have quite a few books on my shelf over 3 months old and I haven't had many reviews recently.

Books:
The Beekeeper by Stewart Giles : 😔such a let down ,an easy read ,but too easy to guess who the killer is
Just added
The Vengeance of Mothers by Jim Fergusto my NetGalley shelf because it's book 2 to the One Thousand White Woman series and I won a copy of
One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd book 1 and I'm reading it right now ,
Two reviews up today in an attempt to make up for going nuts on the request button during the week but as I was approved for these three books I think I'm still down:
(woohoo!!!) and
Currrently swithering over whether or not I should request
hereHas anyone noticed they've been pottering about with the Give Feedback section? It looks like they're going to show all reviews
I got on top of my TBR on Netgalley recently, but it's starting to spiral out of control again sadly..
I lost control recently, but I'm taking it back over the next couple of months. :) I should have a bit more reading time in about a week after my grandson goes home. I haven't been getting much reading done while he's been visiting, which is ok with me. I have started two NetGalley books recently though, so I should be able to finish those this month.
I've finished one and added one and I'm going to do my best to read another, but I have a big uni assignment which is taking all my time at the moment :(
Like many of you, I also lost control recently, though it had more to do with falling behind. Last month I read several books, but didn't review any. Plus, I received a few new ones. I've been avoiding searching the available books because of this. Fortunately, I'm starting to catch up a little. I hope I can keep it up!
Floating around on Twitter and just came across a NetGalley announcement. Going forward when you submit a review it will automatically be displayed on the titles page. You'll be able to see other members reviews and average ratingsDo you think that means the Top Reviewer Badge will disappear?

Alison wrote: "Do you think that means the Top Reviewer Badge will disappear?"I was wondering about that too. I would think that if you've already received the badge you would get to keep it, but they wouldn't be able to do it the same way moving forward. Maybe you will get it for something else, such as a certain number of reviews marked as helpful a certain number of times?
Moderators of NBRC wrote: "Just in case you'd like to add another book to your TBR ;)Giveaway starting September 2 for
"Thank goodness I already have that one!
I hope that Badge doesn't dissapear cause I want it (even though I'm not sure how or if I would ever be able to get it xD) but the idea of seeing other reviews is interesting. Let's make a pact that anytime we request something that can't be sent to kindle we add that to the first line of the review :'D
My month was going great until I signed up to be a freelance translator on a websaite and now I have to translate 30,000 words for Monday, and I already did other 10,000 last week... I'm not reading nearly as much as I wanted to :/
I like seeing the reviews too. It always annoyed me that the publisher could decide what reviews to make public. Hopefully they will make a new badge like Kristie said.
Eek Michelle, that sounds like exhausting work!!

Feed Your Readers, the NetGalley Challenge
Duration: Monthly
How to Participate:
The NetGalley Challenge is designed to not only get you to read your NetGalley books, but to also advertise your reviews for others to see because after all, that's what NetGalley is all about.
Though you may pop in/out at any time, the NetGalley Challenge will run on a monthly basis so you are able to see progress being made.
1. At the beginning of the month, post any/all of the following:
a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf
b: What books are on your NG shelf
c: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is
2. During the month, read the NetGalley books that you can AND update your post with your reviews. (You can do this after each book or wait until the end of the month.)
3. At the end of the month, update your post and with:
a: What books you read
b: Link(s) to your review(s)**
c: Your updated shelf count
d: Your updated books to read
e: Your updated ratio
Then start a new post for the next month!
Do you ever get so caught up in your reading that you don't want to stop to write your reviews?
Thinking about that, it was decided we need a "Review Weekend", once each month, set aside to write those reviews you've been not doing in favor of reading!
Review Weekends will vary randomly each month and is meant to be a time set aside to review. Take one, or both days and get caught up on reviews so you can spend the rest of the month reading!!
The next Review Weekend is set for Aug 19/20
**When linking your reviews, please link only to the book(s) here at GoodReads. At this time, linking to a personal blog is not allowed. Thank you!
