The Scarlet Pimpernel by Emmuska Orczy or A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. It's so good and they both hit me in the right spots

message 154: by Celia (new)

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) | 35 comments I've found myself reading Harry Potter on somewhat of a yearly schedule. Now I write fanfiction for the series, which is making my reading go a lot slower with that series, but that's the only one I can think of where I just have that need.

I'm currently reading The Richest Man in Babylon and it does look like a periodic read for those who are interested in personal finance.

Twilight Saga
I'm currently rereading the Harry Potter series (out of order) and I also find myself reading Harry Potter on a yearly schedule. I read The Twilight saga again every month. Most of the time.

message 179: by Wayward Skyril (new)

Wayward Skyril Sabriel by Garth Nix is probably the only book I can happily read over and over again. I'm not quite sure how many times I've re-read it at this point. I periodically get a yearning to re-enter that world and follow those characters. Honestly it's probably my favorite book of all time.

message 195: by Alyda (new)

Alyda | 23 comments First read The Way of Kings as a ten year old in 2011 and I've read it at least once or twice a year since then.

Because the Stormlight Archive is (and all of Brandon Sanderson's books in general are) such a big part of my childhood, WoK has become my go-to book when I need to read something comforting and familiar. Now that the fourth book of the series is out, I'll probably be doing another re-read soon. :)
