I remember reading a children's picture book about a grumpy female monster. I read this probably in the late 80s, early 90s. The monster was purple with pink sneakers. It turned out that she had pebbles in her shoes and they were too tight. At the end of the book, she got new shoes and was no longer so grumpy.
