It's fine if it is, I just want to make sure I'm not missing something if it's actually open to everybody.

Yes."
Just to be clear, your answer is (I assume): "Yes, it's actually open to everybody."
Not 'Yes' to Jessica's opening question.

Sorry. Thanks for clarifying things Dave. You have until tonight to vote. I believe you need an account to vote (which is free), but that doesn't require you to be a backer.

I imagine it would be good with whatever they put into a buttery nipple.

They put a link to buy it on Amazon in the show notes:

I'm goofy.

I came here looking for the link, so big thank you Tassie Dave for posting it in just the nick of time. :-)

It hasn't been announced yet, but it is going to be The Left Hand of Darkness.
Unless the poll gets a late run of votes, because it still seems to be open.

Official close! The July pick will be The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Legui
Not sure where that last "n" went, but there we are!
We've also read 2 books (1 was an alt pick) by Stephenson. There is no hard and fast rule about repeated authors though I think most of the time they do try to avoid it.

As far as reading multiple books by the same author, we've read:
2 by Neil Gaiman, George R.R. Martin, Terry Pratchett and now Ursula K. Le Guin.
(Gaiman & Pratchett did co-write one of the picks. Good Omens)
and Martin had 2 books from the same series.
If you include Alternates then also:
3 by John Scalzi (1 Pick and 2 alternates)
2 by Neal Stephenson, N.K.Jemisin & Naomi Novik (1 pick and 1 alternate each)

Guys. Please never repeatedly call Alexa again. My speaker was next to 'Lady A' and she freaked out and tried to call "1983" :D

That reminds me of a story that I hope is true:
At a demonstration of speech-recognition software, the tech asked everyone in the room to quiet down.
Just then someone in the back of the room yelled, "Format C: Return."
Someone else chimed in: "Yes, Return!"
Unfortunately, the software worked.
I don't know how Alexa works, but I wonder if it's possible for some dillhole jokester to prioritize embarrassing searches or responses.

Can I suggest that Tom and Veronica plan to 1) Get a vendor table and/or 2) Host a Panel. Set up a "go fund me" page to cover the costs or the like. It will create the Sword & Laser Hugo dominance in the Podcast category as it should be!
Plus I am going to Helsinki this August and I am glad there are other S&Lers going as well. I have been working a lot of overtime to fill up my Booze budget, so if you see me I will buy fellow S&Lers a drink!! Booze in Helsinki is very expensive.

My brother's Finnish friend Peter was a hardcore drinker, too. One day he decided to drive to the Arctic Circle, so he loaded up the trunk of his Reliant K-car with booze from the state store and traded hooch for lodgings throughout Canada. I doubt you could get away with that these days, but the 80s were a different time.
