Young woman coming from Mars, I think. There is a virus on earth that keeps space people off earth

As the header says, there is a virus on earth that keeps it quarantined. The young woman is coming from another planet -- perhaps Mars. In some ways it is reminiscent of a Heinlein-inspired hero -- gutsy, smart, inventive. I believe she does go down to earth, but I cannot remember.

It was relatively new, written in the style similar to the juvenile science fiction Heinlein in tone. There were a couple of near-sex scenes, I think.

This could be "Starbound" by Joe Haldeman - but in that book there's a disease on Mars, so it is the planet that's quarantined, not Earth. Starbound

Andy, thanks for the suggestion. Alas, it is not the book I am searching for.

The heroine in my book is unmarried, but may have a boyfriend, or maybe he is someone she'd like to be involved with.
It's definitely a problem with earth and the inability of the people in the spaceship not being able to disembark.
