NetGalley August 2017
I have to admit before I hit the request button I go off and check the reviews here so I suppose this means I can skip a step :)Do you think they'll still add the review if it's for a book that was archived 2 years ago? Not that I have any of those on my shelf of course ;)
Ok so I added to more to my list 😁,but some how I ended up requesting a 11 NetGalley books🤔At the same time
I have happily started a few of my NetGalley books. I figured I'd give a quick update.
- I'm at 26% and am curious to see where it goes. I'm reading it for a a read-a-thon I'm doing in another group, so I hope to have it done tomorrow.
- I made it to 14% and put it aside. I just couldn't get into it. I haven't given up on it yet. I think maybe I'm just not in the mood for it today.
- 31% So far, so good. I'm finding it interesting if not enthralling.
- 35% Started for a buddy read. I'm enjoying it. I really don't know what's going on. I had some initial theories, but I don't think they will turn out to be right. I really hope they're not right.
- 3% I started this one on my Kindle app on my phone while I was out. I should not have started it. It really grabbed me and I don't have time to read it right now because I need to finish some of the others I've already started. Maybe it will give me some motivation to finish the others so I can get back to this one.
- 9% Another mystery thriller type book. I started this one and had to pause it because I have too many similar books going at once. My initial thought is that I'm curious what happened and who did it, but the husband annoys me. Hopefully, I'll finish at least a couple of these before the end of the month. I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep up with my attempt to finish as many books as I add this month, but I'm sure going to try!
I still have six on my pending shelf and have already added 4 this month, with only 1 read and reviewed.
Wow Kristie, you have a few on the go!
I finished
and then made the mistake of seeing what else that publisher had (because so far their books have been really useful) and I requested and had approval given for 3 more :o

They're good to read on the train and I use the reviews as part of the social media for my business :)

Which one did you get, Elizabeth? I've got 6 still sitting on my pending shelf. I wish they'd just give a response one way or the other.
I finished Everything You Want Me to Be and just need to write the review. I am also making progress on The Breakdown and Hook's Tale. I seem to have finally broken out of my starting, but not finishing books trend, so now I'm going back and finishing all the books I started.

The 2 I just got are :
Bound by Thorns( m/m paranormal romance) by Sean Michael, &
The Whispering Roomby Dean Koontz( Thriller)I read the the first book to his new series a few months ago.
I still have the first book in that Koontz series on my shelf. I should get a move on! I assume you liked the first one well enough to have requested the second?

That's too bad. I always try to keep my ARCs, unless they are the ones that you can't open on your Kindle. Those frustrate me. I wonder if I should assume I'll like the first one and request the second? I generally like Koontz's writing.

I always keep the ones I loved to re read and Deleted the ones I hate or DNF 100%
I finally got around to reviewing Everything You Want Me to Be. That was my last book from 2016. I don't know why I waited so long to read it.
Everything You Want Me to Be review
Looks like I might be getting any more NetGalley books, I was to have got

I was also able to download today, so I don't think it's NetGalley. Unless it's something with those specific titles? Perhaps check your internet connection? I know I had a problem once sending titles to my Kindle and it took a while for me to figure out there was an internet problem.

Just got
and
, these were the 2 I was having trouble getting, sent an email to NetGalley, and got back to me ,looks like I wasn't the only one have the trouble of getting their books for some reason there was a delay problem , and it's fix now.
Just got one of my requested books ,and I can say that it was the title that got to me.
The Bookworm: A Novel
Oh man, I am having such trouble this month, guys. I have so many books that I'm interested in, and because I am nearly 90% now, I keep getting approved!! What a terrible problem to have.
That one looks so good, Elizabeth!Haha....terrible problem, Nicole. lol I was up there for a bit too, now I'm going backwards. I have quite a few on my pending shelf that are just sitting there though.
Yeah, my pending shelf is thankfully quite small after this week. I've had an influx of publishers answering my requests just now :)
I wish they'd answer mine! One way or the other. For some reason it really bothers me to have books sitting on my pending shelf.
I just.got one of my 11 books I requested:
Before It's Too Late it's book 2 to a series ,I actually read book 1 last year, and loved it😞 unfortunately thinks to some help from my beloved reading buddy Spooky , the first book ARC got deleted.
I finished another! I just finished
. I will do my review within the next couple of days. I am also more than halfway through
. I plan to finish that before the end of the month too. Looks like this will be a decent NetGalley month. I think next up will be
next month.

I'm back up to 85%, which is where I started the month! Woot! Plus, I only need 6 more reviews to get my 100 reviews badge. :D
I'm almost at 200 since this group began last year. I wonder if I'll get a badge at that point as well...

nice!
You guys just made me wonder... so I checked and I'm only at 89 reviews. That's now my goal - is to get to 100!

Has anyone ever accidentally given feedback for the wrong title? I was submitting my review when I was way too tired and I didn't realize till afterward that I had entered it all for the wrong title. I deleted the review, but I couldn't undo the star rating and it shows that I've given feedback on the title... I put in the notes that I made a mistake and that I would review the actual title soon... is there anything else I should do?? I feel so dumb lol
I haven't done that, Casey. (At least not yet. lol) I would probably just send a message to the publisher explaining as you did. I don't think there's much else you can do. I would probably move that book up to the top of my list too so I could put in the proper review. You may be able to change the star rating, if you choose, when you add the new review.

I love when people note that in their review!
I also like the idea of having the reviews on the page. I'm looking forward to seeing what other NetGalley reviewers think of the books.
