Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Of course you might want to think about it because you know I'm picking the Taylor Jenkins Reid...

message 152: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Thanks, Robin! In that case, I added one more to my list that I haven't been able to read yet!

I'm looking at your list...

message 153: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Robin--I pick A Life Less Beautiful by Elle Brooks A Life Less Beautiful because I want to hear what you think about it!

Fabi--sorry for the late additions!

Yay! I love it! Tessa will be thrilled!

One of my faves Accidentally on Purpose Accidentally on Purpose (Accidentally on Purpose, #1) by L.D. Davis

THIS BOOK ROCKS!!"

That book, I just can't! Excellent pick!

Ela | 4291 comments Anna wrote: "Amy- Since you like dark books that tear your heart out... my pick for you is Enslaved (The Life of Anna, #1) by Marissa Honeycutt It looks too dark for me."

Such a good series! Enjoy Amy. I'm so curious what you'll think! 🐲🍄🌛💫

message 157: by Leslie (last edited Jul 01, 2017 05:32AM) (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Nay, I will read Kyland Kyland by Mia Sheridan with you sometime

Robin, I will read The Studying Hours The Studying Hours (How to Date a Douchebag, #1) by Sara Ney with you.

Both of these are on my lists to read this year.

Also, I want to try TJR.

message 158: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Renee, I still have to go with Maybe in Another Life! It's one of my all time favorites and I know you'll love it!

message 159: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 01, 2017 09:04AM) (new)

That How to Date one......i don't get it. One of my least favorites last year. The writing was very choppy.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments No problem Nay. I kept asking about you. Glad you and Robin worked it out.

message 161: by Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications (last edited Jul 01, 2017 08:10AM) (new)

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments I've been looking at my shelf trying to figure out what Amy will pick for me. Also trying to make sure I don't have any Marmies in there or she'll land on that for sure. *snort*

message 162: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments And I adored it Bev. The writing rarely bothers me, but that story was fun.

message 163: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Fabi, I can see her liking a lot on there. She likes YA and PNR too. Me, I'd pick #Junkie just because I love her hash tag series. I just don't like M/M.

message 164: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments OMG - you picked Life of Anna for Amy? That was one of THE darkest, most warped books I've ever read. She's going to need a blankie castle, no fort will do.

message 165: by Anna (new)

Anna Penwick (annapenwick) | 166 comments Michelle wrote: "OMG - you picked Life of Anna for Amy? That was one of THE darkest, most warped books I've ever read. She's going to need a blankie castle, no fort will do."

I'm beginning to think I should have picked something else. In my defense Amy selected it for her shelf. Amy likes dark books doesn't she?

message 166: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
Anna, no worries, Amy can handle the dark!

message 167: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments She does. I can see her getting into it big time. I've no clue how dark it gets, since I DNF'd it after the first chapter. lol

message 168: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Oh and if it's any comfort, sometimes Amy is our guinea pig for dark books. :D

message 169: by [deleted user] (new)

It's really her pick. You're just pushing it up the line. Even the DNFs are a success really.

message 170: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 01, 2017 02:40PM) (new)

So i saw this thing for cleaning out your tbr on a couple blogs. It like a weekly thing.....meme? I don't know. But anyway once a week they go to their goodreads shelf. They pick through 10 books in order. Then decide keep or discard. I'm a bit tempted. 📚

message 171: by Amy (new)

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments I GOT FABI!!! *happy dance*

My selfish side wants to pick a ME book, but my affection for you tells me to go with something you would want...so I'm compromising. I'm picking Trailer Trash by Marie Sexton because it is m/m for you and emotional storyline for me. ;)

message 172: by Amy (new)

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments Aw crap...Life of Anna for me?!? Well, I did add it to my list, and reading something we've been putting off was one of the points of this challenge, right? So, thank you Anna!

Anyone seeing the how funny it is that Anna chose Life of Anna? *giggle*

message 173: by Amy (new)

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments Oh my...holy moly...Paula gets Jezebel, Niki gets Fallen Crest Public, Lisa gets The Opportunist, Leslie gets Love, in English, AND JEAN GETS Accidentally on Purpose?!?

