Finished The Way to a Man's Heart today. It wasn't bad, but not great either. I liked the writing style well enough to check out other books by the author, so maybe this was just a bad book.

I didn't get a chance to update again last night but I finished my KGI read, No Place to Run, and then I finished my Humorous read today too. No Place to Run missed the mark for me, and with what I'm hearing in the Pamela Clare Reading Group Facebook page, I'm really doubting I want to continue with the series.
My Humorous read, Falling for You, was pretty good, but I wasn't finding much funny in the book, unless they were counting on how much of a klutz the heroine is. That one surprised me, and I'm interested to see how the series pans out.
Ughh ,I stopped reading KGI too.No place to run was the one I liked the most. It went downhill from there , I gave 2 or 3 stars to book 3 4 5 and 6. We were buddy reading them so I continued buying and reading them.by book 6 I'd had enough though! So I stopped reading KGI and Maya Banks contemporaries altogether!

I remember thinking book one was so great a few months ago, but looking back now, I'm wondering what I liked so much about it. Even my review says that I glossed over some of the flaws of the book. I do have to give her credit, she does have a lot of action in her stories!
Are her historicals any better than these?

I loved Never Seduce a Scot but Highlander Most Wanted was not as good, it had rape in it and Maya Banks can't write about rape victims. So I'm not sure if I'll read the next in the series or not!
MB is a hit or a miss with me. When she's a hit, I'm pleasantly surprised. When she's a miss, she way off for me. **shrugs** However, most people are very happy with her Historicals; they don't do it for me, I'm in a minority. Most of her Contemporaries that I've liked were written a while ago.
Hayley wrote: "Now I'm kind of scared to even start her KGI series lol...."Have you read anything my Maya Banks?
Nope, never read anything by her ShoSho. LK - I know several people have different tastes... But, seems like a lot of people are on the fence with this series.
Hayley wrote: "Now I'm kind of scared to even start her KGI series lol...."Hayley, you can check out my review for The Darkest Hour, it should pull me up as one of the first reviewers, since we're friended. Unfortunately, I think this is one of my late night reviews, as I don't go into much detail about the book, and that's a sign I was tired when I wrote it.
I'd say give it a try from your local library first. KGI was my introduction to Maya Banks, and while I'm not enjoying them as much after reading this one, I have to admit, she does write a decent action scene!
I think though, if it came to an actual recommendation of this author, I'd have to say no, and steer the person asking toward Pamela Clare's I-Team series. Those have just as much action as KGI, but more of a human interest angle, as well as a more fully developed romantic relationship. I'll be reading Striking Distance later this month for another challenge, so check out that review when I get it finished!

I was too hasty in posting earlier! I finished Tyger, Tyger Burning Bryght tonight too! I didn't enjoy it much, but rounded up my rating to 2 stars. Another book I will not continue the series of!
Thanks Trea for the recommendation. I honestly only am reading this book because my friend and I are buddy reading it together and seeing if we enjoy it =). Plus it fit this challenge. We shall see if I enjoy it or not......

I finished Viking's Prize last evening after a "Take a Computer Break" Day...though I don't count my e-reader as a computer, even though it is to a degree! While I actually got immersed in the story, and was enjoying the writing style, overall, I didn't like the book. I think it might just be that I don't care for Viking romances in general. I would be interested to see what this author does with a Highland romance though!

Knocked two out today: Web of Lies and Wasted, both part of the Gin Blanco universe. I had read Web of Lies before, but liked it better this time around. Wasted is a short story showcasing Finnegan Lane and his similarities to Gin. Both were interesting to read, and whetted my appetite for more, so don't be too surprised if I find a way to fit Venom in next month!
Lisa Kay wrote: "Interesting, Trea. I should start that series."I'm taking my time with it, because the last time I tried to read it, I wound up quitting it about a third of the way through. I think Spider's Bite was a 3 star read for me, and I'd have to say that Web falls under the same rating.
I've heard something similar to that from more of my GRs friends. That series takes awhile to get in gear.

Finished out the challenge today with two books that I disliked overall. 13 Little Blue Envelopes was slightly confusing and difficult to connect to the heroine. Kiss Me, I'm Irish was another one where I had a hard time connecting to the characters and the plot was uninteresting to me. At least I got caught up though!
