Lauren | 37 comments I read a book description on amazon a few days ago and thought I added it to my wish list but it's not there. I believe the book was written in the last 5 years.

Story description:
The heroine is deaf and lives a very secluded life so as not to be locked away in an asylum.
The hero comes along and tries to find out what her secret is (I can't remember if he's a govt agent a nobleman or both).
That was the overall theme of the story. Any ideas on the title or author would be appreciated.

Thank you and goodnight!

Annamariah | 292 comments Silent Revenge by Laura Landon? Or maybe something from this Listopia?

Lauren | 37 comments Thank you for the suggestions. I checked the list and didn't find it there and it wasn't either of the other books mentioned.

One detail to add regarding the book, I believe the heroine lived in a cottage away from society in order to protect herself. Her deafness is a secret and the hero is trying to figure out what that secret is.

Thank you!

Further to Annamariah's suggestion of Silent Revenge, one reviewer says:

"Jessica needs a husband like yesterday or her stepbrother ends up in control of her and her fortune in just days. After her money he would either kill her or get her committed to an asylum. A bad enough fate for her because of the time period, but she is also deaf. She gets by because she has learned how to read lips and doesn't go out in society often."
