I have these -
And also some from the Goosebumps series too?
Good morning! Hope you are safe Ginger, it is supposed to be 108°F over the weekend, so I probably will be staying home in my air-conditioning reading :-)
It's 8.20 pm here. I've been busy today, so couldn't get much reading done. And also was up till late yesterday night, so I'd have to ACTUALLY get some sleep tonight :)Our team is doing great btw!
@Fuzaila, I'll check my Stine books and let you know which ones of those I have :)@Berit, good morning! It's 9:53 AM here, I'm trying to get some reading done but I have to clean my entire house today because the bfs having his coworkers over for a cookout. :( I hate cleaning.
Do you listen to audiobooks? Helps the cleaning go by much quicker :-) I recently bought AirPods and those are the best things ever for audiobooks!
I try to listen to Audiobooks but a lot of the time while I'm cleaning I end up watching booktube videos on youtube. Have you ever watched Booktube?
God, I feel so out of place here.I've never listened to audiobooks, nor watched Booktube. And we also don't have postmans who come in trucks or even a car. The first time I ever heard of prom and dates is from books, a few years ago.
I definitely would lose a never have I ever game (Wait, is that win? I don't really know coz ofcourse, never played it either haha! )
Prom I believe is just American? You don't date in your country? My oldest son goes to You C of San Diego and the student body is almost 30% international, so he has been exposed to lots of other cultures and it has been just as interesting to him as the international students :-)
You would win a Never Have I ever. The way we play, if you've done something you drink, or put a finger down, and if you haven't done a lot than you would be the winner.
It's broad daylight... I have to clean my house... and I am scared, so scared. I keep seeing things and I am freaking out..Don't ever read this book
Ginger wrote: "I try to listen to Audiobooks but a lot of the time while I'm cleaning I end up watching booktube videos on youtube. Have you ever watched Booktube?"ooooo, whats book tube??? That sounds interesting
I have tried audio books but they never work for me, no matter what I am doing I always end up zoning it out, and I try really really hard to pay attention, then all of a sudden I'm in the kitchen cooking grilled cheese and the audiobook is playing to noone in the bedroom..
:-/
Just go on YouTube and search books, I will watch occasionally, but so many times I don't even think they read the books, they just go on and on about how pretty the covers are ;-) but they get lots of free books!
@Rae get yourself some good wireless headphones and put you audiobooks on you phone either leave it in your pocket if you are moving about a lot or just have it close by. If you have them on your phone they are with you all the time so even if you are waiting for the kids or BF you can listen to a book while watching them play sport etc.
Agree! Good wireless headphones are key, I have AirPods now and those are fabulous, but I have liked all my other wireless headphones for the most part :-) and I can get throughout my entire house if I sensually locate my phone:-)
If I can get any of the books I will join you for the R.L. Stine reads As I have never read them. I did recently read all the Cirque Du Freak series by Daren Shan As my youngest had been bugging me for years to finish the series and I totally loved it.May I point out in my defence we did not have books like this when I was a kid the closest we had were comics which only my brothers were allowed to have so my sister and I had to sneak a look at them :)

I have had 2 sets of Plantronics the first set my daughter brought me but they were only new out and didn't last long. The second set have been amazing they are over 2 years old now and still going strong.
Berit☀️✨ wrote: "What book are you reading? Sorry I'm on the app if you post the cover it doesn't always show up :-)"Ghost Camera by Darcy Cotas
Gillian wrote: "If I can get any of the books I will join you for the R.L. Stine reads As I have never read them. I did recently read all the Cirque Du Freak series by Daren Shan As my youngest had been bugging me..."Why couldn't you have comics?

We were not allowed to stay at school after we got to the legal age to no longer attend. My mother believed girls did not need an education. I never owned a book until I was 16 when I started working and brought my own. My best friend got me to start reading romance magazines from there I went to mills a Boon books and then finally my older brother started to lend me his sci fi books and I was off like a rocket reading all the time after that. I was about 25 by that time. My how things have changed.
I'm happy times have changed, although I wouldn't mind staying home while my boyfriend worked but I wouldn't ever be able to sacrifice some things just for that. It's crazy how sexist the world used to be, and still is.
I'm glad things have changed also I was a YA in the 70's and it was so hard to accept the sexism then because we could see it changing all around us. The change was fast at that time but its still not finished today. It's hard to believe it was over 40 years ago I wonder will it ever be truly equal.
This all reminds me when I bought my first pair of jeans I had to go to the mens department to by them as they didn't have jeans for girls lol
In hundreds of years, people will look back at that era and think wow I can't believe that. It seems like a different world completely even now you know?BUT maybe in a hundred years we'll be back to that. We have a lot of politicians who try to get woman back to being barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. Trying to abolish rights, and pay women less just for being women.
It seems in my generation, in my country, in my area, the guys have become lazy and want to be supported by women. I can't tell you how many times I started dating a guy who I realized wanted to use me as a provider. I want a man who is equal to me, and my dream is to one day be a stay at home mom but also an author, or have a business at home. So I'll still be working but doing something I love.
I grew up in the 80s and things were not like that at all, although I grew up in California so things are a little more liberal all around, a lot of things that happen in other parts of the country still surprise me....
Its legal to have sex with animals in some states, and it's legal to have sex with relatives in some states. BUT in some states its illegal to own more than one vibrator, or to have sex in any position other than missionary, etc.etc. In Wisconsin it's technically illegal to swear, but we all do and the cops don't fine us.Looking up wacky law states or funny sex laws is always a good time.
SO I just finished this book, and in the end the last 'scary story' in the book said if you knew about this girls story she would come and kill you. It than said "We hope this isn't real, for your sake, or you could become part of the tale" ....I DIDN'T CHOOSE THIS. If I disappear ya'll you know what happened!
Berit☀️✨ wrote: "I grew up in the 80s and things were not like that at all, although I grew up in California so things are a little more liberal all around, a lot of things that happen in other parts of the country..."The changes from the 60's through to the 80's were huge It was very different in the 80's here also.

It's not like actual date here. People are just so very conservative. They don't accept boys and girls going together for dates. But yeah people do have bfs and gfs in schools and colleges, but not dates. The most they can do is sneak around. I believe it happens more in the north though.
Ginger wrote: "Bizarre Horror Stories: 11 Weird & Crazy Paranormal Accounts That'll Creep You Out"Wow that sounds challenging. I definitely want to try that 😂
@Gillian, I've only read of it, they sound so much fun! I wish schools here were more like schools in the west, not because of the prom. But you know, in the west they make students read actual literature for class and discuss them. There's nothing like that here. My school library didn't even have The Harry Potter books and that's terrible. There aren't many libaries around and bookstores are rare too. It's astonishing how things were in the past, girls had literally no rights. It is improving, yes. But the change is rather slow if you ask me. It isn't contagious at all. My mom didn't complete school nor did she have have a say in her marriage. Things are a bit better now, but not really. My parents won't let me out of our little town for studies (even if there isn't any good colleges here), they'd lock me up if they ever remotely hear of me and a boy and I don't hold anything against them for it. It's just that they're very conservative an it's just the way people are here. I've grown up in this place, and I understand the way it is even if I don't really agree with them.
