Fafnir123 | 8 comments Hi, so just like the title i would like a reccommendation on a fantasy that is focus on a couples mostly as their relationship become intimate. Most fantasy i find lacking and feels rush. Bonus point if it a Princess/knight combo. Sorry if this sound demanding i just want to read a good fantasy romance for once. Thanks in advance

Hafy I only have one series that come to mind for that..

Fantasyland series by Kristen Ashley.

I love this series to bits...

Tina (tina_evans) | 61 comments The vampire academy and bloodlines series'. Both by Richelle Mead, are fantastic at a fantasy world with developing live stories and trials and tribulations of friendship

message 4: by Michele (new)

Michele | 2488 comments Patricia McKillip's Riddle of Stars trilogy, starting with The Riddle-Master of Hed.

Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar trilogy, starting with The Summer Tree.

Sharon Shinn's Samaria novels, starting with Archangel.

I'm going to second Michele's suggestion of Riddle of Stars. An excellent series.

Lee Anne (ladyofrohan2995) | 181 comments Also Lois McMaster Bujold's The Sharing Knife series (4 books) starting with Beguilement. It's much slower and more character-focused than most fantasy. I don't remember exactly where the romance/relationship starts developing, but it definitely focuses on one couple. If you're looking for a romance book, this probably isn't it, but it is fantasy and it is a very slow but worthwhile romance.

*Note: Ignore the stupid-sounding synopsis*

Lark | 69 comments Everything Michele suggested is gold.

I'd also include Crown Duel & Court Duel by Sherwood Smith. Crown Duel

Summer at Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn. Summers at Castle Auburn

message 8: by Scott (new)

Scott Thirded on the McKillip. Pretty much anything she writes is wonderful.

Andre Norton does some excellent fantasy (and sci fi and mixed sci-fi/fantasy) series. While the romance isn't the main thrust of the story, there is romance.

message 10: by Tess (new)

Tess | 439 comments The Belgariad Boxed Set - starts with Pawn of Prophecy - mostly it's just epic fantasy. there's a budding romance that happens, but it's not the main point of the story.

Kat (katsobsession) | 39 comments Dealing with Dragons

There's 4 books in the series, love it very much.

message 12: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (00krystal) | 132 comments The Dragonbone Chair (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #1) by Tad Williams Stone of Farewell (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #2) by Tad Williams To Green Angel Tower, Part 1 (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #3; Part 1) by Tad Williams To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #3; Part 2) by Tad Williams

This series, "Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn", is a fantastic EPIC that has a very sweet romance that develops throughout all four books. I love them. Think Tolkien only readable.

Oh yes, great recommendation!

Sophie (notemily) | 477 comments In the middle of the Riyria Revelations by Michael J. Sullivan and it's got a fairly promising slow-build romance (which is basically a princess/knight relationship, although I don't think the dude is an official knight yet).

The October Daye series by Seanan McGuire, if you're into urban fantasy at all. A bit of a role reversal--the woman is a knight and the man is royalty.

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 126 comments Here are some:
The Sharing Knife Series by Lois McMaster Bujold
Beguilement (The Sharing Knife, #1) by Lois McMaster Bujold Legacy (The Sharing Knife, #2) by Lois McMaster Bujold Passage (The Sharing Knife, #3) by Lois McMaster Bujold Horizon (The Sharing Knife, #4) by Lois McMaster Bujold
Really sweet romance set in a fantasy world

The Kushiel Universe by Jacqueline Carey
Kushiel's Dart (Phèdre's Trilogy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey Kushiel's Chosen (Phèdre's Trilogy, #2) by Jacqueline Carey Kushiel's Avatar (Phèdre's Trilogy #3) by Jacqueline Carey
This series is amazing! It's an epic fantasy with lots of romance that is integral to the plot. The world building is amazing and there are so much twist and turns. Highly recommended. It kind of has a princess/knight scenario... Kind of

The Chronicles of the Warlands series by Elizabeth Vaughan
Warprize (Chronicles of the Warlands, #1) by Elizabeth Vaughan Warlord (Chronicles of the Warlands, #3) by Elizabeth Vaughan Warsworn (Chronicles of the Warlands, #2) by Elizabeth Vaughan
This one is really good too... It kind of has a princess/knight scenario except not really

The Tairen Soul series
Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson Lady of Light and Shadows (Tairen Soul, #2) by C.L. Wilson King of Sword and Sky (Tairen Soul, #3) by C.L. Wilson Queen of Song and Souls (Tairen Soul, #4) by C.L. Wilson Crown of Crystal Flame (Tairen Soul, #5) by C.L. Wilson
This one is another of my favorites and there is a really strong romantic element, but again, the worldbuilding is reaaally good, the kind that stays with you afterwards

The Sylph series by L.J. McDonald
The Battle Sylph (Sylph, #1) by L.J. McDonald The Shattered Sylph (Sylph, #2) by L.J. McDonald Queen of the Sylphs (Sylph, #3) by L.J. McDonald The Sylph Hunter (Sylph, #4) by L.J. McDonald
Really unique concept, and it can get quite 'hot' from time to time, but its sets in a fantasy/steampunk world and is quite good

Elemental Blessings series and Samaria series by Sharon Shinn
Troubled Waters (Elemental Blessings, #1) by Sharon Shinn Royal Airs (Elemental Blessings, #2) by Sharon Shinn
Archangel (Samaria, #1) by Sharon Shinn Jovah's Angel (Samaria, #2) by Sharon Shinn The Alleluia Files (Samaria, #3) by Sharon Shinn Angel-Seeker (Samaria, #5) by Sharon Shinn Angelica (Samaria, #4) by Sharon Shinn
Basically most of the books by this author are pretty good romance fantasies

Anything by Tamora Pierce

The Sevenwaters series by Juliet Marillier
Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier Son of the Shadows (Sevenwaters, #2) by Juliet Marillier Child of the Prophecy (Sevenwaters, #3) by Juliet Marillier Seer of Sevenwaters (Sevenwaters #5) by Juliet Marillier Heir to Sevenwaters (Sevenwaters, #4) by Juliet Marillier Flame of Sevenwaters (Sevenwaters, #6) by Juliet Marillier
It's more of a dark fairytale retelling, but it could still be considered a fantasy romance

Song in the Silence by Elizabeth Kerner
Song in the Silence (The Tale of Lanen Kaelar, #1) by Elizabeth Kerner
This ones another sweet one, with an interesting couple

The Pern series by Anne McCaffrey

Okay I have a lot more, but it's going to take me a while to type them all out. Feel free to check out my 'fantasy-romance' shelf :)
