We got paired!
I sent you a friend request and can't wait to choose a book!"
So nice to meet you! You have several books I'm considering. If I were to dip my toe into Pratchett (whom I've heard about but never read), what one book would you recommend as a good beginning?

I'm going to be reading Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief, from your 'read' shelf. I hope you can find something to your liking from my list— I think you will be able to :)

Oooh great choice, Terry Pratchett is possibly my favorite author. Well, if you want to get started on discworld and don't mind being sucked into a super-long and amazing series, then start with The Color of Magic. If you're looking for a stand-alone novel, try Nation (which is one of my personal favorites)
Well, I started looking through your bookshelves and wow do you have a lot of books. I'm not sure where to start. Got any suggestions for me?

Well I can be a bit nerdy about lists, and I've used Goodreads to help me reconstruct my reading throughout my life (and my grandson is exactly your age). Hence the number of books -- plus I have even more on my "want to read" list. I shall never die, right?!
You have All the Light We Cannot See on your to-read list, which is one I've read.
Also, I've started creating some shelves for books, so you might check out the Mystery, SF/Fantasy, Young Adult and Collin shelves (Collin is my grandson and I've tagged some of the books we've enjoyed together.) The Phantom Tollbooth is sheer delight -- we chuckled through it (it features a reluctant hero drawn into an alternate world. The wordplay is a highlight).
There are a lot of 4-5 star classics on my list. Feel free to ask anything, here or through a message. Cheers!

Hi Liz: I see we are paired. What book did you have in mind?
Happy Reading,
Penny"
I actually checked out three from your 'read' shelf because they sounded really good (and there are more I want to get!), so the question isn't which one I'm going to read, but which one gets read FIRST. I'm thinking I'll start with either An Accidental Woman or Firewall, though.