I'm. Gonna. Die. I'm so jealous of y'all!!!

Hope you like my pick then. ;) I'll admit I deflated a bit when I saw no Marmies on your list, lol.

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments Jean wrote: "Anna, i can't believed you picked Enslaved for Amy! Good luck Amy! I did read it and the entire series..... nothing like I've ever read."

Right? RIGHT?!? Even I am freaking out a little right now. But YOU...have fun with the angst of Accidentally on Purpose. I ended up with a splotchy chest from that one!

I'm beginning to thin..."

No worries, Anna...I really DO like dark books. I've just been a little a-scared of this one because I just know I'm going to lose my shit. Kinda like when I read Her Master's Courtesan and was traumatized...well, as much as I can be, anyways. *snicker*

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments Tessa wrote: "Oh and if it's any comfort, sometimes Amy is our guinea pig for dark books. :D"

That's right...Marmy twin power ACTIVATE!!

Where the heck is everyone? I'm talking to my damn self right now...

message 182: by [deleted user] (new)

We are letting you activate.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments LOL Amy! I loved watching you catch up on the comments.

Thanks for the pick! It's been sitting in my tbr for well over a year.

message 184: by [deleted user] (new)

Fabi has a YA CR on list???🤤

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments I'm here!! But I'm with Fabi, just cracking at you catching up!

I do this sometimes on my kindle. Just sit there are go through all the many many samples I've downloaded and get ruthless and chuck the ones that look dodgy. Or sometimes I spend some time actually reading some of the kindle samples I might have downloaded ages ago after seeing a rec. Occasionally I might like one, but usually with the old ones it's, why the heck did I ever download THAT?? And I also discard (off my kindle, anyway) partly finished books that I finally have to accept will be dnfs. It's quite therapeutic. You feel very virtuous afterwards.

I think maybe it's getting close to time to do that again. I've got 700 items on my kindle. That's RIDICULOUS!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments I've been doing the same thing with my samples Jan. Some are years old and my tastes have changed. You're right, it does feel good to downsize that tbr, even if it's only temporary.

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
LOL, I love watching someone (read, Amy!) catch up... it makes me giggle!

I have eleventy billion books on my kindle. it's horrifically overwhelming!

message 189: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Oh and for all you who read LoA, that beginning, that first chapter into the second... that what kinda happened in Vengeance and why I had to say no to that. *sighs* Yet, I'm so wanting to pick it up again.

Downsize my TBR? But... but... Most of them were free! That's why they are there. I currently am the highest I've ever been with paid for books unread, 60. (Can you believe the latest Red Queen is one of them?) Maybe my wishlist? There's some books on there that I've no idea what they are.

What if there was the bookopalypse?? Yeah, I can't delete stuff off my kindle either, LOL!

Thats why we need to keep libraries. The digital would be the first to go.
Or some sort of virus through Amazon or hack. Or the cloud. Or Amazon decides to delete them. Bye bye,.

Jan (jan130) Yeah you're giving me nightmares. *takes a tight grip on fully charged kindle and joins Grey*

Pass me that box of chocolates please, Grey? And that large glass of sauvignon blanc?

*giggle* Have you all ever seen those Doomsday Preppers type shows??? Instead of canned food and bottled water, here we all are; with Godiva and wine, solar powered kindle chargers and stuffed manatees... we'd be the most popular preppers ever, I bet!

message 196: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol. Its just to amazon we dont really own the books.

message 197: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol. I was reading that as peppers. That we would be the most popular peppers.

Just to make it clear, I'm only deleting samples. It it's a full length book, it stays, even if I don't plan to read until it's the last available book in the world. ;-)

Leslie--sounds good! I noticed there have been ZERO buddy reads while I've been gone. What the heck?! But secretly, I'm glad because I don't feel like I missed as much!

I turned in those 40-something chapters last night, so now I have until Friday to communicate! And participate! And read a book or two! I feel so out of the loop!!
