Jessie | 5 comments I loved this library book, I read it in the early 2000's. It's about a young woman from a wealthy home who gets on a train or stage coach to run from an arranged marriage where she decides to become a mail order bride. The husband is grumpy and overwhelmed with a farm or ranch and 2 or 3 kids, all girls I think. The house is a mess andthe kids are struggling but she gets everything running smoothly in no time. The farmer/rancher sleeps in the barn as I recall. They fall in love and before they marry he admits his wife isn't dead, she abandoned the family and run off with another man. Well, she turns up just before the wedding because she needs money and she thinks the wealthy mail order bride will give her some money to get her to go away. She says she just wants her kids because she misses them so the man and woman let her have the kids and they pretend to be brats so the wife finally signs divorce papers and leaves town.
I hope this sounds familiar to someone! I would like to read it again.

Jessie | 5 comments One more thing about the mail order bride book, it was funny, as I recall. The bride was clever and thr rancher/ farmer was kind of inept.

Jessie | 5 comments Not sure, our library doesn't have that title.
I think the kids were actually his nieces who he is raising because his brother died and their flighty mother ran off.
Thank you for your help!

Jessie, check with your library and see if they will do an Interlibrary loan for the book. Some libraries do it for free, others charge you the price of shipping the book (so figure about 3 to 4 dollars for the round trip).
