I'm waiting until that one is complete.

Will there be more?

Ela | 4291 comments Lisa wrote: "Have you read Anna Zaires - Twist Me Series or Capture Me Series? Those were pretty dark to me. Monsters In The Dark Series of course. But, you said you didn't necessarily want a series. Gaaaahhhh...."

I read the Capture Me Series, the first book I really enjoyed but the last 2 were 3 stars. I think that's why I haven't went for the author's other books.

Ela | 4291 comments Lisa wrote: "How about The Tutor and The Brother, Ela?"

Not yet, isn't The Brother due out Oct. 2 and sequel to The Tutor?

message 105: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
oh yeah, the next one of Marissa's is already done. she's in editing phase now.

and yes, on The Brother too, it comes out next Monday. but it isn't as dark as The Tutor... it is still dark... but not as dark. I've been in on that one from the ground up.

message 106: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments So would you say Marissa's is a series?

message 107: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
Ela, yes... she said she is planning 3 or 4 for that one.

message 108: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments It's so nice...and rare...to read a good standalone these days!!!

Dark, dark, dark... think think think... hmmm... gah, Idk. I know that Hideaway will be out this week... Shhh, LOL! They're all interconnected standalones, does that count?

message 112: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Oh you know Ela will be on Hideaway as soon as it's out. :)

message 113: by JudyCa (new)

JudyCa | 1709 comments Hey girls, what dark one is up next? I've been away from GR for a week so I'm catching up :)

message 114: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Oooh The Tutor is reduced- 1-click!

message 115: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Yup!

message 116: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Maybe I should do a Ker Dukey and scare myself silly with her brand of darkness and horror?

message 117: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Ker Dukey would probably satisfy that dark need. Her stuff messes with your mind.

message 118: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments And scares me shitless! I think Empathy was one of her "lighter" ones??? Although the Deception series she did with Sidebottom may have been the "lighter dark" LOVED it.
The Deception series boxset: FaCade, Cadence, Beneath Innocence

message 119: by Tessa (last edited Sep 28, 2017 07:28AM) (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments I loved the Deception series. Such a mind mess. I went to look. Is there anything by her you haven't read?

Oooh! I haven't read Beneath Innocence.

message 120: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments I was considering sitting with my thoughts on the book I finished, Accidental Witness by Sam Mariano, before recommending it. The beginning is not like the end. It sort of messed with my mind... a lot. That's why I jumped into the next one. The premise just seems like it'll be SUPER dark as a result of what I read in the first book. *crosses fingers* I'll tell you if it is.

message 121: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments After I reread the Fae Chronicles 4 and then the new one let's do something dark...not the dolls book though by Dukey, I heard there's a book 4.

message 122: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Hopefully by then, Hideaway will be out.

message 123: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments We've settle on Therapist

Here's a blurb and it's $2.99 on Amazon

I am a sociopath.

I know this because I diagnosed myself.

I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from a very prestigious university.

I am charming, attractive, and you probably want to sleep with me.

I take what I want, when I want, and I enjoy picking the most tragic of all my patients to experiment with.

I have no remorse, I am unrelenting in my pursuit of tragedy, and I am about to meet my match.

Her name is not important, I am only allowed to call her Mistress. She is a femme fatale, a patient, and now an obsession.

She will destroy me, I will do anything to get inside of her.

I can already feel her inside of me.

I started a BR thread

message 124: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments You forgot the trigger warning.....

**Trigger warning. This novel contains situations of perversity and dubious consent. It is not a love story, but more of a journey through a few short days in the life of a madman. What you see is not always what you get, reality is altered through his eyes and sometimes there is no happily ever after.

message 127: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Alright - for the next "dark" read, I think I want to read one of these:
Pet
Figure Eight
Blackwood

And Ela, I've already ready it, but I don't think you have:
The Red
It was definitely dirty - and pretty dark/out there
